 | Slex what would you rate Summertime '06? I don't think i saw a rating from you for it. I finally got around to listening to it recently and it absolutely blew me away and I've been spinning it non-stop now
 | Jots ya dude and ~apparently~ LUM is dropping Oblivion Access soon...?
 | PurpleBottle best new hip hop please. please. (heart) {sock}
 | Jots this Little Simz album is rad. aside from that, probably not much you'd fuk with tbh.. tho you might like this Heat Dust album a bit
 | Jots yea, what other releases are lookin good to u
 | Jots Black Wing is a HANL side project, so maybe your ish (?) :]
 | Jots the emoji shoutbox game is lacking, I'll be sure to give MX what-for
 | Jots yo aziz check trick dice mah man
 | SgtPepper enjoy. let me know what you think of clutchy. i really like him, but friends that ive introduced him to find him boring. kind of a hit or miss guy
 | SgtPepper some of these are jazzy, others just kind of flirt with jazzy textures or go for a psychedelic type of vibe. anyway, i hope i was at least of some help. cheers.
 | SgtPepper idk of many LPs from this year but here's stuff ive been listening to if youre still interested: 1. clutchy hopkins (story teller, walking backwards, life of eugene harrington - rec: "truth seekin") 2. klaus layer (captain crook, restless adventures (2015) - "into a sky") 3. jazzanova (*technically nu jazz but worth looking into, in between - "another new day) 4. k-def (the exhibit, one man band - "improvs from the brain") 5. nomak (very nujabes-y stuff - calm, dynamic meditation - "soarer")
 | Hurricanslash Ay man, I don't think this was so clear in the thread, but you and your homies really dropped a fine tape. Big, big, big, big, big props.
 | Koris Hey man, how's it been?
 | Arcade yo if you could peep my Vince Staples review would be much appreciated
 | ExplosiveOranges Hahaha, I've been digging it a lot if I'm being entirely honest. The review should probably be up later today.
 | ExplosiveOranges Been spending the past couple days jamming to and reviewing the new Kamelot album. Any big hip hop digs so far?
 | Jots yea wrote my first hip-hop review because i was so inspired :o
 | Jots this new l'orange and jeremiah jae piece is pretty nice
 | Jots and thx man, didn't know you peeped my reviews but I'm glad you enjoyed
 | Jots ehh I give some mixed opinions in my review haha, it's not really on par with Iceage's stuff at all but worth listening to if you dig his voice. he doesn't utilize the backing band as much as he could, at least def not in the first half. it's sorta like if Iceage went Nick Cave
 | Jots this Marching Church joint is a side project from the lead singer of Iceage.. figured you might be interested possibly maybe
 | Guzzo10 I've been debating with myself whether gkmc is my fav or if tpab is. I think that in time tpab is going to end up being my favorite album of his, just because of how diverse everything is in it, ya feel. gkmc will always hold that nostalgic spot in my heart though because it's the first classic album that I grew up with.
 | Guzzo10 Bruh, don't think that I don't see your last.fm havin to pimp a butterfly on repeat, whats your perspective so far?
 | oltnabrick https://goropsy6.bandcamp.com/album/v-mac-and-cheese give my music a go, let me know what you think!
 | Willie I've been paying attention. I'm just a San Diego fan so I stick with Philip Rivers no matter what. He's going to have a good game this weekend... you'll see.
 | LambsBread yeah its the same guy. Holy Scriptures is his best album from 2011, Street Symphonies is his newest and it came out in March.
 | LambsBread dawg you should write a review for Ellay Khule - Holy Scriptures or Rifleman - Street Symphonies. ill give you a cyber BJ : O
 | betray yooo lmao u wanna trade 4 morris or nah
 | Skoj in all seriousness, your RtJ2 review was spot on. I'm pawing through your reviews, and you write well. Pretty cool stuff.
 | betray s***, just seeing those shouts. Nah... I'm not really willing to part ways with Gates sir.
 | Sowing yea I'm kinda more married to Dez than I thought andI really want to keep him...at this point it's too late but I would have wanted to retain him on my roster anyway - thanks for offering though!
 | ExplosiveOranges Lol, true. Also, just noticed your edits. Reads much better now.
 | Slex fucckk i forgot about Droog lol, that's actually probably my favorite this year
 | Slex i really like Niko Is so far. I still need to listen to Future actually, along with Shabazz, Clipping, and Mike Eagle. I've tried multiple times to listen to the Ratking album and it does absolutely nothing for me. Pinata, RTJ2, and Cilvia Demo are probably my favorites so far this year, The Roots album really grew off me. For me, i'm all about the lyricism and flows, thats what i look for. i've still only watched like 3 episodes of Attack on Titan lol
 | ExplosiveOranges Ah. Glad to see you noticed it even though it's been buried since under a mountain of s***posts, haha. But yeah, you're one of the best staffers on the website, and the review was very well-written, but I just felt like it could use a touch-up or two. Really glad to hear you like constructive criticism, though. It disappoints me when staffers and contribs think they're above criticism, but fortunately, not too many fit into that category.
 | Guzzo10 with the rate you writing reviews lately you gon make me come out of retirement b.
 | Slex hey I see you're kinda the rap/hip-hop guy of the staff, I was wondering if you could recommend me some good rap that may have flown under the radar or whatever, I feel like i've listened to everything this year
 | Trebor. what's up with that. You'll cowards don't even smoke crack
 | Sowing Depends man, make me an offer via shoutbox because I never check my team's page until like 10 minutes before kickoff each week
 | Yuli swee profile pic dawg
 | SeaAnemone lol I think whatever word you're trying to type is still gettingd but I get the msg I think thx
 | NordicMindset more like the giants sucked major dick and philly benefitted
 | ExplosiveOranges Part 2 is dropping soon, so you'd best get on that ASAP. And yes, On The Moon is better than In Paris.
 | ExplosiveOranges I dug NOTM more than Government Plates, and even a little more than No Love Deep Web. It was also really cool to have Bjork on the album. But yeah, The Bug's new album is definitely also worth checking out. So many jams, so little time.
 | ExplosiveOranges Yeah, the new Rustie album was a disappointment from what I heard. The Bug's new album was really good, though. Especially the track with Death Grips on it. Speaking of which, did you dig the new Death Grips album?
 | ExplosiveOranges Dude, I legitimately would've thought it was Nas's alter ego if it wasn't for the fact that it's been disproved thoroughly. But yeah, 'twas tight as ****. I also checked Run the Jewels' first album, and I plan on jamming Danny Brown's discography soon. So much great hip hop I've been missing out on.
 | ExplosiveOranges Dat Caribou rating. Also, I FINALLY CHECKED YOUR OLD DROOG THE OTHER DAY
 | ExplosiveOranges Dude, how do you have 0.1 increments on your pre-staffer reviews?
 | Jom I can work it in -- thanks much!
 | ExplosiveOranges Will do. Also, just noticed your Future rating. To be honest (ba dum tss), I really couldn't stand his rapping when I first heard it. Then again, though, that was back when I was an ignorant ****head who thought all pop/rap music was inferior.
 | ExplosiveOranges Pretty ****ing great southern hip hop. Might 5 A Piece of Strange soon.
 | ExplosiveOranges Unfortunately, I have not listened to him. I might give him a a shot to see if we have different opinions. Btw, I checked out Cunninlynguists.
 | ExplosiveOranges I tried that initially, but it said my username was too long. Oh well. Also, dat Vince Staples soundoff.
 | Sowing No joke there was a team owner who drafted Sam Bardford in the middle rounds in my other league. Like, a full 3 days after they announced he was injured out for the year. So yeah, I get the need to stay on top of stuff. Looking forward to the draft this evening, that's always been my favorite part of fantasy football besides the feeling of seeing your points pop up that first NFL Sunday.
 | Sowing Hahaha you'll outdraft me then. I used to strategize like crazy now I just kinda wing it. It's been working out for me though, I won 2 out of the last 3 years in my ESPN league.
 | Sowing Just a reminder the draft is tonight at 5:30 PDT / 8:30 EST
 | ExplosiveOranges Haha. Btw, why do you have like 100k plays with lastfm even though it says you joined a month ago?
 | Sowing Just a reminder that out draft is at 5:30 pm PDT tomorrow, that's 8:30 EST. Be sure to figure out your time zone and make yourself available to show up to the draft. We're all hoping for nearly perfect attendance!
 | Sowing I dropped you an email invite to join the league
 | RogueNine I'm a student at WKU (Bowling Green).
 | ExplosiveOranges Yeah, man! I'm not much for jazz, but I've been trying to get into it more lately. The obvious person to start with was Miles Davis, but I heard a lot of good stuff about BBNG, and decided to give them a shot.
 | LambsBread ur a cool dude and its been fun debating with you but im just sick if you and others talking down to me so anyway im out for a while. best wishes and ill cya in a while maybe
 | LambsBread yeah dude I know you think you know a lot but i'm just not going to waste my time arguing with someone who thinks Kendrick is better than 2pac. Its like arguing with someone who thinks Mccain is better than Ron Paul. peace
 | aok 34 reviews, staff and "you'll cowards don't even smoke crack" as profile pic .. i don't even know who you are but lets be bffs plz? thnx
 | ExplosiveOranges He's been getting better over the past few years, so who knows. On another note, you seem like a knowledgable source on hip hop. Have you seen any particularly good albums besides Droog as of recent? I've been trying to get into newer stuff lately.
 | ExplosiveOranges I've seen a lot of evidence to the contrary, and I agree that at his age, Nas probably wouldn't be as humorous and upbeat as Droog. I think it'd be pretty interesting if it actually is him, though.
 | ExplosiveOranges Lol, you really are one glorious bastard. Let's cut the bulls***, though: Do you think Your Old Droog is actually Nas?
 | Hep Kat you're retarded. Please **** off 4eva.
 | Guzzo10 agreed so hard. I mean, thats really the only knock on Krit is that he has all the talent in the world to be great, he just can't seem to put it into a full LP. If he could ever put out a full length filled with Mt. Olympus-type songs it would at least be up for my aoty. When Kendrick did that Control verse THIS is what I hoped I would hear. Not some s***ty ass diss tracks.
 | Guzzo10 WHY WHY WHY is no one giving any love to Big K.R.I.T.'s "Mt. Olympus?"
 | Guzzo10 NIGGA, both of our first reviews were Flobots "Fight With Tools" and we gave it the same rating, WTF.
 | kingsoby1 https://fakefourdistro.bandcamp.com/album/flagship
 | kingsoby1 check out the new psyche origami record. really tight.
 | kingsoby1 it's pretty tight. i think im at a 4/5 ish. madlib's beats are the same as they've always been, but a bit less experimental on this. solid, but not ground breaking. gibbs' rapping is really good though, probably my favorite gibbs release in terms of lyricism.
 | kingsoby1 i did dib that didn't i. you can write it up if you want. real busy @ work
 | Greyvy and **** yea we are, we are peaking at the right time of the year
 | Greyvy awwww s***! born and raised my man
 | NeroCorleone80 Nope. Ive always had this name. Been around for nearly 4 years as well
 | Guzzo10 Oh s***, I just realized that, my bad brah. I really liked the beats on Habits and Contradictions more than oxy because of how abrasive and druggy they were, leaving the listener feeling like they are actually in a drugged state of mind, which I thought was cool. However, as a cohesive whole, I enjoyed Oxy more. It's just on Oxy, there isn't really any standout tracks, but there also isn't really any truly poor tracks either. There just isn't anything that stepped out and wow'd me. iddkkkk.
 | SgtPepper Oh, thanks for letting me know. I know of the band, but I didn't know they released something this month. I'll definitely check it out. Cheers.
 | Keyblade Congrats on the promotion ma nig
 | Guzzo10 brooooo oxy is pretty ****ing good so far.
 | Yuli hey man nice to see you on staff =] late here but thrilled to have you.
 | AtomicWaste Aziz STAFFtel! Congrats to you as well, my man!
 | osmark86 I see you's staff now. well done dandy!
 | Mongi123 Yup sure did thanks. I see you've already started getting your ratings just right haha
 | unclereich SITE FVCKED UP MAKING U STAFF ;]]]]]]]]
 | Mongi123 Congrats on your promotion dude!
 | Guzzo10 Congrats brother! Definitely got excited when I saw your name in the Staff list today(In all the ways you want to take that [; )
 | Insurrection congrats, not only for being promoted for but having the best profile pic on sputnik
 | TMobotron Congrats on staff dude, very well-earned.
 | Crysis Congrats on staff! Welcome to the fold, see you on Olympus.
 | klap ghosts of the great highway is considered their greatest generally but they all sound relatively the same stylistically
 | Gyromania i like your style! more people should adopt that mentality. cheers for being so understanding.
 | Gyromania just wanted to drop a line to say i didn't mean for my posts to sound so hyper-critical in your warpaint thread. i actually consider you to be one of the best writers on the site
 | Wizard The Future Sound of Music has one of the best builds ever.
 | Wizard STOP BEING LAZY AND GO ****ING LISTEN TO PERDITION CITY RIGHT NOW. Then report back to me and say "Damn Wiz, I should really stop being so lazy" hahahahaha
 | Wizard Holy s*** dude, you really need to hear Perdition City, Shadows of the Sun, Blood Inside, and pretty much the rest of their discography (including their first 3 albums which are black metal and folk).
 | Wizard Hate to break it to you but new Ulver pales in comparison to that split they did with Sunn O))). No boring s*** to speak of hahahaha. I like your taste in metal and music in general.
 | unclereich http://www.sputnikmusic.com/images/members/428952.jpg
 | unclereich lol thanks man and i can't believe he responded, definitely an understatement to say that's a GOAT present
 | unclereich lol but i implemented a lot of your critiques and the fact that you read through and put that much effort into correcting a strangers review is admirable as hell
 | unclereich check this out man! i don't know how to thank you...http://postimg.org/image/l4kbkx0j3/

 | unclereich dude it's too long i know lol thanks so much for this man really appreciated
 | unclereich thanks a TON bruh and nah it's not posted. it's vv rough and i took a very weird approach to the review because fvck it lol, i just sent it, the subject says "FourthReich so sexc"
 | unclereich i know this is asking a lot but could i have you check a review of mine? if not thats coo
 | Skoj I appreciate it my dude, thanks for the encouragement. I'm hoping to sit down and draw out a couple of reviews for review-less records, shake the rust off a little. We'll see.
 | unclereich oh really you're on the west coast too? good sh!t
 | unclereich it's a lot like when death grips first came on the scene dude, he's fvcking with the hip hop scene and riding the line between rap and the unknown. it's really good dude
 | unclereich http://pitchfork.com/advance/325-come-to-life/
 | Lotus who is ken and why is he important!?
 | Frippertronics anything works, and I want it to be as diverse as possible.
 | Rowan5215 Damn, thanks man! I'll def consider it but more work is probably not something I want to undertake because I'm in my final year of school this year, but after that it sounds like a great idea.
 | Rowan5215 Haha I'm really flattered but I think I'd need to improve a lot and also write a lot more regularly than I do.
 | Hyperion1001 yeah that tape is pretty awesome, its actually one of my fav hip hop things from this year honestly
 | Hyperion1001 my brother showed it to me, he found the mixtape on youtube one day and said it was awesome
 | Atari Lol I got married like 4 months ago :P damn I never check Facebook these days when is the deadline?

 | Decay Dude, thanks for the melt- banana rec. This is one of best albums ive ever heard, its so fun! :)

 | unclereich http://dillinger.alexanderspit.com/album/dillinger
 | Kman418 didn't start musicing until a year ago so nah i missed those. whenever i go to shows im the super out of place looking 15 year old by himself so THE MORE YOU KNOW~
 | Kman418 the only one other than that i can think of was loma prieta in like april and bomb the music industry over the summer last year so yeah
 | Kman418 lol yeah i was i s2g im going to find one that we both went to ****
 | Kman418 wait did you go to that wilhelm scream/flatliners show over the summer

 | Kman418 ya sucks that you missed it but two shows in one weekend is p sweet either way. anyways if i end up going to the chariot show on friday ill be the awkward looking 15 year old that looks super out of place lol
 | Kman418 indeed did u go to the streetlight show like a week ago????
 | YourDarkAffected thanks man! I definitely want to write more on here. Tricky thing for me is just finding stuff I feel inspired to write on that doesn't already have a review. That could be a strength of my application though-- that I don't write reviews for things that already have one. It does limit me a bit I suppose though.
 | YourDarkAffected haha think so? I'll keep an eye out for when submissions are and apply. I probably need to write more frequently.
 | aok hey man - i don't feel like i have much on hip hop this year. any particulars you recommend? i was all over tde stuff last year
 | Sowing I asked to be emeritus because life has gotten really busy. Check out my last list, it sort of explains it.
 | ButteryBiscuitBass Agree with ur last comment it is like a musical riddle lol and arguing over whether em is overrated ot not is yawn lol
 | kingsoby1 yeah i'll probably throw something together.
