  • dbizzles My pleasure. Glad to share.

  • danielcardoso Aren't you gonna carry on with your "search for the worst" thing? :]
    December 9 01:31 PM
  • macman76 no, you gotta request it.
    November 27 10:17 PM
  • Snowdog808 I understand. Insipid and dull really does describe them well. At the very least they are disbanded though, so maybe this will allow different and far better bands to reach higher positions on the US Independent charts.
    November 14 02:40 PM
  • Snowdog808 I understand. It's certainly not for everyone, especially Celtic Frost's more experimental take on it. Monotheist I'd say is more of a doom metal album though. Was that BOTDF album tormenting to listen too? Even though their album Bitchcraft is without question the worst album I've ever heard, I wasn't necessarily tortured by it because I was reading in the comfort of home while hearing it, plus it is about as short as a 50s rock album, just much more horrible.
    November 14 12:41 PM
  • Snowdog808 Nice mini-reviews on more abominations of audio Code! Have you heard any of the pre-Cold Lake Celtic Frost albums? The two full-lengths before it are two of my favorite exteme albums of the mid to late 80s.
    November 13 06:45 PM
  • Snowdog808 I know he didn't have any albums among that 51, but I was thinking that you could potentially listen to one of them as a continuation of the Search. I doubt you can find a worse artist than Blood on the Dance Floor though.
    November 11 10:13 AM
  • Snowdog808 Hi Code. Do you plan on hearing any Kenny G albums in the Search for the Worst? I can't say he's the worst artist I've heard, but I agree with the consensus that he is not only one of the worst jazz artists, but one of the worst in popular music in general too.
    November 10 09:06 PM
  • CaliggyJack Sorry bout that. I'm usually accused of being the very thing you described so I just assumed it was me you were talking about. Downright silly of me and I apologize, I usually don't jump to conclusions like that.

  • Sevengill beats me. guys like to be horny and girls like to be offended?
    August 12 12:58 AM
  • Sevengill idk, posting weiner pics already sets you back a good ways. not that it would bother me xD
    August 11 11:31 PM
  • Sevengill yeah and don't make fun of my cat sounds sheesh, I get confused sometimes okay
    August 11 11:10 PM
  • Sevengill yeah that was Ivan Shapovalov's masterwork, their manager. then they terminated his contract, had him run over by a truck in the video for Not Gonna Get Us, Yulia got knocked up, and ten years later they performed their big comeback show at the Socci olympics, only to break up again a week later.
    August 11 11:05 PM
  • Sevengill haha I had the biggest crush on Yulia for years but she turned out to be kind of a bitch. no sweat, I've still got a signed copy of the Beliy Plaschik single
    August 11 10:52 PM
  • Sevengill Dead Dead in the bed. It's from Until the Light Takes Us.

    June 1 03:22 AM
  • TalonsOfFire I jammed Chelsea Wolfe's latest three, and they were all fantastic. I think Abyss might be my favorite, she really goes the extra mile on it.
    May 31 12:49 PM
  • TalonsOfFire Cool sounds like my kinda thing, I'll let ya know what I think
    April 28 10:37 PM
  • TalonsOfFire I've heard a bunch of songs by Chelsea Wolfe and love them, the stuff I've heard from Abyss in particular were very cool, but never got around to trying a full-length album. I'll check the one you mentioned first.
    April 28 10:27 PM
  • TalonsOfFire Shadows does stuff to me, it's so captivating and profound. I've never heard anything like it. I love the first few songs on Perdition City, but the second half is a little underwhelming as a result until Nowhere/Catastrophe. Dead City Centers would be amazing but there's that awful screeching dog whistles that I have to skip.
    April 28 10:26 PM
  • TalonsOfFire At this point I'm a much bigger fan of shoegazing and post-rock than alt. metal which is probably why I prefer their lighter side in discovering the band this late. White Pony is fantastic though, I like all their stuff. Atmospheric is the perfect word for Ulver, they're incredible. Shadows of the Sun or Bergtatt would be my favorites by them, Perdition City is up there too.
    April 28 10:07 PM
  • TalonsOfFire Yeah u have a very recognizable username, and nice. I love all their songs, but they do go overboard with interludes on Aenima and 10X Days. I recently discovered Deftones, but prefer their latest 4. Nice Ulver ratings too. My review for Gore is still flagged which is cool, probably my most viewed one. It's their most subtle and definitely needs a lot of listens to sink in, a lot of people with low ratings have judged it too quickly by the nature of some comments. You jammed it yet?
    April 28 09:48 PM
  • TalonsOfFire That Diamond Eyes rating :/ and nice prof pic haha. I think we messaged about Tool a while ago, you ever get around to jamming them?
    April 28 08:50 PM

    October 25 10:40 PM
  • omgbecky Yup, gn.
    October 15 01:58 AM
  • omgbecky You had me thinking that was a band. What system are you playing on? Crabcore ftw!
    October 15 01:43 AM
  • omgbecky His voice isn't anything spectacular, but his lyrics are for the most part hilarious. He had a drummer on stage with him. Made for a better show imo. Got to meet him afterwards and he was totally sweet :D Id most of my ratings. They didn't really match how I felt. Sup?
    October 15 12:30 AM
  • omgbecky Lol, you and everyone else I know.

  • omgbecky Life is gonna suck for the next three months. I sart a pt job next week and that's in addition to working ft. Aside from Halloween and a few select concert my life will be a work sleep routine. Didn't really think to branch out. I'll probably check out the smiths next. Sup?
    October 4 02:24 AM
  • omgbecky Checked out Bloodflowers. Enjoyable.
    September 29 11:56 PM
  • omgbecky I've never had biscotti before. And judging from the looks of it I probably never will lol. When it comes to food I am not adventurous. So far, I've listened to Kiss Me x3 and Disintegration. Not really sure which way to go next. Awh man, I absolutely love Sink. Been dying to hear new BN.
    September 22 11:26 PM
  • omgbecky I like them enough to check out there other stuff. Slowly working through there discography. How are you liking culinary school so far?
    September 16 05:43 PM
  • omgbecky Hey oh. You ever go on those trips? I'm almost sure it was you that told me to check out The Cure. If not then idek. Finally gave them an honest listen

    July 24 12:20 AM
  • TalonsOfFire If you're into TGOO check out Thantifaxath if you haven't yet, I wrote a review for it too. Very underrated black metal from this year
    July 23 04:07 PM
  • TalonsOfFire Haha most likely, not much just been jamming a lot of the new Opeth and The Great Old Ones. Have you fallen in love with any albums this year yet? Those are probably among my AOTYs
    July 23 10:33 AM
  • TalonsOfFire That's prob a good idea, let it sink in fully before diving into the next one
    July 22 10:50 PM
  • TalonsOfFire You jam Lateralus yet?

  • TalonsOfFire Sorry my message got cut off, what I meant to say was that 46
    July 19 12:52 PM
  • TalonsOfFire Yeah the first song's not one of the standouts, and there's tons of filler tracks. Eulogy, H., 46
    July 19 10:59 AM
  • Mongi123 I love them both equally man. They both have some of the most engaging storytelling in any medium imo. Bioshock 2 isn't too shabby either.
    June 15 04:40 PM
  • Mongi123 Haha nice, bioshock is amazing.
    June 15 09:31 AM
  • demigod!
    June 1 03:56 AM
  • laughingman22 wow glad you enjoyed it. by the way nice Bauhaus and siouxsie and the banshees ratings, not many people on here that appreciate that type of music
    June 1 03:55 AM
  • laughingman22 thank you. Been trying to find some good recent metal
    June 1 02:42 AM
  • omgbecky I get distracted with life. How is work going? Idek if I know what you do. Have you gone on your trips/gotten them sorted out yet? What were you thinking of studying???
    January 31 05:11 PM
  • paxman Hey gurl how you been
    January 23 05:29 PM
  • omgbecky Man, I've been crazy busy. /: How have you been???
    December 8 01:41 AM
  • omgbecky Everything you've heard is true. He's unbelievably nice. Yup, it's all about contentedness.
    October 19 01:49 AM
  • omgbecky Yaaaaaay! I am glad to hear that ACBTLD has grown on you. :D I finally got to meet Geoff Rickly. I seriously geeked out. I find geology to be quite captivating. At one point, I was an English/film major, but I changed that when I figured I'd be happier as a geologist. Aside from Swans, I haven't listened to anything interesting. But then again I haven't been looking much either.
    October 6 05:27 AM
  • omgbecky I work in retail and I study geology. How is the new job? Listen to anything interesting lately?
    October 2 02:02 AM
  • omgbecky Gotta love TAAS! I work and go to school. How's that job search going?
    September 10 02:10 AM
  • omgbecky Yeah, the mood must strike. I am well. How say you?
    September 3 10:23 PM
  • omgbecky Jamestown Story is a one man band. Mainly cutesy acoustic stuff. Just started listening to some old Pianos Become the Teeth. Omg, soooooooo good.
    August 30 11:41 PM
  • omgbecky Rehashing the same old bands. I am seriously in a rut, but it's mainly Thursday so I don't care. I am loving Jamestown Story's new album.
    August 18 03:56 AM
  • omgbecky Of course it is. It's ****ing Thrice.
    August 18 03:36 AM
  • omgbecky That is the one album of theirs that I haven't heard :o
    August 18 03:34 AM
  • omgbecky I started with The Alchemy Index and worked my way backwards. Idk how you could not love Beggars. I could listen to that on repeat all day. I feel like if I ever hated an album by a band, they would just be ruined for me :/
    August 18 03:18 AM
  • omgbecky Yeah, you need a good body of work for that kind of appreciation. I would have include Thrice on my list, but I haven't heard all their stuff yet. So far so good.
    August 18 02:19 AM
  • Jennifer22 Thanks! I'm going for a mix of Post-Rock with natural sounds and some light guitar here and there. I'm really influenced by Godspeed You! Black Emperor as of late.
    August 15 12:54 PM
  • Jennifer22 True. I need to figure out if I use an electric what tuning I want this in, was going to go with Drop D but it's so overused and I don't want my music to come off like that.
    August 15 12:41 PM
  • Jennifer22 Yeah, I have to try I guess, it's just writing guitar parts takes ages for me.
    August 15 12:26 PM
  • Jennifer22 I'm not confident enough in my guitar skills to make my own music. The Matchbox songs I'm thinking of covering are either Unwell or Bright Lights.
    August 15 12:22 PM
  • Jennifer22 Yeah, it's a tie between that Emarosa song I linked and between two songs by Matchbox Twenty. I need to get better at producing material and learn at least acoustic guitar.
    August 15 01:40 AM
  • MrElmo Just love the L4D's makes for awesome mods and multiplayer, as for HL we can only wait (damn not even one teaser). Anyway stay trve and see you around mate
    August 14 05:22 PM
  • Jennifer22 It's a tie right now between Emarosa and Matchbox Twenty. I really want to cover a Matchbox Twenty song, but one note in the song is lower than my usual register and is really hard to sing.
    August 14 01:18 PM
  • MrElmo Half-Life 3 (if it ever comes out) will probably be really really damn good but people will be dissapointed whatever happens because of the wait and hype building, in any case there's always gonna be Left 4 Dead 3 to ease the patience.
    August 14 06:12 AM
  • MrElmo I can't remember, I think it's independant from it.... at worst getting half-life two is also damn worth it ;)
    August 13 01:10 PM
  • MrElmo Also If you're into horror games have you played the half-life mod Cry of Fear? (sequel to Afraid of Monsters) If not it's a really really good indie horror/survival game and I'd really recommend it if you've had trouble with recent horror games!
    August 12 03:39 PM
  • MrElmo Ha ok, considered a few times to get into 12 (as it's the only one I can play since I don't own a PS). Yeah I played Bioshock 1 (a perfect game imo!) and loved the soundtrack, also loved Deus Ex but oddly didn't pay much attention to the music. Cool didn't know I could dl the SH soundtracks like that, I'll be sure to look into that thanks! (hope they don't come with the sounds of the monsters, never want to hear that freak with the sound of rollers ever again!).
    August 12 03:36 PM
  • Jennifer22 Yep. I think I'm going to cover this song -
    August 12 12:34 AM
  • Jennifer22 To be honest, none really. I just got into singing on a whim. Practiced for a couple years and finally feel like recording it.
    August 12 12:17 AM
  • Jennifer22 I can send a demo when my microphone gets mailed back to me if you want. I don't really know what I sound like.
    August 11 11:59 PM
  • omgbecky I'm surprised you didn't include Skycamefalling.
    August 11 10:38 PM
  • Jennifer22 Thanks! If you can learn basic chords we could do the collaboration if you wanted to. I really just want to test out my voice and how I've worked on it.
    August 11 09:05 PM
  • omgbecky Couldn't find a decent link for it, but I checked out Disintegration on YouTube and it wasn't too shabby. The Cure is a "sometimes" band for me. As for Waiting, I can understand. I happen to love the unrefined quality of Waiting. I can find no wrong with Thursday.
    August 10 10:21 PM
  • MrElmo Still it's always cool to see someone paying attention to game scores, what would be the best soundtracks you've heard mate? Also lots of metal too, might check into that Horn of Rhino album you reviewed cuz it looks good...
    August 10 03:20 PM
  • Jennifer22 Same thing really, I'm trying to find someone to make an acoustic collaboration with, but I can't find anyone who plays acoustic guitar. That's my main focus at the moment.
    August 10 02:57 PM
  • MrElmo Nice tits then, got to follow The Last of Us on let's plays and damn some of the best writting I've seen in video games in terms of scenario (even though the game is far from perfect to me). Yeah I spent about 6 months without buying any games and just recently I bought about 7 games secondhand (gotta say it felt damn good) with Hitman and Bioshock Infinite being my favorite recent games. Ah ok for the soundtracks, gotta say the only ff I played was the second one and I ****ing hated it :/
    August 10 02:47 PM
  • Jennifer22 Yeah, personal taste really is the big thing here. I don't view anyone's tastes as lower, regardless of whether they enjoy Beethoven or Brokencyde. But how have you been, how has Sputnikmusic been?
    August 10 01:58 PM
  • Jennifer22 I'm Jennifer (obviously) and thanks! I don't really view myself as having better taste, I just love music in general. I don't feel bands are bad unless they claim they don't take their music seriously (exceptions being comedy styled bands), I just feel individual albums are poor in themselves.
    August 10 01:49 PM
  • Jennifer22 Yeah, I have so much music to rate that I listened to while I was away.
    August 10 01:41 PM
  • Jennifer22 Thanks! I actually didn't have internet, I wasn't chased off by Sputnik.
    August 10 01:30 PM
  • MrElmo Cheers I always like talking about games even though I rarely have enough money to keep up with all the new releases, you also seem to know your gaming especially horror? And damn never seen someone with so much "soundtrack" in their pie chart!
    August 10 08:47 AM
  • omgbecky LMAO! Kiss Me is good but I can never listen to it all the way through. As for skycamefalling, there is potential for that rating to change. I like it, but I don't love it yet. And how is it that you have Waiting/ACBTLD at a three? :o
    August 6 03:16 AM
  • omgbecky I prefer If Only You Were Lonely as well. If I were you, I'd probably skip the Stripped Down to the Bone ep. It's nothing to brag about, but it does have a pretty sweet version of Hate on it.
    August 6 02:37 AM
  • YakNips Agreed hard. The Robot With Human Hair 2 is soooo good though
    July 25 02:37 PM
  • YakNips Yeah, but I still hope the new album has some better songs
    July 25 02:02 PM
  • YakNips Death Star is great. And yeah so is that song :D Glad you dig DGD
    July 25 01:49 AM
  • YakNips It's really hard for me to rank them, but my fave is probably Downtown Battle Mountain.
    July 25 01:39 AM
  • YakNips You have heard correctly sir
    July 25 01:30 AM
  • ChopSuey you're gay
    July 18 08:44 PM
  • ChuckyTruant rules, real hard haha
    July 16 07:36 PM
  • ChuckyTruant The rest of the MS discog and new Counterparts
    July 16 07:00 PM
  • ChuckyTruant Haha sweet. Yeah man it rules.
    July 16 09:41 AM
  • ChuckyTruant I love it. Really sweet and cool album
    July 15 10:54 AM
  • omgbecky Yeah, I heard that song. Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder brought on the feels for me! I am pretty biased when it comes to HH. I really like them. Idk, you should give their stuff a listen and decide for yourself.
    July 9 02:44 AM
  • omgbecky Zero is def. better than Fragile Futures. It starts out pretty poppy, but it evens out about halfway through. I checked out Zao. I like the music, but man, the vocals. The vocals. Poison the Well was more my speed.
    July 8 11:59 PM
  • omgbecky Yeah, they're pretty good. I believe someone had rec'd those to me before, but like most other things I'll eventually get to it. HH's new album is not what I expected. Much like Hate, but I love that now.I'm really excited to see them at Warped! What do you think of their new album?
    July 6 04:16 AM
  • SugarCubeEmpire it kind of depends. I mostly just pirate a heap of albums onto my ipod and then end up listening to them when I feel like it. I end up procrastinating a lot though. which is dumb. Your method seems a lot more effective hhaha.
    July 6 12:10 AM
  • SugarCubeEmpire it's like pop punk, but without the punk it claims it contains. Just s***ty pop punk basically haha. Yeah, it's also cool to see the development in styles I've enjoyed in the past.
    July 5 09:12 AM
  • SugarCubeEmpire aw they're not that terrible. Only a little cringe-worthy hahha. Okay, they're pretty bad. I imagine I would have loved them out of ignorance if I had discovered them before sputnik. the first band I really 'got' into was mcr actually, so not really too shameful. But there was a period where I tried to enjoy kind of summery pop-'punk' in order to be a cool kid. I prefer to think of it as a time of musical growth. Or just not remember it at all.
    July 5 01:56 AM
  • omgbecky Yup, I love Hawthorne Heights. I scrolled through your ratings and see you like Skycamefalling. I just started listening to them.
    July 4 06:03 PM
  • SugarCubeEmpire hahaha. I don't really know much about Aiden, apart from how everyone apparently hates them, so I've just decided to stay faaaar away. And don't worry ahah, I've had embarrassing tastes in music in the past. Unfortunately slightly more recent past, since I only branched out of the s***ty-pop-punk-phase about four months ago. /shudders
    July 4 09:34 AM
  • omgbecky Lmao! Your Pearly Whites is the best. I also love Gadget Arms.
    July 3 12:00 AM
  • omgbecky Word
    July 2 05:17 AM
  • omgbecky Oxeneers with Tail Swallower coming in close behind. What about you?
    July 2 04:52 AM
  • omgbecky I love me some TAAS. There is something about Steve Snere that I can't get past. Do you listen to any of their associated acts?
    June 30 02:25 AM
  • SugarCubeEmpire Pencey were an...odd band to say the least. He's got an odd voice. They play a mix of sorta pop-punk/-alt-rock?/-hardcore?/I-don't-even-know. Lots of fun, if you like/can put up his voice though. they have a very unique sound.
    June 29 10:16 AM
  • SugarCubeEmpire I had actually! Not heard the best reviews of it though. I'll check it out if you think it's worth it. The guy actually had a band before his mcr days called Pencey Prep, who had one album that's pretty good fun too. He's an odd vocalist.
    June 29 02:18 AM
  • SugarCubeEmpire oh yeah! demolition lovers, vampires with never hurt you and early sunsets over monroeville are probably my favourites on bullets. they're just so creative and experimentful. though most of the album is sweet. I love skylines and turnstiles.
    June 28 04:49 AM
  • SugarCubeEmpire yeah, tbp went a little overboard with the band's vision. Cancer was a bit of a flop. but there were some great songs on there. I do think three cheers really defines the band for what it was- Bullets had a lovely rawness to the lyrics and sound, too. they weren't pressured into marketing to teenage girls at that point, and could experiment how they liked with songs like headfirst for halos or that one cool vampire one.

  • SugarCubeEmpire the used- Artwork is surprisingly good too, though it takes a couple of listens to appreciate. And I think mcr's first album is way under-loved, it's so much fun. With Danger Days, I admire Gerard's vision and artsiness, and it's got some songs I think are up there with their best, but I felt like the whole futuristic-pop-rebel-synth thing kind of drowned out what made the band who they were. it was still pretty fun, if you didn't take it too seriously. Conventional Weapons was freaking ace tho.

  • SugarCubeEmpire Mcr and the used are my nostalgic guilty pleasures :') and a bit of mediocre pop punk. though I still totally respect the used, they're still pretty decent. and I think I had a breaking benjamin and 30stm phase somewhere in there, if only for diary of jane and The Kill. Loved those songs a little too much.

  • SugarCubeEmpire Yeah, I'm only really listening to white lies, I heard they went downhill mega-ly. I don't really know the Classic Crime very well either- Billy Talent's vocalist is nearly unbearable, but in an unbearably good way. I just adore their first self titled thing. Nostalgia or something silly.
    June 26 05:51 AM
  • SugarCubeEmpire ahah yeah I have so many freaking bands on the go it ain't funny. I don't really know fear before that well honestly, but I'll take your word for it and put their s/t on my long list for later! I only recently got into/into music so I'm just trying to digest as many bands as possible. Right now, hmm... the Classic Crime, Billy Talent and Lovehatehero are my last listens.
    June 26 03:29 AM
  • SugarCubeEmpire I'll definitely hunt it down then! and I've been meaning to get into more of the cure, they're ****ing brilliant. thank you very much!
    June 26 02:26 AM
  • SugarCubeEmpire I've actually got Doppleganger already, and I'm really enjoying it! The Cure are great. I've only really heard bits and pieces of their other albums as well as Imaginary Boys though. I'll probably begin with dgd's most popular album, assuming it's the most accessible, and if I dig the sound then track down their other albums.
    June 25 04:53 AM

  • paxman Oh, and thanks for rating Major/Minor a 5. Thrice need all the support they can get because they're an underground indie band with not very many fans.
    January 28 10:16 AM
  • paxman Pretty brutal. I stopped cold turkey. But my support group is nice and there's a hot chick in it and I brought my guitar to one of the meetings. I told her to pretend I was serenading her and she said it was beautiful.

    November 1 05:53 PM

  • sixdegrees haha it's gonna take one hell of a reboot to erase the memories of emo spiderman.
    October 1 09:43 PM
  • sixdegrees yeah, they need to realize that no one watches these movies for teen angst bulls***.
    October 1 09:37 PM

    October 1 09:07 PM
