I know it has been said many times already but, gosh, the mix sucks.

This is RED's greatest album. I understand that the mixing is far from being good but just about every song on here sounds really incredible. Best Rock Album of 2020.

May be some of their best work, it's a shame the mix is absolutely awful.

It's fun and it's heavy, but that's pretty much all it is. I think the lyrics suffer the most on this record. As this project is their "declaration of independence," the lyrics focus on their new-found freedom, severing old ties, and their determination to keep fighting. Songs regarding the battle within are either poorly attempted ("From The Ashes") or non-existent. (The lone exception goes to "The War We Made," which seems to be connecting to audiences on Spotify better than any other track on the album.) If you need a band-aid for the soul, this ain't it. If you need a fun, heavy project, then you've found it. (Also, points off for the missing breakdown in "Float.")

So is this what Nicholas Cage was trying to steal?

Red, 4-piece band from Nashville, has been around for a while. Making music since 2004 and have been at the forefront of the alternative metal revolution seen in the mid-2000s. Their seventh record they are bringing it back to the roots and if you look at it that way, they hit it out of the park. This is heavy hitting yet sophisticated in a way that many of the best alternative metal bands sound. The biggest thing about this record is it overstays its welcome after a while. For being a 38-minute record, it feels much longer, and it has to with the sound does get a bit stale. For the most part, however, this is a very solid release and a much-needed step up from their ?all-over-the-place? last two or three records.

sometimes shotty mixing aside, this is a really strong outing from Red. The album is the marriage of their sophomore album "Innocence and Instinct" and their 5th album "Of Beauty and Rage". This album is a celebration of the best parts of RED.

Had this been mixed properly this would've been much better, as it stands now though it's better than their last two records but not much else.

Very solid album with only 2 average songs. Unfortunately, I agree with a lot of the comments about the production, it does take away from the overall enjoyability of the album, but props to these guys for getting their own label. The Evening Hate, Infidel, Cauterize, Float, and The Victim are fantastic.

Huge step up from their last album. Going independent might have been the best move this band has ever made.
