 | DDDeftoneDDD "Im having a hell of a time getting into Black Saint" - On track B - the part where the chaos turns into music...and the sax starts almost shouting or talking at you and then is slowly turning into the most melodic sax tune...with the same exact note! Its a priceless moment in music...and imagining it was 63...is just omfg.
 | Shadowmire i have no idea how to give tips on that. how do you enjoy other music?
 | Slex Flattery will get u everywhere, I'm down
 | SowingSeason It may have to do with the font or program you're using. In regular Microsoft Word I've never had an issue, perhaps try that or a plain txt file.
 | SowingSeason it's just outdated. nothing the mods can change unfortunately :-/
 | MiloRuggles It was one of the first sput classics I ever got into. Still nothing else that scratches that itch.Props your way for the Ash Borer s/t 5. I'm not huge into the lo-fi side of bm, but that album gets my bits tingling big time
 | Shadowmire I thought something like that might slowly happen to me as well but I keep gravitating towards crazier music. Hope you like the EP in any case
 | Shadowmire it's effectively a short Deathspell Omega release with Colin Marston production, so it depends on whether that's your music daydream like it is mine
 | Dewinged Dude, it's good, only heard it once, production sucks (as always) and I think it has less blast beats, etc but vocals are amazing and they did some really intersting stuff here and there, and all in all is a good jam! get on it! wanna hear your opinion too!
 | SteakByrnes I get a discount since I work there, but it still costs quite the pretty penny lol so I might just get some speakers at the very least and see where I go from there
 | SteakByrnes Haha yea man, it was right place right time! I had just gotten out of school and was applying to literally everywhere around me, and they had just moved on from two software guys so it was perfect. I work with a lot of the preamps, integrated amps, etc., it's such a good place to work :] I was testing a new unit yesterday in a conference room with a bunch of things connected to it, like through balanced, unbalanced, coax, hdmi, all that jazz haha.
 | Prancer I really enjoyed that Nick Mulvey album and I definitely plan on returning to it soon. I can see it growing for sure.
 | SowingSeason [continued #2] - and Ethan Gruska's latest was also a personal fave of mine even though the reception here was lukewarm. If you ever want recs from prior to 2020 I have them - I see you never rated Damien Rice or Glen Hansard, among plenty of other folk stalwarts I'd recommend highly.
 | SowingSeason [continued] - Not sure how much you're into The Microphones, but their 2020 release (a single 40 minute song) was also pretty good. Zach Bryan has much more of a country-folk vibe, but if you can dig that style then I highly recommend Elisabeth. Same goes for Waxahatchee - Saint Cloud, which is sort of a grower but basically has female Dylan vibes. Loving - If I Am Only My Thoughts feels like it fits the "2020 lo-fi folk" description as well only with a splash of psychedelia
 | SowingSeason Still have to check that out. In terms of limiting to 2020 releases only, and in terms of understated folk, I've been digging the new Bendrix Littleton hard. It's been a bit undervalued on this site but it's got an amazing lo-fi atmosphere and only just came out 2 weeks ago. I also really enjoyed Westelaken - The Golden Days are Hard. Very lowkey, underground Canadian project that blends a ton of influences.
 | SowingSeason I have a ton of recs if you're interested, any specific genres you're favoring right now?
 | SowingSeason Could definitely go even higher than a 4 if the mood or lyrics strike me! I'll keep you in mind...I always have folk albums queued up so I'll see what I can compile that you haven't already rated.
 | SowingSeason I listened and it really is great. Reminds me of Ben Howard circa Noonday Dream but a little more sprightly and energetic in spots. April and The Trellis were early highlights for me, but I only listened once. First impressions are that it'd get a 4 from me, but could be better as the lyrics sink in. Appreciate the rec very much!
 | SowingSeason Ah, not yet but thank you for the reminder! I'll make a point of squeezing it in this week. :-)
 | Nocte Largely I?d start making an impact now with reviews on current releases, tweaking/improving your writing, being active in other review threads and adding insightful discussions where you can. Show that you can meet the criteria for the position (generally one review per month) offer to help in end of year features and basically get involved.
 | Nocte Mostly the actual application process is easy enough: just wait for the news item around February which will tale you the forums or a google form of some sort. But it?s the work you put in before hand that has a larger impact.
 | Nocte On keeping you?re writing sharp or how to get to contrib? I?m happy to put my two cents in wherever. I?ll be honest though; there?s guys that know a lot more than me
 | DDDeftoneDDD Nice pic! Lol. snw is a weird one. I wouldn t sell it but I came to enjoy as a fan.
 | DDDeftoneDDD LMAO - all albums, and all band really, are huge growers! Now that's exactly how you rate Full of Hell.
 | SowingSeason I'll be sure to check it out! Thank you for the rec!

 | necropig I'm on 2 week holiday but I have the cold, oof. What about you?
 | DDDeftoneDDD ahaha **** it, I only know Apex Predator. Go for it.
 | DDDeftoneDDD hey dude. have you checked that Napalm Death? m/
 | Sevengill dude it's so good. really happy somebody wrote it up.
 | DDDeftoneDDD I don't often do/check live show...but that peaked my interest. tks!
 | SowingSeason You're way too kind. If you've enjoyed the music I've rec'd/reviewed, I'm sure it's a two way street so feel free to let me know if there's anything you think I'd enjoy!
 | Wizard I have been well. Crazy times my friend. Hope you, your family and friends are doing well through these unusual circumstances!
 | Trifolium Goooooood, thanks! It looks like I have some homework to do! Everything 90s works for me too by the way, why didn't I say that before omg!
 | Trifolium Yeeeessssssssss Opeth are amazing. I remember the moment when I fell in love with them. They're still special to me. And concerning the bleeps and bloops: I'm all for it! Styles I love most include techno, minimal techno, some tech house, and dub stuff (i.e. Pole). Not too big a fan of Dubstep, more of Drum and Bass, but then the more old school stuff (for instance Black Sun Empire).
 | DDDeftoneDDD I could kill for that rate on WP ahaha on other matter, that Motorpsycho is wooooooo!
 | bloc Yay, glad to hear that. I am not even sure what made me check it in the first place, but I am always looking for old school sounding house music

 | DDDeftoneDDD The other one is almost equally good imo. I landed like an alien in your Mystic State's rev but it turned out a very pleasant, detailed listen. TKS a lot.

 | CaptainDooRight ah how did you get to hear the new DSO? Is there a link? I wanna hear

 | Brostep Ooh will listen when I get a chance!
 | Brostep Oof will listen. Love monuman
 | Brostep aufect's one of like three good local electronic labels, "local" being relative because it's based in Vancouver (4ish hours north of me driving). a bunch of their artists come through to Seattle pretty often, we've got CRIMES!, Doctor Jeep, and OAKK over the past few months. no UK but we make do
 | Brostep oh lord you weren't kidding
 | Brostep adding the comp to my spotify!
 | Brostep High praise coming from you, appreciate it :)
 | 50iL Yo, that Silent Witness record was awesome! A bit overlong, but all quality.
 | 50iL Thanks dude! Will jam soon, promise haha
 | 50iL Hey man, just came around to say that I really appreciate all your recs, although I may not look the part haha. Haven't heard the Gnawa album yet, but I haven't forgotten, not even one day. Hope all is well.
 | AnimalsAsSummit I have some new music out you might enjoy... its experimental electronic but touches some drum and bass influence as well as inspiration from techno and ambient pop/dub: https://kinggreenied.bandcamp.com/album/opio
 | AnimalsAsSummit agreed! unbelievable album dude. perfect modern dnb release. definitely gets better with each listen.
 | AnimalsAsSummit hell yes! what a monolithic album. been cycling it all week
 | Dewinged Pretty good huh, only jammed it once but left me a good taste. Someone should write it up!
 | Xenophanes Aww thanks bud. Yeah sometimes I?m so-so with Circa but BSN is a Stone cold classic. I?m also looking forward to check out that new Cormorant side project that just dropped an album
 | Xenophanes Nice ratings for Blue sky noise, Dwellings, and Summit. I was obviously stalking your 5s ; )
 | Nocturtle ur black tongue rating is wrong homie
 | DarkNoctus un - sentiment, leech - for better or for worse, harakiri for the sky - arson. [:
 | Relinquished check out his last couple singles, Butterflies and Midnight... and the Laszlo Dancehall LZD IV.
 | necropig Is this a known site? This is the first I've been to it. No problems

 | Papa Universe well of course i ****ing damn loved it, you bet your mosaic lsd-ridden lizard av on it
 | Papa Universe So is that Manes album just pure craziness or is there something more methodical to it.

 | Zeneren Man Malibu is so sick actually. Reminds me though, you a fan of Photek? Been listening to this a lot recently https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NsaQ8rJG_rs love this s***
 | Zeneren Ooooh very cool. Think I like Malibu and The Glow most. Not a huge DnB'r generally but dig hard those murky bass sounds
 | 50iL Sure, I'll peep his discog
 | 50iL Yoooo that Monty rec was ****ing awesome, thanks man
 | 50iL Sweet, I'll check it out!
 | 50iL Thanks for that rec! It was enjoyable, but I felt it was missing something compositionally... idk
 | 50iL Haha, thanks! That weird bass tone is actually the basis for my own bass tone (I play bass); I really like that dense wonky sound and I think it's the future of bass itself.
 | 50iL Awesome, thanks!
 | 50iL Hey, thanks again for that Drumspyder rec! Good stuff.
 | Darius The Imposter haha I've not been too bad, doing some co op for my studies, being overwhelmed by music, the usual
 | 50iL Thanks man! I'll check it out for sure
 | Zeneren love the future vibes my man thanx. Here's one for you: https://boomkat.com/products/unfold-f3204042-7ee1-4c44-a15c-acf02adefbf1

 | 50iL Hey, I forgot to tell ya AtYya was great! Thanks for the rec
 | 50iL It's super fun! Hope you dig it my guy
 | 50iL Btw, check Prohibited Beats by Nerve. DnB played live with heavily edited acoustic instruments.
 | 50iL Thanks dude, appreciated!
 | Darius The Imposter Recently I decided to be more transparent w my ratings rather than let consensus influence them whether good or bad, gnarly eh
 | necropig Give this a go https://youtu.be/Wzzxs4AcO3w
 | Relinquished tis a shame my dude but then again the audience isn't here. hopefully that'll change soon, gonna do a electronic list series for now.
 | necropig Np, I just found them myself and seen your comment. Why has your profile shat itself?
 | necropig http://www.mediafire.com/file/44rn1rlpinz9zb9/d-vw.zip here's that dolorian album you were looking in december
 | Zeneren Ah man can't get over the production value, just the right amount of rave throwback and modern bass excursions. love.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDzZGHQzL4I yooo, think you'd dig this, similar vibe to the opener of the fixate ep
 | Zeneren Hey man, ffs Id your comment when I was trying to look at it on my phone. Damn website! Glad you like ALSO as well! Appleblim and Second Storey were made to produce together
 | Zeneren https://youtu.be/-Tms9YxFN4c listening to this album now. Very sick
 | necropig Ah no prob. I've phases like that but I just don't listen to anything, play games or youtube etc instead for me.
 | necropig Give the newest Malokarpatan a go, very Nokturnal-ish
 | DoctorVelvet Hey, thanks a lot for the compliment on the Shankar soundoff. I actually forgot that I wrote that, but reading it again I still stand by every word I wrote. In fact, as a result I'm now so eager to return to his work, and so I will, and I thank you for that.
 | Lord(e)Po)))ts mmmmhmmm. also check lenzman's 2017 album if u havent, i just added it to db
 | Sniff This just in: https://karmacipher.bandcamp.com/album/ep
 | 50iL Yum, thanks dude!
 | Lord(e)Po)))ts will do and like-wise, i value your recs. i often take a while to get around to stuff because my queue is always so back logged but i always bookmark what people like you rec me and get around to it sooner or later!
 | Lord(e)Po)))ts ive always been critical with drum and bass but i like every single song ive heard from them and every release of theirs has at least one or two just straight up legendary modern drum and bass tracks.
 | Lord(e)Po)))ts oh man thank you so much for checking them out. seriously the best drum
 | Scoob Haha more like I'm adjusting to a new medication that makes me comatose
 | Scoob I am that's why I was suspended by sput
 | Zeneren Really glad you like it man, quite off-kilter but it comes off really well! Definitely check out the DB1 release you were considering. Got some really cool deep sounds, quite sensual even.
 | BlackwaterPork Dalmore 35 year old single malt whiskey is the best s*** I?ve had, shame I can?t afford more than a shot lol
 | BlackwaterPork Haha yeah mate I get you, but last time I had baileys I felt unbelievably close to throwing up. It?s something about the consistency that doesn?t sit well with me
 | BlackwaterPork Cheers mate, Christmas was good and I?m looking forward to staying awake to the point where I want to die! How was your Christmas?
 | Lord(e)Po)))ts thanks for bringing that up, i didnt know he had a new one!
 | ramon. yea, just bumped to 4.5. need to re-jig my ratings, top two ulcerate for me. imperious weak is easily my most jammed ulcerate song.
 | ramon. glad to see someone who's 5'd vermis, album doesn't get enough love
 | Sevengill for sure, man. hope it's a great one for you. find something wintry and delicious to jam.
 | Desdinova Hey men! Happy Christmas from viktor
 | Sevengill glad I could hook you up! I'm hoping to catch Rapahel on either that or Leprous' upcoming tour.
 | Sevengill all good. at least leave a comment or something. I spent forever on that review and like two people even read it x_______x
 | Scoob The s*** abyss. s***abuss
 | Scoob You set up this elaborate charade to cover eating seven cheeseburgers?? You are seven cheeseburgers randy?? You promised this would never happen again!

 | Scoob Sure thing bobandinator. Starts with a little drinky-poo!
 | Dedes That's good dude. Me and my gf are splitting our money to get a Nintendo switch, so ****ing stoked.
 | Dedes How's life been dude
 | Hawks Sweet will do tonight bro.
 | Wizard Never heard them before but I was not impressed with band members from Diocletian (really really boring dm) and Ulcerate (who?ve essentially made one great album three times. Will check it out though!
 | Deez Sweet, Will check it man. Did I ever rec you this? I dunno if youd get on with the vox (I love them) But i think you would the beats https://fromthekitesofsanquentin.bandcamp.com/ more glitch that DS
 | Demon of the Fall Thanks yeah it?s hard to define I guess. Maybe I have the wrong idea but to me I?d count anything experimental that expands on the traditional view of DM, so not necessarily just full-on prog. Gorguts? Obscura, Athiest or Ulcerate are good examples.
 | necropig I've seen that sponsored on my fb alot by debe the label, will check
 | 50iL Ooooo thanks my guy, been feeling electronic lately so I?ll spin both of em soon
 | Demon of the Fall Sorry, it was meant to relate to that reply to you earlier... in the Inanimate Existence thread.
