Scottish indie rock/post-rock/indie folk band There Will Be Fireworks was formed by Glasgow schoolmates Nicholas McManus, Adam Ketterer, Gibran Farrah, and David Madden in February 2008 after the group had been involved in "various bad bands in various combinations with a few other guys”. Their self-released and self-titled debut album was released on July 1, 2009 to critical acclaim, and was followed up by an EP titled Because, Because, released on December 18, 2011. In 2012, the band signed to BBC Music Introducing promoter Paul Downie's record label Comets & Cartwheels, and released their second album The Dark, Dark Bright on November 22, 2013. After a 10 year gap, their third LP Summer Moon was released in November 2023.
Their orchestral indie rock sound has been compared to that of Explosions In The Sky, The Twilight Sad, and Frightened Rabbit; all of which the band cites as influences. « hide |
