  • ShadowNeko Get Lost, Find Yourself was their best album. It actually had soul and the moments of the breakdowns felt very theatrical. The new stuff sounds like a random mess and some parts of the new songs sound so forced in with the same riffs over and over. Listen to "The Other Line" and "Twist the Knife". Their best songs with charming elements imho.
    July 31 07:02 PM
  • ShadowNeko Completely agreed about the new captain chunk album. They stripped away everything that made their music unique in the first place and replaced it with mediocre pop core.
    July 30 10:15 PM
  • ArsMoriendi I'll deff check a track or two.
    July 29 06:42 PM
  • Trifolium Hellloooo! No I haven't and I'll certainly check it, sounds good! On vacay currently so it'll have to wait a little while, I'll let you know what I think!
    July 29 08:44 AM

    July 25 12:54 AM
  • Slex Not at all what I was expecting but it definitely has a certain special something to it, I'm hovering at 4.5 but not 100% sure yet
    July 24 04:08 PM
  • Atari ah, well that explains it, haha ;) 9th
    July 24 02:43 PM
  • WatchItExplode I actually discovered them because Glass Beach namedropped them on Twitter. I probably thought they were a bit too "soft" for you, but now I know better.
    July 23 06:33 PM
  • WatchItExplode Yeah, I dig these guys a lot. Their previous ep was one of my best finds earlier this year. Glad you are enjoying it.
    July 23 05:34 PM

    July 10 03:03 PM
  • WatchItExplode For example the opener gets a little more theatric which I think is where they're best
    July 10 05:06 AM
  • WatchItExplode This band frustrates me because if they through some original twists into the mix it could be really exciting but they settle for that say anything worship. It's just the same sound
    July 10 04:56 AM
  • WatchItExplode I get early Bayside vibes from them. Maybe even a bit of alkaline trio or Vendetta Red
    July 9 06:33 AM

    June 18 11:35 PM
  • Divaman Thanks for the rec. These guys are a little noisy for my taste, though - a lot of feedback, etc. But thanks for thinking of me.
    June 18 09:37 PM
  • WatchItExplode I'm into those disturbed vocals on "She". Album is, uh...pretty sick
    June 18 03:06 PM

    June 12 12:37 AM
  • WatchItExplode We are the page is jacked up... Made it pretty hard to track down the album but I'm glad I did.
    June 11 11:53 PM
  • Minushuman24 Yeah, I'm super pumped haha. And yeaaa I'm guessing the arctic circle doesn't have much for ya up there haha. Seems like it would be hard to find something cool, bar/venue-wise
    June 9 10:22 PM
  • Minushuman24 Will do! and I'm pumped to read it, I probably got more I can send, but gotta look. That is nuts, I have the opposite problem lol. Went to Chicago for a week which was full of fun punk bars. Other than that trying to get day to day. I am a radio DJ now tho!

    April 2 07:35 PM
  • Atari kind of excited about the new Dropkick Murphy's album. Smash s*** Up is one of the best songs I've heard from them in quite some time imo
    April 1 07:26 PM
  • Atari and Joystick! seems awesome as well. I was instantly sold when they started talking about singing Everclear lol. growing up in the 90s that line just hits the spot
    March 31 02:09 PM
  • Atari man I was telling Sowing I don't get the Spanish Love Songs/Hotelier comparisons at all but that Rise Against meets Restorations observation is a damn solid one. It does keep getting better, starting to get different lyrics and guitar parts stuck in my head!
    March 31 02:07 PM
  • WatchItExplode Belvedere rules, kali masi is great, 68 gots that true punk attitude, and joystick! Is promising some exciting hardcore ska. Just got back from family vacation, recs appreciated as always

    March 26 05:11 PM
  • dmathias52 With covid keeping me trapped inside, punk and like anything upbeat has totally fallen by the wayside, but I'm ready to change that - Wanna keep me up to date with any "need to listens" after you get through the releases from this week?

    March 18 10:46 PM
  • ArsMoriendi Weird, but I wanna hear that haha!
    March 18 04:06 PM
  • WatchItExplode Yeah I agree. Everything was pretty good some tracks just felt like they were missing an element or 2.
    March 15 06:43 PM
  • WatchItExplode Calyx was good. They sounded like they were trying to catch up to the drummer the entire album which was pretty entertaining. Alt has been treating me well especially arab strap.
    March 14 11:28 PM
  • WatchItExplode Slothrust is still pretty heavy in my rotation. Thanks for the heads up about the new track.
    March 13 04:25 PM
  • Minushuman24 It ****s, just as I expected it to do
    March 3 01:26 AM

    February 10 03:57 PM
  • Atari I haven't but will check both today since I have to work some overtime! I'll probably like the Muncie Girl singer's effort more than you. have a def soft spot for them
    February 7 04:02 PM
  • WatchItExplode I 100% hear the Weezer in Zuzu's Petals for the record.
    February 6 07:43 PM
  • AdoreSwancore Hey I noticed you listened to the ghostfuneral albums, so I thought you might want to know that both albums were actually stolen. The S/T is actually Animals (In Predicaments) by Lawnchairs, and The Nomad is actually Techxture by The Planet You
    February 6 04:44 PM
  • Sowing I'm more interested in the artist than I am that particular album. Bear sounds sort of like YFW era Brand New which is good, but the amateurish vocals don't work as well with the more serious content/sound IMO. It's a solid 3/5 regardless, but I skimmed a few of his other albums and they sound better. I'm glad you got me into him; Halloween IV and The Void sound incredible upon initial inspection. Even Zerwee part II sounds like a lot of fun.
    February 6 03:47 AM
  • Atari Oh weird part of my comment got cut off lol. But yeah you nailed it! S.F. Sourdough kicks ass

    February 5 09:16 AM
  • WatchItExplode Not released this year. Will check the list though.
    February 5 12:26 AM
  • WatchItExplode ghostfuneral is some wild raw stuff...I get the Glassbeach comparison (and it got me to check) but it so much more disjointed and experimental. Good stuff, still exploring it.
    February 4 04:15 PM
  • Sowing listening now and it's excellent...thanks
    February 2 02:17 AM
  • Atari I almost forgot about her Proper. contribution but new album is pretty fantastic imo. cheers

    January 9 01:21 AM
  • Minushuman24 No idea, I added them to sput like 8 years ago. I was obsessed with Geeks back in high school and I came across them again when I was going through my old itunes.and this list is rad, I never got around to finishing mine unfortunately, but I'll be jamming this one
    January 2 10:54 PM
  • WatchItExplode Np, thanks for being awesome and sorting through all the tunes us mere mortals can't get through. Check the track Planetarium by Slothrust. It's got ur name all over it...literally

  • someone thanks a plenty
    December 14 02:19 PM
  • SymbolicInTime Oh man, I'm gonna have to listen through the rest of those. Going through PEAR right now and it's pretty solid. Are you a fan of The Suicide Machines at all? Their 2020 album easily holds its own against their debut imo.
    December 12 02:59 PM
  • SymbolicInTime Making Plans ended up being my favorite on there but the whole disc is remarkably solid. The overall vibe is very pleasing to the ears. Glad they kept the runtime short, may have grown a bit stale at 45 min or so.
    December 11 06:38 PM
  • SymbolicInTime Have not. Just checked the single off it and really dug it though. I'll have to give the rest a spin quick, thanks!
    December 11 06:04 PM
