I was riding a wave on side 1, I thought it could even be better than Tago Mago. Unfortunately I?m not a huge fan of Vitamin A, and Soup was a real disappointment. I don?t mind the avant garde or freeform, but this one felt particularly nonsensical, like it wasn?t even trying to evoke the emotions of an Aumgm or Halleluwah

A bit of "jam" Can, a bit of "weird" Can, and a bit of "Pop" Can. Ege Bamyasi has no bad tracks, but when compared to Tago Mago or Monster Movie, it doesn't reach the same heights conceptually.

While the crazy experimentation that we know and love from Can is present here, what makes this album different is that there is some noticeable strong structure that makes it easier for novice listener like myself to enjoy this album.

This is where to start getting into Can. This is a great example of experimentation within a defined form. These are pop songs with pop song runtimes, but they're weird and fascinating and beautiful and fantastic.
