 | xxm Hello there, I just want to say that I hope that you are relatively at peace at this moment and that your broken review is brilliant (I still love Pretty Hate Machine though). Take Care.

Its weird no matter how busy life gets i always come back here and remember the great times i had with you and a few others. Especially on tinychat and plug and that facebook group we had. Good times
 | unclereich hahaha you fxcking remember that!? with my face on the cover. was essentially an entire lp of meat salad doing weird sh!t on a 6 string
 | JohnnyoftheWell **** me Thousand Knives Of... is just the essence of cool ain't it
 | Winesburgohio we'd be remiss not to include something from Secrets of the Beehive I feel
 | Winesburgohio between our combined fusillade we'll be unstoppable
 | Winesburgohio i think we generate interest through a sustained period of constant bombardment
 | JohnnyoftheWell i am very bored and midway through an alanis morissette album, you caught me at a moment of great weakness - and cheers, will do!
 | evilford Bruh I'm gonna Bowie hard this weekend hope u doin well fam
 | sixdegrees https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d4/cb/bd/d4cbbd9e93758e6bb0b5fdc520c6a3b4.jpg
 | JohnnyoftheWell Aw sad, was hyped to read your take (and also more confident in your ability to land that artwork on the feature bar than mine)! Will try and knock something out if I have time though, it's fun stuff
 | CaptainDooRight yo fripp jam my new album, I think you would dig https://trvth.bandcamp.com/album/inordinate-and-surpassing
 | Mort. the uk boomer spelling and reasoning in those posts is fascinating, truly a great insight into my own country on election week
 | Mort. never thought id see such political beef in the friends of the enid page lol
 | evilford Hey ur staff now? Sweet did I know that? Lol
 | botulist check Erica Pomerance - You Used to Think
 | Divaman That would be great. Good to hear from you.
 | Deviant. I don't know if the constant change in styles is a calculated move, more just what's she feeling when she makes a new album. I like that she doesn't compromise though
 | Deviant. As for Halo - it's good that she's getting the attention. Her music has always had a dense and impenetrable quality to it, so it's no big surprise that it's taken people awhile to come around. Someone like Agnes Obel does what Halo does but it's admittedly a lot more palatable, thus more instantly gratifying
 | Deviant. See, I always say The Altar as being a nice blend of her quirky faux-gothic undertones and more broad and generalised popstar wants. III juss feels hastily put together, like she had a couple of good tracks (Gimmie being one of them) and went "best get some more and make an album. Some of the decisions she's made with that album are interesting. Some of the beats that she chose to work with are more oddball just for the sake of being oddball
 | clavier if i'm gonna be honest i gave up listening 2/3 of the way through, it does mean that any opinion i have about that album should be taken with some grains of salt
 | clavier i wish i enjoyed it, it'd be nice to have another genuinely interesting unconventional bm album but it's not a good sign when i feel like i'm hearing s***tyflute on track 1
 | clavier actually it's not good, don't believe the anti-anti-hype
 | Divaman Hi Frip. Hope you're doing well. I was wondering if you have any interest in contributing a track for November's Song of the Day list? (https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=189442). This month's theme is "gifts". We're looking for people to contribute a song that they like that they first learned about thanks to someone here on Sputnik.
 | Deviant. She deserves it. She's also smart enough that she's not all the way quirky like FKA, but mysterious and quirky enough to appeal to a lot of demographics. Which sounds like I think she's manufactured, which isn't the case. But she's carefully curating herself. Shame about her last album though
 | ArsMoriendi Okay! When you do, can you tell me if you put it on Bowie's page, the Soundtrack (movie) page, or some third page?
 | ArsMoriendi Why isn't the Labyrinth soundtrack on Sputnik? Or am I missing it somehow?
 | CaptainDooRight Brilliant Trees is my fav but yee I?ve jammed his stuff for years now bra. Good rec tho
 | CaptainDooRight The Gift song by Mark Hollis is prolly the best song ever written tho...........
 | CaptainDooRight dude rec me some inspiring music, something that would impress me but that is also extremely immersive. I wanna leave this world butt it has to be palatable two
 | ArsMoriendi Oh, thank god. Strange Angels has 0 good songs on it.
 | ArsMoriendi Is the rest of post-Home of the Brave Laurie Anderson as boring as Strange Angels?
 | DoofDoof song seems to have found the missing ingredients to turn ken's 8 or 9 out of 10 into the full 11
 | DoofDoof On what is this feeling based? I hope so
 | CaptainFluf idk i feel like there's no point in using sputnik if all i do is rate albums on both sites. hopefully i post in the forums here or something though
 | CaptainFluf mayb a bit, but idk what to do other than rate and if that's all i do then what's the point of using this instead of rym? what i like about this is it being more about community/forums but that's scary
 | unclereich I love jobs where you can jam and do your work
 | unclereich wyd for work irl now? im about to finish my master tybg
 | unclereich Car i just bought had some issues so i flipped it for profit but now i dont have any wheels and am too indecisive to buy a car. Very weird time in my life rn. Still jammin? I never listen to new music anymore
 | Sowing The only time we enforce reviews is with a label promo, otherwise it's all on a volunteer basis!
 | Sowing Also, if you think you might miss the chance entirely, you can offer it in Olympus. Otherwise just do it wherever.
 | Sowing Take your time. I don't think I have enough background with Olsen to write about her confidently, or I'd say yes.
 | Sowing lol I'd pos. also: Lark, All Mirrors, New Love Cassette, Spring, and Chance are all 5/5 songs that deserve SOTY playlist consideration
 | Sowing excited for that glowing angel olsen review. album's a beaut.
 | JohnnyoftheWell Oh damn, imma get on that. Wonder if they play the Saijiki songs in full, or just stick to the core parts
 | dmathias52 Works for me! You def know this better than I do, so I can just be around to help if ya need it
 | Dedes Big dick Kirby takes on many forms and lives through me as I am one of his many vessels.
 | Winesburgohio if it's any consolation my chart has brought shame upon my house and ancestors
 | Dedes You and I both know nothing will come of it What are you gonna do? IP ban me?Big dick Kirby lives
 | Dedes It'll only come back stronger
 | Dedes What you know of Kirby is only a portrayal of societal ignorance, for underneath their lurks a terror you do not want to know...
 | Dedes Your darkest nightmare realized
 | Xenophanes From what I?ve heard so far it feels like a retrospective album?I hear a bit of several Boris eras. But I?ve only skimmed it. They?re one of my faves so I?m excited l.
 | Xenophanes I?ve only skimmed the new Boris but I?m loving what I?m hearing?also your rating has me pleased.
 | NorthernSkylark Also, in the recs department, you should give Peter Silberman's Impermanence a go. It's a subtle stunner of an album.
 | NorthernSkylark late reply, sorry for that. just moved to a new apartment... I really liked the Ichiko Aoba album. I'll definetely give it another spin! As for the country album, it sounded just fine to me. As for the prefab album, it's an album I really have to be in the right mood to play. I will rate it when I'm ready. Haven't heard the last rec yet.
 | sixdegrees cancel culture is CANCELED because marky mark still has a career
 | SitarHero What's up with the deleting comments Fripp?
 | NorthernSkylark In a bit of a country mood atm, but anything for rainy nights spend in solitude would be appreciated!
 | deathschool The evidence that proves to the contrary has beend.
 | TalonsOfFire That's probably my least favorite song too. I can't believe 3 years of waiting, and after some of their best music, they make this. It sounds like a cover band doing a Kayo Dot parody album in places.
 | TalonsOfFire Yeah I'm hoping it grows on me but I'm doubting it
 | TalonsOfFire Hey Fripp, you listen to the new Kayo Dot album Blasphemy yet? If so, what did you think? You weren't a fan of PHoBoS, correct?
 | NorthernSkylark lizzy mercier descloux - mambo nassauit's even better than press color, which i see you liked quite a lot.
 | Mort. i too have been doing jack here but that should hopefully change in the coming weeks as i submit my final pieces of work for my degree on friday then graduate in july : )
 | Mort. what up my dude been long time
 | Aberf haven't replied to your latest shoutbox, but I've been unironically studying one of the divine books (Qur'an) and found it to be truly divine in itself. I'm truly convinced that this might be in fact the 'word of God', just from looking at it through a literary perspective. Yes, the divine book through literary perspective. It's really fascinating, to the point that I've been putting off music for myself. And I'm actually planning to make a discussion about it here in the future.
 | Ryus top 5 albums ever tbhimo
 | robertsona howd ya hear that new michael pisaro? would love to hear it
 | Divaman Not gonna get into the dispute as to whether the Paddy McAloon album should have been allowed, but I gave it a listen tonight, and it's a beauty.
 | JohnnyoftheWell Gave Answer a check and can't get over how good Recreation is. What's Futurama's vibe?
 | Papa Universe "Seems like Johnny took the reins this time" means?
 | Papa Universe too the reins when and how and how and when and what's with it now?
 | Papa Universe is the user review comp ever coming back? also, cheers on TV Personalities
 | JohnnyoftheWell Btw your album to review is Keith Jarrett - The Survivor's Suite; have fun on it!
 | Jethro42 Hi Fripp, have you heard The Claypool Lennon Delirium? I really think you would dig it. Pronounced psychedelic surrounded by great melodies. Only 2 LPs and one EP so far, but also some live stuff on Youtube.
 | gagnonov you were right about secrets of the beehive, album is growing on me
 | BMDrummer if u want a .txt file of all my ratings, i still have them boi
 | BMDrummer lmao the rating system here sux and most of them were old anyway, didn't wanna sift through the duds anymore
 | neekafat Nice Us rating, it really grows on you over time tho
 | DoofDoof It is a bit suspicious it came out right after Hats and sounds little like the previous album. Willing to give the benefit of the doubt, it works and has a different flavour to Hats. Less a specifically late night imagery album.
 | granitenotebook also sorry to hear about scott walker. idk how you react to celeb deaths but hope you're doing ok.
 | granitenotebook listening to something, anything? and it?s really good. thanks for rec
 | DoofDoof Yes, the CD arrived earlier than expected from the good ol? U S of A
 | SandwichBubble I liked Inner Monologue off Panda's newest, so maybe one song on the new album for him. Like Ringo
 | SandwichBubble I feel like they're on the upswing, aside from Panda, but I'm not the biggest fan of his solo stuff anyway. Avey killed it on this one though.
 | SandwichBubble Rules as expected, I knew I'd see you with the correct rating.
 | sixdegrees https://img.fireden.net/v/image/1480/91/1480919973733.webm ahhhhhhh
 | DoofDoof Didn't like the It's Immaterial debut album too much but I tried two songs off the one you rec'd and they were so good I have ordered a cheap second hand copy I found...so hopefully the rest is as good. Seems like the sort of thing I like to pick up on CD ;D
 | user you still kickin it?
 | BMDrummer i still need to hear it, downloaded it a couple days ago
 | OmairSh Nicee. Yeah man, I've been pretty MIA. Been visiting a bit recently
 | OmairSh Yo congrats on becoming a staff writer dude. When did that happen
 | user aaron fripp hello
 | Lord(e)Po)))ts That's good! I think around them jamie was much more consistent but since hes just so unpredictable
 | Dedes Idk man guess we'll seeI'm just here to promote stuff that riffs n slams
 | brainmelter holy crab I didn?t even know that was a thing, will czech it asap
 | ArsMoriendi Nice Love's Secret Domain rating. Great album, especially that closer.
 | ArsMoriendi Thanks for the White Noise rec by the way, it's as me as music can get lol.
 | ArsMoriendi Olympus? Is that a discord group? I'm only in Vex honestly.
 | ArsMoriendi I'm kinda surprised. I've chatted with him on discord once (like with mics) and he was super chill and stuff. Is he like bipolar? Also, if it really is Aiwaz, that's extra embarrassing cuz he's supposedly in his 40s.
 | ArsMoriendi Sorry, I tend to guess the more hostile ones are him because he's had a history of that. Who is it then, Ghost? idk
 | SandwichBubble Thing is, some of those that only had one review were a lot older (2005-9), so he'd probably want thosed if he's trying to cover his internet footprint :(
 | SandwichBubble Even though I think that sounds like a fantastic idea, I don't know if he'd appreciate the thought the same way we do. | I really hope he doesn't everything, cause there are albums with like 100s of comments that'll just be wiped completely.

 | DoofDoof Yeah, I'm not sure I'm invested enough in one dude with a record contract's opinions on such to have no musical worth supporting it - sure he is an interesting chap and some of Xiu Xiu's early songs were intriguing. New 'sound art' thing they just released sounded like sub-Prurient stuff given to a drama class to 'interpret' and was a bit obnoxious for me - maybe that is the point but I am mainly in the listening business for some entertainment.
 | DoofDoof The point of Xiu Xiu if not musical is?
 | TalonsOfFire I guess because there's no bonus tracks that's true for the Megahertz remaster. My review is essentially information about it right now, so I might just add it to the bio section for Paddy. If you have a review for it ready you might as well post it. I might write something for Crimson Red, I've been digging that one a lot lately.
 | TalonsOfFire Does the new one have a release date? And I thought you or I or someone would add a new entry for the remastered version, since it's a new release under the Prefab Sprout name and not the solo one from 2003. That's what I meant when I said I could review either one.
 | TalonsOfFire Did you say you were gonna review I Trawl the Megahertz? If so, the remaster coming out today or the original? I'm writing something for it at the moment, but so far it could apply to either one. I can take whichever version you're not doing if you're reviewing it.
 | butcherboy will do, Frippy! Thanks.. if it doesn?t work out, it?s alright, you?ve already spent too much money on shopping and import taxes s***e.. I appreciate it
 | butcherboy ill call the local post office and check.. email me the details, please, Frippy!
 | butcherboy hmm.. was it delivered today? Because I haven?t been home yet
 | butcherboy not yet.. but there are intermittent postal strikes happening here
 | DoofDoof It?s there...but I have seen people say a little David Bowie ?Low? is in the mix and you can definitely hear that. I think it is somewhere between HD and FF in terms of their sound and is solid (if a teeny bit by the numbers)
