Augury certainly have the potential to make beautiful music. Jupiter to ignite and oversee the rebirth are 2 of the best songs ive heard all year. However unfortunately whilst being great the rest of the album doesnt live up to the brilliance of those 2 songs. Despite this, Augury maybe a band to look out for in the future.

This album is one of the best tech/prog death metal albums to come out in a long time. Dominic Lapointe is an absolute beast on this album.

Been consistently jamming this since it dropped and after a decade plus it still has not lost any of its impact whatsoever. One of the greatest metal albums of all time and there isn't a single note in it's run time that is anything less than perfect. I was lucky enough to see them at my first concert and honestly it still holds up as one of the best sets I've seen. Forest is a god among men. Any fan of extreme music must jam this. It is not an option.

Excellent musicians. However, as is so often the problem with tech death, the songwriting is sidelined in favour of overblown technical exhibition. When Augury restrain themselves, the results are breathtaking ("Skyless"); and, compared with other acts in the genre, they do a decent job of this ("Simian Cattle"). However, the band should remember that a song needs always to work as a unit, not just as a ramshackle collection of exhibitionist shred-pieces. If they can sustain this mindset for an album's duration, they have the potential to release some genre-defining stuff.

got this when it first came out, and i still haven't stopped listening to it. I try and listen to this a couple times a week. One of my favorite albums. The bass is superb on this album.
