have these guys ever heard of a tone knob LOL this is good but it could use some more
variation in mood, instrumentation, tempo, reverb amount, etc. The whole thing sounds like
if Hammock became a Scottish indie band aka it gets a little boring after a while. River,
So Stay Close, Here is Where, Your House is Aglow are v good tracks

I was just a normal guy living a normal life, until i found this album, i checked the band on facebook to know how many lukes and followers the have, the numbers were not impressive. But then i decided to listen to the record. it starts soft with an acoustic melody called "And Our Hearts Did Beat", that song touched my heart, in a good way. But then it continued with "River", a heavier song, but still soft enough to enjoy it and relax yourself to death. that song is so good that the first thin i did was telling my friends how good this band and this album really are, and i was just in the second song of one of the greatest records i have heard in a while. After that was "roots" a great acoustic melody that you will enjoy. then "Youngblood"will motivate you with some great beats. A pair of songs later comes "So stay close", another beautiful song that you will remember. i continued listening just to fall in love with this whole masterpiece of modern music. i recommend to listen to this while you are reading, or just relaxing. Listen to this you will not regret.

Pretty emotional indie rock/folk with some post-rock linings. Nice listen, but "River" is so good it makes the rest of the album seem pale in comparison (apart from "Youngblood", "South Street", "Elder and Oak"). Plus, the singer sounds really good when he lets it loose, but that does not happen quite often throughout the record.

From the soaring highs of "And Our Hearts Did Beat" and "River" to the sweeping yet solemn sentimentalism of "Elder and Oak" and "The Good Days," The Dark, Dark Bright is a magnificent achievement.

Perfectly paced and masterfully crafted. The Dark, Dark Bright knows when to explode and when to stay calm. Whether it be the beautifully constructed instrumentals or the sheer passion displayed vocally, this album is layered to the brim with sounds of awe. I honestly don't think that the concept of an album could be better defined. It's so full and I love every second of it.
