Elbow's style of melancholic (ofc they English) indie chamber art pop isn't exactly my cuppa, but there are flashes of brilliance here and there.

I think it suffers a little from a lack of identity but it's a masterfully made album. At
times I felt like I was listening to Peter Gabriel. Over all an excellent album and if you
like Elbow you won't be disappointed by this release.

"My sad captains" sounds like early "doves" songs. Such an emotional powerful song. Unfortunately there are some fillers like every elbow release but in fact this is a huge step up from their previous release "Build a rocket boys"
