 | Willie Ha ha. That Lorna Shore review is going to haunt everything I do from now on. I hear you, though. I just like the more song-oriented direction they had on Alpha/Omega. The extended songs just don't hold my attention. It's not like they can't do long songs (I like Dracul Gras from this one and Reptile from the previous release), but I think there were just too many on V.

| Willie I don't think they should be cut because of variation issues or because they?re bad. I think they should be cut because they make the album too long, and it kind of drags down the momentum. The same way I thought "Cursed to Die" and "Wrath" could have been removed from the Lorna album in the interest of pacing (not because they're bad). Thanks Nobuo is too long and Wax Wings isn't, IMO.

 | rellik009 idk man metal as a whole is a riff salad genre, and I wouldn't call Frontier copypasta, there are discernible differences from one song/album to the next, but agreed that they're not the greatest band ever even with a discerning/open ear, to me their appeal is mostly that they make interestingly mechanical and chaotic music.

| rellik009 bro when I gave Frontierer a 2.5 it hurt my soul because I love them but like you gotta admit their music in Orange isn't developed enough for a 3.0. Oxidized is way better honestly, I'll give Oxidized a 3.5 and maybe bump Orange to 3.0.

 | Inoculaeted I do enjoy the second half noticeably more than the first and I think it's because the more interesting mathy bits are stacked towards the back. Prescience is my fav at the moment. It is by no stretch of the imagination a bad album, but I have a feeling future me will just rejam TWD when I want my Rolo. Haven't given Grievances more than a single spin though. Due for a revisit.

 | Kusangii For real, sometimes it felt like I was listening to a movie score more than a metal album. I swear I heard more keyboards than guitars in this album. Yeah, Consciousness Pt 3 in particular was a mockery to the original. It's like they tried so damn hard to make a huge soundscape that they forgot to write riffs. And the guest sessions felt completely pointless, I didn't even notice Angel Vivaldi lol
