 | Hawks Hell yeah my man its so good.
 | Anthracks i love it. i love how it's basically one constantly expanding and shifting track. kevin's experimental side is always his most exciting. i really like his current lyrical trend as well - he's found a great way to make his hyper-personal lyrics seem less subjective. one of my main issues with some of the more recent albums was that he didn't even attempt to veil a lot of his personal traumas, and he's definitely been showing more lyrical prowess.

 | origrinspun Hi man thanks for your concern :) I use this site mainly for my own archival purposes. I like to have those "best of year" lists and them over time as I get to know more and more albums. Before I knew you could block people from commenting, almost all of the comments were judgemental, toxic or just plain irrelevant (it's 100% subjective anyway). The current situation is good for me :) Thanks though.
 | Anthracks there's also wet butcher's fist and middle class ghetto, which are two very short outtakes from skeletal lamping. there's still supposedly some unreleased material from skeletal. he just posted an unreleased verse to st. exquisite on Instagram a couple weeks ago. my favorite archival stuff is the pre-cherry peel stuff, which he told me he has hundreds of songs still unreleased from that period
 | Sevengill thanks, glad you agree! it's definitely one of the hulking monsters of black metal, even if it's not easy to take all at once.
 | Satellite my goal is to naturally become frank someday
 | e210013 Yesterday, I finished my saga about the prog path of José Cid. Yesterday, I put my last review about him, his EP "Vida (Sons Do Quotidiano)". As I know that you liked his other works and this is another great piece, almost unknown, I thought that you might be interested on it. Cheers and tel me something before.
 | SteakByrnes Thanks for the love on my avatar my dude, I love it as well. Artorias is my favorite boss from any Dark Souls game :]
 | FruityCatOfDoom THIS IS TRUE THIS IS TRUE THIS IS TRUE THIS IS TRUE THIS IS TRUE THIS IS TRUE. okayokay
 | RE: what pop song on new Bermuda - the ending bit of Brought to the Water, to me, sounds exactly like that SixPence None the Richer "kiss me" song from the 90s. I just sent my friend this link cuz he told me I was crazy. I'm not alone apparently.
 | beefshoes Thanks man. I wanted to like it more, but it didn't click with me. I'd rather them keep doing this style though as opposed to simply regurgitating old material to please long time fans. I just hope that they grow and become better songwriters (within the style) with future material.
 | zakalwe Yep that was great, entering the mind of the paranoid milkman or whatever it was. Grim always takes it for me though. The open mic night is one of the greatest things ever devised.
 | JohnnyoftheWell I just smashed out a new review - you might well like this album: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/65780/Save-Us-From-The-Archon-How-Terrible,-The-Undergrowths-Jaws-That-Tangle./

 | DoctorDoom Yeah, a long time ago, really good stuff. I wish he'd do a follow-up. Would love to hear about the eras that followed Antichrist.
 | DoctorDoom Highly agree with your comments on Antichrist Superstar.
 | JohnnyoftheWell Book of Horizons is probably my favourite, but the Ishraqiyun songs on Book of Souls A are better and generally filthier (the rhythms and cut/paste composition are crazy), and Book M is excellent too. I need to check out Xaphan sometime though...
 | JohnnyoftheWell Oh wow, that most awkward moment when I looked at the second most recent message I sent you, only to realise that it's more raving about Idalah-Abal *facepalm* In fairness I did listen it a few more times since that message, along with some other live EM vids :P Btw, have you heard much Secret Chiefs 3?
 | JohnnyoftheWell Wow, the EM version of Idalah-Abal is awesome - I still prefer the Zevulun version, but wow! Mmm TLJ was okay, but it just didn't grab me and probably got quite a generous 3.5. Thanks, I'll check Magick out soon, probably along with some earlier Moonchild albums :]
 | JohnnyoftheWell Haha I was actually thinking of doing so yesterday - I heard their version of Idalah-Abal, and it blew my mind (although I narrowly prefer the Zevulun version). I will do at some stage, but I've got Interzone and The Last Judgement on rotation atm. Btw, any recs for classical Zorn?
 | ArsMoriendi Yeah, a lot of classic guitar solos. It was the first Zappa album Steve Vai was even on if that says anything.
 | ArsMoriendi It's actually my favorite from his 80s stuff. It's heavy on the humor, but in a good way, so if you like that then definitely.
 | ArsMoriendi I was reading the comments in the You Are What You Is thread. Did you ever end up checking out the album?
 | JohnnyoftheWell The Last Judgement; it's a sequel to Templars and their final album...awesome, I'll check it out :]
 | JohnnyoftheWell Hey dude, have you heard the new Moonchild yet? Also, how much do Spillane and The Bribe have in common?
 | xenocide. For DsO I'd rec you Kriegsmaschine - Enemy of Man.Ulcerate is a great band, but the're not black metal.
 | Lambda Thanks man, glad you're liking them!
 | JohnnyoftheWell True that; when I return to it, I'll probably end up listening to individual sections more often than not. I think you've over taken me when it comes to Zorn; I need to hear some more (although my Grand Guignol cd arrived the other day)! No, haven't gotten onto Painkiller yet - what should I expect?
 | Static and dunno, they kept almost everything from the recording down to that "boom" in telos at like the 7 min mark. it's also like their tightest performance ever.
 | Oceanographer I'd like to go to concerts but all the concerts I've been to have been really macho and violent. I'm a fairly small person and don't feel like getting beat up just to watch a band I like. Metal culture really pisses me off sometimes honestly.
 | Oceanographer I need to rate some of my favorite non-metal albums. I feel like rating music is really hard, assigning a number to a work of art, you know?
 | JohnnyoftheWell It's basically a click-and-wait, so hassle :] Cool, have fun
 | Iluvatar nah man its a hidden stream, sorryyyyy
 | Rhyme new toby in 320: http://www39.zippyshare.com/v/45383132/file.html also regarding bands similar to kayo/maudlin, try baliset cuz it has one old member from maudlin and another from kayo dot
 | Lord(e)Po)))ts yeah that seems to be the staple rec to people looking for stuff in the vein haha
 | Lord(e)Po)))ts "Do you know any bands similar to kayo/maudlin??" this is more like the more orchestral side of kayo but its awesome http://www.sputnikmusic.com/soundoff.php?albumid=155363
 | Rhyme i believe you have had some interest in the new toby driver so here: http://www55.zippyshare.com/v/21774075/file.html warning its only in 128 kbps cuz the 320 kbps one was taking forever and im still in the process for downloading it which may take a couple of days
 | musicalmedicine I'm not a long-time Bob Dylan fan either, started listening to his music back in 2010 and I adore his work. Bringing It All Back Home is definately in my top 3 Bob Dylan albums, with Blonde On Blonde (my 2nd favorite Bob Dylan) and my number 1, Blood On The Tracks. Listen to it, it is wonderful. I know, I was joking too...I guess.
 | musicalmedicine Oh, and speaking of Bob Dylan, have you ever heard Blood On The Tracks? It's a wonderful album and I don't see it on your ratings. One of the best Bob Dylan albums, if not his best.
 | musicalmedicine I was kidding, man, but it would be a pleasant thing tbh. And that wouldn't be an issue, I love Bob Dylan as much as I love Thom Yorke.
 | musicalmedicine You work at Toys R Us? Get me a Thom Yorke action figure, I beg you!
 | Anthracks He has more songs hidden away from that era, too
 | mindleviticus I'm just disappointed that they're not able to captivate me like they used. Dour Pourcentage and Spiteful Intervention did the job on the last album and I was hoping this new album would have at least 2-3 songs like that, but I was gravely disappointed
 | mindleviticus amphibian days and hegira migr are very good songs though
 | mindleviticus I just don't find it very imaginative, interesting, ambitious or good. The song's are boring and bland and I just don't like this direction they're leading into.
 | Anthracks yes i'm dying to hear the rest of it. he's already played imbecile rages and amphibian days before, and triumph of disintegration is a paralytic stalks-era b-side
 | Anthracks this is the song he played for me backstage
 | crazyblinddude yeah man i was just talking about it. it's definitely the best thing nate has ever done. cool that you like it.
 | minusthebeer dude. mewithoutyou brother, sister. such a heavy emotional album. you're the man for digging it. I'm digging that sheet too.
