  • Storm In A Teacup I hope you had an awesome time, how was it?!
    October 23 02:56 PM
  • Storm In A Teacup Matty has no chance this way. Not fair. Should have come with a stronger pair of songs but also a whole real album. Im thinking time has a lot of ways to improve my current unfortunate feelings
    September 6 10:30 PM
  • Storm In A Teacup Which theiren lies the biggest problem with Matty. The ep has some good stuff but overall not epic. Adding songs from Vital to Devotion worked but going from EP to Vega is an entirely different species of an idea in every way including song quality
    September 6 10:27 PM
  • Storm In A Teacup The problem tho is that so many anberlin songs can hold a value you dont see hear feel for some time. Timeless band timeless music. I may call myself a fool in 5 years for not loving the eps. The only tangible issue is the marketing techniques.
    September 6 10:25 PM
  • Storm In A Teacup Which you asking makes me reconsider my hate to vega because really what are we losing from stephen if we are only getting the ep quality and not cities, ntfp, lowborn, vital.
    September 6 10:21 PM
  • Storm In A Teacup I gave both Matty songs ten chances and dont like them but i understand how you do. As well as understand you like them more than the 2 eps. For me i was initially excited about the eps but they really dont compare to OG Berlin
    September 6 10:18 PM
  • Storm In A Teacup The two new anberlin eps this year and last have some bangers if you havent heard =]
    July 27 05:30 AM
  • Storm In A Teacup Nice to see you come back sometimes
    July 19 12:59 PM
  • DaveyBoy Hey Zero. Sorry for the very belated response. And sorry that I cant help you with any recos. I just havent had the time or motivation to listen to much music this year. Im hoping that changes some time soon, but who knows. Hope you are well mate.
    September 9 02:05 AM
  • DaveyBoy That new Story of the Year LP is such fun. Its a 4 for me as well.
    January 2 10:03 AM
  • DaveyBoy You still here Zero? Unsure even I am tbh. But anyway, I hope all is well. Not a great deal taking my fancy thus far in 2016, so if you can send anything catchy and rocky my way, Im all ears.
    August 6 02:53 PM
  • PappyMason So true. If I do, it's normally older stuff like Fugazi, Quicksand and Drive Like Jehu. Or more noise-rock type things. I still listen to Glassjaw though. Worship and Tribute has stayed with me.
    August 9 08:54 PM
  • PappyMason Alright man, you ever heard Lower Definition - The Greatest of All Lost Arts? I remember hearing that back in the day and thinking it was really well done. I don't really listen to that much post-hardcore these days...
    August 7 11:13 PM
  • Gyromania man that's insane. i thought they disbanded a looooong time ago, but apparently they made other albums too. build by blood was great though, just re-listening to it now. who's killing who will apparently always hold up as a very solid track. surprised i enjoy it as much today
    May 11 04:59 PM
  • Gyromania man, i just saw you reviewed bleed the dream built by blood and got a HUGE nostalgia kick. i completely forgot about that band until this moment. i wonder if i'll like them as much now, a decade later
    May 11 04:29 PM
  • DaveyBoy Just got properly through the 2 Young Lions albums. Debut would have been in my top 15 had I heard it in 2013. I've rated it a 4.1. New one is solid and consistent, but more a transitional sounding album. I'm going with a 3.7.
    May 10 02:29 AM
  • DaveyBoy Glad you liked it. Hopefully they do want to show some growth, while continuing to play to their strengths.
    April 25 10:57 PM
  • DaveyBoy Finds out their Aussie. Didn't know. Embarrassed.
    April 4 06:57 AM
  • DaveyBoy Thanks. Genre tags, similar bands and NS's sound-off for their debut suggest it will be right up my alley.
    March 31 11:16 AM
  • DaveyBoy Hey stranger. Huge reco: Too Close To Touch LP Nerve Endings.
    March 26 02:29 AM
  • DaveyBoy Oh boy, is this the second time ever we have disagreed. New Conditions LP is my AOTY so far.
    May 7 12:46 PM
  • DaveyBoy On my MP3 player ready to listen to. Been very very busy of late.
    April 5 12:08 PM
  • DaveyBoy A few recos. None are really post hardcore though. Yellowcard, We Are The Ocean, Sharks, Gallows, Abel and Icarus The Owl. The best post-hardcore LP Ive heard this year may well be Pierce The Veil and Im not sure how much I really like that.
    November 12 10:51 AM
  • DaveyBoy Ok Zero, its almost year end list time. Its time to hit me with some 2012 reco that I have missed during the year.
    November 11 10:59 AM
  • Sciroccu I prefer Redeemer than O God the aftermath (too intense 4 me, lol), thks for the advice...
    September 17 06:08 PM
  • DaveyBoy Ok, hit me with it...
    August 18 11:36 AM
  • DaveyBoy Get excited Zero. New Classic Crime is fantastic.
    August 11 06:36 AM
  • DaveyBoy Yeah, they were fantastic live back in march. Really impressed. Freaky, as I was just watching their new video. Took me back to the live show. Ta for the reco as I already had them listed. Sorry, nothing for you. The list of potential 5s that I just posted has seriously took a month or so to collate. I have hardly done anything else, hence the lack of reviews from me lately.
    May 10 12:41 AM
  • DaveyBoy Just looked up a band touring next year and it seems you like them. Conditions. Really good, r they?
    November 26 09:40 AM
  • DaveyBoy No probs Zero. Pay me back with your continued recos.
    November 8 09:12 AM
  • DaveyBoy You havent tried googling Mediafire and then the band and album name. You don't need torrents for that as you just save it to a folder and then open with WinRar. If its not on Mediafire or a similar site, it wont be on torrent.
    November 7 11:16 PM
  • DaveyBoy Of the pop-punky type, I like Balance and Composure, Swellers, Junior Battles and Fireworks. Thursday and FFAF are the only post hardcore LPs I have liked this year.
    September 29 02:59 AM
  • DaveyBoy Hey Zero, just checking in to see if you have any 2011 recs for me.
    September 27 10:12 AM
  • DaveyBoy I have yet to hear a 2011 album. LOL. My first dibs this year is the new Bayside LP. After that, its new Trust Company. Then RA, FFAF and Emery come in quick succession. They may be my 5 most anticipated albums for the year with a 4 week period.
    January 31 04:15 AM
  • DaveyBoy Zero, did you mean to disable comments on your 2010 list. Good to see u finally got around to it. Might give Norma Jean a listen on the back of it. I liked the singly but thought it may be overall too heavy for me.
    January 27 04:18 AM
  • Eko funny i never thought that one was a standout, but theres just too many. yeah sing and just a man are two of my favorites. i think i went on itunes once and saw that just a man was one of their least popular songs and i wanted to punch my screen
    November 30 11:54 PM
  • Eko niceeee glad there are other people who realize how awesome the silver cord is
    November 29 04:56 AM
  • Coggyswell It took me awhile to realize what it was. My friend had recently replayed Mario RPG and that's where I first saw him then forgot about him. I picked up the game a few months ago, but still haven't finished it.
    October 12 05:52 AM
  • Coggyswell Love the Mallow avatar.
    October 9 04:59 PM
  • DaveyBoy LastFM is pretty good, I would not call it essential though. It is more a tracking device as to what you and others are listening to. It can recommend similar artists though.
    September 10 01:53 AM
  • DaveyBoy Since it is an EP, I may look into FFAF. Just bad timing with the release as I have other potential reviews right now.
    September 10 01:52 AM
  • DaveyBoy Yep, heard it once already and may review it in future. Sort of liked it in a for want of a better word formulaic way. Need to get used to the vocals though.
    September 8 06:24 AM
  • Synesthete i see you are a tooth and nail/solidstate fan. there are some great bands on those labels
    August 26 06:01 AM
  • DaveyBoy Did you listen to Anhedonia or the new album. I definitely prefer their newie. Or did you just do a general MySpace.
    August 25 05:34 AM
  • DaveyBoy Ok, my last comment was written after listening to their debut, which is solid. Now, I have listened to their newie. Wow, just wow.
    August 24 11:41 PM
  • DaveyBoy Wow, I am shocked. They are huge over at AbsolutePunk. I am reviewing their newie next week. Wanted your opinion on their debut since you had not rated it. Now I know why.
    August 24 10:00 AM
  • DaveyBoy Hey Zero, have you not heard the album by The Graduate, or just did not like it.
    August 24 02:59 AM
  • DaveyBoy Screw it, i will take the backlash. It is a 4. You Bring Fire is absolutely ruling my world right now. The main thing wrong with the album is that it is 2 songs too long. Specifically 2 of tracks 7 to 10.
    July 29 10:42 PM
  • DaveyBoy Saw your rating. Tend to agree, but gee it is close to a 4 for me. Unlike you, I think it is better than TCaL.
    July 29 01:05 PM
  • DaveyBoy It seems that everyone thinks lead singles are meh these days.
    July 27 11:32 AM
  • DaveyBoy Have u heard new ivoryline yet. If so, what do you think. Better than debut or not. If not, you will like it. Just a matter of how much.
    July 27 07:14 AM
  • sublimefan1991 yea man or at least check out my top 100 songs list if you don't feel like listening to entire albums (although they're all pretty sick ones).
    July 4 03:01 PM
  • sublimefan1991 hey man, you might be the first person i've seen who's really into both sublime and sum 41 (who are each two of my top 3 bands). also, i'm into metallica, the beatles, and some of the other s*** as you too. i'll def check out a few of your 5-star albums cuz we seem to have VERY similar taste.
    June 28 04:52 PM
  • DaveyBoy Good to hear that you're liking Fightstar Zero. Just took my 1st listen of LostProphets. Pretty good, but need more time with its 2nd half.
    January 17 10:54 PM
  • sXeMOSHCOREhXc lets make a band
    December 28 06:07 AM
  • sspedding I have just checked them out, I didn't know them. I like it, kind of reminds me of a more post hardcore Circa Survive. Thanks for the recommendation my friend.
    December 19 02:13 AM
  • DaveyBoy Interesting that u mention they don't sell it in the States. I've checked a few Aussie stores
    December 17 11:22 PM
  • DaveyBoy Hey Zero, I definitely recommend getting your ears on that Fightstar album. It definitely wasn't the most immediate LP I've heard all year, but it grew on me big time.
    December 17 02:51 AM
  • sspedding yo man, thanks for the compliment on Cry of The Afflicted. Just wish they were still together, really enjoyed all their releases.
    December 12 03:03 AM
  • DaveyBoy Ta for the reco. Emery is my AOTY right now. Main reco from me is The Blackout-The Best In Town (see my review).
    September 12 03:46 AM
  • DaveyBoy Yo Zero, what have you been digging lately? Anything to recommend me?
