4.0 excellent | Krpa | April 20th 22 | Northlane's cyberpunk-core phase continues. I'm kind of out of my own metalcore-listening phase, but this brought me back to those times. Times when I was looking out for every next core album that hits the spot and bends genres the way I really wanted it to. Another win for Northlane in my book.

2.5 average | cloakanddagger | April 22nd 22 | What a confusing release. Its like they've
stopped bothering to write interesting riffs
in favour of adding more synths to the mix but
most of those
synths arent that interesting either. There
are some good songs on here but they're way
too few and far between to justify the duds,
or this albums runtime for that matter.

4.5 superb | Leon11037 | August 21st 22 | Finally... electronic metalcore that isn't just 0 0 0 0 0 0 with a midi playing underneath it for the whole thing. They blend the genres seamlessly here, everything just works beautifully

4.0 excellent | CombustibleBlueGhost | April 25th 22 | Why does almost every prog-metal/metalcore band I listen to have to sample an Alan Watts speech?

4.0 excellent | haggmeez | February 27th 24 | I first rated this as a 3.0 having been initially unimpressed with the new Northlane sound. Since then I've found myself listening to it more and more. I am rather fond of their new sound now.

2.0 poor | WildCardboiii | December 2nd 22 | couldnt even listen to the album front to back. listened to about 2/3 then skimmed the rest.

4.0 excellent | NorthaVelvet | June 7th 22 | Album's the very definition of a grower if you ask me. I'm one of the bunch who didn't dig it at first but then realised how catchy this can be

4.0 excellent | himynameisaaron | April 30th 22 | This one was hard for me. I didn't love the
singles at first (still not a fan of Echo Chamber)
and the album in its entirety didn't grab me like
Alien did. When you open an album with a song like
Details Matter, you're gonna be paying attention.
But after several listen there are a lot of little
details that take awhile to "get". The only real
negatives I have are too many pop hooks and some
repetitive songs like Echo Chamber, Xen (although
I do like that song). That brings its down below
Alien for me but overall it's a very strong
release. "Obsidian" may be their best song ever.
It's just massive.
Cut Echo Chamber and Inamorta and this is closer
to a 4.2 for me.
This album is such a grower. Songs like Cypher,
Plenty and Abomination take awhile to really
click. I think that alot of you guys blow Clarity
up to be more than it is and IMO it doesn't really
fit with the feel of the remainder of the album.
If they cut it to about 2:30 instead of over 5
minutes it's perfect... It just drags on too long.

4.0 excellent | zooky | April 27th 22 | An extremely interesting and unique sound. I think it suffers from having to be compared to Alien though, it's hard to rate it on its own. Maybe this rating will change later on.

4.0 excellent | ajcollins15 | April 27th 22 | With the band's sixth full-length album they continue to explore and develop the industrial and cyber metal elements they incorporated into their already metalcore and djent sound. Although the length can make the album diverge a bit, especially with the latter half of the album, ?Obsidian? is a really worthwhile listen for any metal fan out there because of how catchy and mesmerizing it all is. The sound is diverse enough from track to track to keep you engaged, but it feels as a cohesive listen for the 56-minutes it?s on. Very solid listening experience!
