  • tyman128 Yo dude, random question. Are you in the KL discord??
    January 14 07:53 PM
  • tyman128 Sick man! Hope you enjoy it
    January 12 10:36 PM
  • tyman128 Finally got the thumbnail from my friend, so finally got to upload the cover! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TSZBWtBYO8
    January 12 05:40 AM
  • tyman128 Same here man, his dedication to the project was insane! Hope you enjoy it bro! Also, working on my second cover for my channel... and it's the new Love and Death track haha, just gonna end up exclusively covering L
    January 11 06:52 PM
  • tyman128 haha thanks, also one of my favorite hoodies! and yeah dude, he did everything by himself which is insane! his last album, Perpetual Felicity, was written as a project for school and it was pretty solid... but then he blew the entire album out of the water with this one, everything on this album is stellar and I can give you some sick insight on some of the tracks when you listen
    January 10 09:55 PM
  • tyman128 for sure! also, gotta shout out my buddy here, definitely some music you?d love https://youtu.be/A8pJwMaCAMghe just dropped his new album today, and that track above was the lead single! craziest thing about it is that this is for his senior project for theology... so expect plenty of silent planet-esque lyricism haha
    January 10 07:25 AM
  • tyman128 Honestly never really gave them the time of day... Need to get on them at some point in the near future haha
    January 10 05:22 AM
  • tyman128 Yeah, he literally just joined a few days ago, they announced it on Facebook out of the blue... find it interesting how they now have 3 guitarists, could be a unique dynamic if they utilize it
    January 9 12:43 AM
  • tyman128 I?m very intrigued with how Nik Nocturnal is gonna fit in as an additional guitarist, should be very interesting
    January 8 07:12 PM
  • tyman128 Also, speaking of Love and Death, I did a cover for their new single from back in November. Finally decided to start uploading to Youtube, so this is my first cover up there! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIbY5S71yoE
    January 8 04:32 AM
  • tyman128 Yeah me neither quite honestly haha. I have my eyes set on Love and Death (which if you haven't heard their first album, I highly suggest it), Architects, Chevelle (hyped for the new track tomorrow), hopefully some new Meshuggah, and excited to see what I the Breather does this year
    January 8 04:17 AM
  • tyman128 I hope so too man, I miss writing. But school just took up a majority of my time and I haven't quite found an album yet that pushes me back into writing again... that new Love and Death album early next month will probably be my first review back honestly, unless something comes out within the next few weeks that really catches my attention
    January 8 03:32 AM
  • tyman128 haha thanks man, I'll let you know how it all goes! Also yeah, those end of the year lists always get you lazy at the very end of it
    January 8 01:03 AM
  • IntriguingSergei https://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/82631/Deerhoof-Dirt-Pirate-Creed/
    January 6 01:45 PM
  • tyman128 Yeah I hope so too, we'll see if I can finally start dating this girl in a few months or so maybe... that would be nice. Anyway, that's great to hear bro! Glad you got to enjoy the holidays and chill a bit. And just checked your list, definitely dig the choices there!
    January 5 09:38 PM
  • tyman128 Pretty good brother, really enjoyed the time with my family and being with them. Heading back to school on the 15th so I'm really looking forward to getting back into volleyball and seeing my friends again and hopefully finally igniting some sort of relationship haha. How were the holidays for you??
    January 5 08:44 PM
  • Feather I see you digging Bilmuri, worth looking into? Any album I should specifically try out?
    January 5 06:39 PM
  • tyman128 Yo dude, give They Will Fall a quick check, think you?d dig em!Here?s their single from their record: https://youtu.be/p0eWiUDRvS8
    January 5 07:39 AM
  • iamSeraph props for the taylor swift soundoff haha. gave me a good chuckle. cheers mate.
    December 30 09:22 PM
  • SaveBandit Haha ditto brother! :] Well offer stands man, if you're ever out west hmu on here or Instagram or something.
    December 15 09:11 PM
  • SaveBandit That's tight. I've heard Denver is really cool, but I haven't made my way over there yet. s***, do it man! If you ever come out this way then hit me up and we could grab a drink or something.
    December 15 09:01 PM
  • SaveBandit That's rad! Why is he moving out here? Work? I've lived in the city and outside of the city and I liked both honestly. I prefer living outside of the city more, just because I like the privacy and nature while still being able to do a quick drive into the city to mess around.
    December 15 08:18 PM
  • tyman128 Haha thanks man! And I never noticed that until now, but I can definitely see the similarity lol. We just did another demo yesterday and I took a LOT of Silent Planet influence for the vocals so it was a lot of fun
    December 15 07:22 PM
  • SaveBandit That's rad. I'm jealous. Man, I wish we got snow lol. I'm just outside of Portland and we get snow that sticks like once every 2-3 years if we are lucky. Usually we get like a "snow day" that's basically small flurries for a couple hours that don't stick. Yet somehow the whole city still goes crazy and roads close and stuff. It's hilarious.
    December 15 05:48 PM
  • SaveBandit Nice man. After this nightmare of a year it just feels fitting to end it by relaxing for a little bit lol. Side note, you guys already getting snow out there?
    December 15 04:15 PM
  • SaveBandit Nope, nothing too crazy. Probably stop by my parents house and my fiancée's parents houses just to drop off/pick up gifts but other than that it should be really mellow. Which actually sounds great because the holidays are always stressful for us with so many people to see. How bout you guys?
    December 15 04:04 PM
  • SaveBandit lol yeah exactly. Like little garage band stuff with buddies but it never went anywhere. It was more just goofing off for fun rather than a serious attempt at making a band. Hmmm yeah that's a good idea. I just feel like having a more creative job would be more interesting and less stressful. It's hilarious though, any time I start seriously looking elsewhere for work something changes where I'm at and I'm happy for another few months lol. It's uncanny, really.
    December 14 10:57 PM
  • tyman128 yessirrr, he did all the instrumentation and most of the lyrics and I did the vocals
    December 14 10:31 PM
  • tyman128 Awesome, I'm looking forward to recording the final product of it later this month so hopefully that all goes well
    December 14 08:44 PM
  • SaveBandit Aww shucks lol :] Nah I don't play anything, used to sing/scream a little as a hobby with my buddies but nothing serious. Yeah really anything video game related would be like a childhood dream but I know it's a super convoluted field since everyone our age wants to do that lmao.
    December 14 07:59 PM
  • tyman128 Just sent it to your email, think you'll enjoy it :)
    December 14 07:43 PM
  • tyman128 Been doing great man! Finally finished the semester last week, so I've been enjoying time with family and it's been great haha. Started doing vocals for my friend's project, and we got one of our vocal demos finished last week (if you hit me with your email, I can send you a clip) and we're working on another track today so I'm hyped
    December 14 07:32 PM
  • SaveBandit No idea. Something related to music, video games, or basketball would be fantastic. But I have no clue what position I would want in those fields or if I'd even be qualified since I have no degree. Yes, Eggy Pocket rules lol. It's awesome. I think the only material that I don't like is the Bilmuri and Friends cover stuff. Other than that everything is really solid, even if some of the early releases are a little samey at times.
    December 14 07:26 PM
  • tyman128 yo man, how you been??
    December 14 07:20 PM
  • SaveBandit Yeah it's alright. I've been with the company for almost 7 years and I dunno... just kinda ready to try something else but I have no idea what I want to try ya know? Hahah yeah, as you can see I was doing the same thing. Still got a few left to rate. I really dig the sound he's got and I like that he's doing multiple shorter length releases. It's nice to have new material consistently.
    December 14 07:05 PM
  • SaveBandit That sounds like an awesome gig. How long you been doing that? Yeah for sure, definitely looking forward to having some time off to unwind and not stress about dumb s***. I'm in sales actually. I sell pumps, motors, and control panels that are used for residential and commercial buildings to boost water pressure. Super exciting stuff... lol
    December 14 06:24 PM
  • SaveBandit Nice dude. I'd be curious to see what your list looks like for 2020 lol. What do you do for work anyway? If you don't mind me asking. I'm doing good, same old s***. Work is getting to be suuuper slow, but that's kinda common for this time of year. So I'm just trying to keep myself busy with other s*** until I get some time off for the holidays honestly lol.
    December 14 05:58 PM
  • SaveBandit What's up Steaky boi?
    December 12 02:35 AM
  • Dedes Helll yeah bro. Imo they remind me of a more intense/technical Gallows. Specifically old Gallows. Prolly the best hardcore band I've discovered this year idk maybe I'm being hyperbolic but defffinitely jam This is Where the Fight Begins
    December 5 10:49 PM
  • ZippaThaRippa Boi
    December 5 06:39 PM
  • Dedes You ever hear The Ghost of a Thousand
    December 5 02:33 AM
  • Dedes Ay yo Palm Reader is slapping my TAINT rn hot damn
    December 3 05:32 AM
  • tyman128 Ah sick, I had about 49k logged, but that's only because I got spotify around mid July or so, so it only got a few months of my listening. Hopefully next year will be a more accurate representation haha
    December 2 07:46 PM
  • tyman128 Man I love those choruses! His vocals remind me a lot of Greg Puciato at times and I freakin love to hear it haha. So I finally got my 2020 Wrapped stuff... and man is my music taste all over the place haha. My top genre of the year was metalcore and my most listened to artist was Taylor Swift... that pretty much sums up my odd music taste
    December 2 07:38 PM
  • tyman128 I gotta give the new Coletta album a few more spins before I figure out where to place it... but that Palm Reader record is definitely a top 10 kinda record, thing was massive from front to back!
    December 2 07:32 PM
  • tyman128 Holy crap, this Coletta album is a beast of a record!
    December 1 11:47 PM
  • Slex I wanted to rate it lower tbh, did not enjoy myself with that one
    November 30 04:57 PM
  • tyman128 Man, so I didn't get to finish Daybreaker last night, but holy crap that might be the best I've ever heard from them easily! Absolutely loved the track "Even If You Win." I'm gonna try to check out the rest of the album over this week... currently sitting at the airport now waiting for my flight to head back home for the holidays. I'm gonna miss being with friends on campus, but I am so excited to see my family again and be with them for the break!
    November 25 08:24 PM
  • tyman128 Man, I HIGHLY suggest it! Idk what all you enjoy from post-rock influenced stuff, but the record is insanely good imo! Definitely have consistently come back to that record (especially that first track). Also, just finished THAN, and it's MUCH better than people claim it is!! I loved it haha. Now onto Daybreaker, I'll let you know what I think in about an hour here
    November 25 02:00 AM
  • tyman128 That's awesome to hear! As you know, I'm a sucker for that kinda style of music, so I'm all over it haha. Did you check out the new Everything In Slow Motion that came out a few months ago?
    November 25 01:23 AM
  • tyman128 For sure! I also love seeing that Weathered rating you have, they're such a solid band! Been following them since their debut and I absolutely love the sound on this new record
    November 24 09:32 PM
  • tyman128 Oh yeah, I forgot I had checked Hollow Crown years ago and I had already rated it on this site before. I freakin love that record, full of absolute bangers! I actually just learned the main riff of Dead March, such a fun thing to play!
    November 24 07:48 PM
  • tyman128 Imma be checking out THAN and Daybreaker today, so I'm hyped to hear them! I'm also probably gonna set some time aside and check out some Palm Reader, so I'll let you know how that is
    November 24 07:08 PM
  • tyman128 That's fair, I'm honestly a huge fan of it (specifically because I've listened to the leak of Black Lungs which is a far better track imo even tho I loved Animal). I'm currently binging through Architects discog because I realized I never really listened to anything pre-Lost Forever... threw me off guard realizing that they were mathcore early on since I've only known them for their progressive style.
    November 24 12:24 AM
  • tyman128 Never checked out Palm Reader, they've been on my list. I'll be sure to check that out! And new Plini is gonna go harddddd, I'm so hyped for it! So a bit off topic, but what are your thoughts on the direction Architects is taking?

    November 22 05:16 PM
  • GhostB1rd Nigga is you dead?
    November 21 03:55 AM
  • tyman128 Honestly haven't been jamming much lately, haven't really had the time or energy to really delve into recent releases and really focus on them tbh. But lemme tell ya, once I get back home and finish exams... I'm gonna be going through a ton of releases and getting back on the guitar cover grind soon. How about you?
    November 20 06:03 PM
  • nash1311 Get your bum ass in the Erra single thread bish
    November 20 04:17 PM
  • tyman128 Doing alright man, just finishing up the last few weeks of my first semester! College has been great and I've been really enjoying it. Killing myself with all of the volleyball I've been doing lately, but it's been fun improving my skill... and yeah, I guess classes have been fine too haha. Good to hear that you've been settling in nicely!
    November 19 09:44 PM
  • tyman128 Hey man! How've you been brother?
    November 19 06:39 PM
  • Ninjahague dad im scared
    November 18 03:47 PM
  • Dedes Thanks for the posi vibes my man, u rule hard yo
    November 17 11:45 PM
  • Dedes Tbh these days I'm battling to keep my head above muddied waters but I cant complain, I put myself in a rather precarious scenario lol. I moved in with a girl i dated for...2 months? My feelings accelerated perhaps a bit too much and while the relationship was not sustained we're p good friends and still manage to live together fine. Overall, life is strange rn. Probably stranger than ever. Also Helcaraxe ****ing whips
    November 17 04:42 AM
  • Dedes What up yo
    November 14 11:48 PM
  • Minushuman24 Thank you so much for reaching out. I?m struggling a lot but you all have been heartstoppingly stunning to me. It means everything

  • JesperL hey plz check the you will always record (alex and whoever else from counterparts' side project), i'm so confused yet so intrigued by that thing haha
    November 6 09:50 PM
  • Deez Yoooo, Some positivity on Sput what the hell is happening this year I swear??. Thanks for the reach out mate! appreciated.
    November 3 02:34 AM
  • Aberf cheers for Yerin Bake
    October 27 07:46 PM
  • tyman128 Haven't joined any school clubs just yet. I joined a spiritual life group through my church with some other freshman and I'm looking forward to that! I'm also gonna be trying out for the volleyball team next month which should be a lot of fun.
    October 25 08:20 PM
  • SaveBandit Hell yeah dude haha. Some of it is still in rotation, but the stuff that isn't in rotation is fun to revisit every once in a while. Yeah thanks man, I actually had it at a 4 and wanted to bump it but hit that stupid X to remove the rating lmao.
    October 23 05:24 PM
  • SaveBandit Forgot to get back to you brother! That rec was pretty rad. Definitely going to spin it more in my free time. Haven't listened to it enough to rate it yet though haha. Been listening to a lot of Touche Amore and doing deep dives through nostalgic metalcore stuff lately lol
    October 23 05:11 PM
  • tyman128 Amen brother, I really really wanted the Braves to get through haha! Either way, I'm just excited to see how this World Series plays out tbh. In other big college news, I decided to drop out of my Honors College Program. It was just such a tedious addition to my workload and really doesn't have any benefit for me in the long run as an English major, so... just decided to drop it haha
    October 20 11:17 PM
  • tyman128 so I FINALLY hit a solid break point, just finished midterms and now just working on some papers over the next few weeks... it feels good. Actually just got back last night from being in Dallas with my friends, went to one of their houses and stayed the night there and went to the Braves vs. Dodgers game in Arlington Friday night. It was a good time, loved it a lot
    October 18 04:42 PM
  • JayEnder I dunno how you found that band... But damn dude. Righteous stuff. I knew I was gonna love it after hearing dat guitar tone haha. The Counterparts riffage is real. Those cleans at the end of Accident got me feeling feelings.. which isn't an everyday occurance lol
    October 11 01:39 AM
  • JayEnder s*** man, I stand corrected. Its actually on Spotify right now! Definitely give it a jam, sounds solid c: June is such a banger.
    October 9 10:20 PM
  • tyman128 Yeah for sure, I'm trying to keep it all from overwhelming me by balancing as much as I can haha. It's a bit rough, but I'm already halfway through the semester so I feel like I'm doing well enough
    October 9 10:12 PM
  • SaveBandit My dude, thanks for the rec :] What would you compare them to? I'll try to check it out this weekend!
    October 9 08:22 PM
  • JayEnder Nice looks like a jam brother, I will def give it a listen. Also keep your eyes peeled for that new Bloom EP next week :]
    October 9 05:49 PM
  • tyman128 School's been alright man, just been a bit chaotic lately haha. Currently prepping for midterms next week (4 exams, time to die) so that's been taking up a lot of my time. Also trying to balance my academic time with sports and socializing with friends (and the good ole dealing with feelings, ya know)
    October 9 04:10 AM
  • Evok Dude I cant believe you work at McIntosh. Props to you!!! I'll likely only ever dream of owning their gear but I respect them greatly as I've been lucky enough to hear their tube amps on some electrostatics and was absolutely floored.
    October 8 10:10 PM
  • tyman128 Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, school and stuff was taking over most of my time. That album has definitely been up on my list to check, need to just find the time to give it a spin!
    October 5 07:24 PM
  • SaveBandit Nice dude! I'm out in OR. The furthest east I've ever been is like Detroit lol. I'm sure something will pop up soon. Seems like it's super expensive out there (I'm sure it's just because of where I live lol) but I'm sure the burbs are more affordable.
    September 24 02:08 PM
  • SaveBandit That's rad. I've seen pics of Lake George but I've never been that far east before. Been on the west coast my whole life. Hahah I feel ya. I feel like it took forever to find our first apartment. It'll happen dude! You guys looking in the city or in the outskirts area?
    September 23 06:38 PM
  • SaveBandit That sounds incredible haha. Those simple chill trips are the best kinds imo. Get a hotel for a weekend and just mess around the city and check out new stuff with no crazy set plans. You'll have a blast!
    September 23 05:37 PM
  • SaveBandit We shouldn't have too hard of a time selling. Everything is moving like hot cakes out here lol. Yeah my girlfriends mom actually owns a couple rentals and she's going to let us stay at one for super cheap while we find the next house we want to buy. I'm pretty stoked. Just never thought I'd buy and sell my first house at age of 27 lol. What're you going to do to celebrate the birthday?
    September 23 04:05 PM
  • SaveBandit Well s*** man, happy early birthday! That'll be fun. I've just been working and cleaning up the house. We bought our first house back in December and fixed it up a little and now we are flipping it. Wasn't really part of the plan but neither was a pandemic or civil rights movement lmao. But it's been good, just super stressful.
    September 23 03:30 PM
  • SaveBandit What's up brother? How you been?
    September 23 03:17 PM
  • tyman128 Honestly, I definitely enjoy it more than END. It's definitely far from monotonous, it's just absolute chaos in the best way possible! Sounds like some deathcore/grind stuff with TDEP behind it
    September 18 08:22 PM
  • tyman128 Definitely do it man! It reminds me a lot of the new END album, just a lot more mathcore influence. It's absolutely brutal, I freakin love it
    September 18 08:13 PM
  • tyman128 Yeah, it's honestly really annoying... there was so much they could've done but it failed. However, one album that I'm checking now that is absolutely destroying me is "Sleeper Vessels" by Fawn Limbs... this thing is a banger
    September 18 08:09 PM
  • tyman128 Well dang, I might have to go to a show eventually for them! However, their newest album, after listening to it again, is just so dang underwhelming... might just drop it to a 2.5 honestly
    September 18 06:11 PM
  • tyman128 Oh dang, that must've been a killer live show! I would love to see FFAK in concert at some point, but I would've wanted to go before Dark Skies hit because they definitely have more of that mainstream, melodic influence in their show... still would probably be fun
    September 17 08:47 PM
  • tyman128 I've always been partial to Deathgrip just because that was the album that I was most hype for since I had literally discovered them just the year prior, but CD and Slave to Nothing are definitely my favorites (also because STN is the first album I heard from them). Dark Skies and The Path are easily their weakest and most boring to me
    September 17 03:21 PM
  • tyman128 Haha, don't if you aren't impressed by the singles. I personally think the two best songs on the album are Breaking the Mirror and Locked In My Head. The heavy songs are just pretentious and lazily written. It's easily their worst album imo, might try to churn out a review next weekend or something when I finish up exams and papers and all that stuff
    September 17 03:14 PM
  • tyman128 Haha I feel that. All of my friends throughout my life have all been shorter than me, I may have had like one person I knew well enough taller than me, but I'm usually the tallest easily. There are definitely people at Baylor who are taller than me, but no one that I know personally so
    September 17 03:06 PM
  • tyman128 I'm at about 6'4... not ridiculously tall but definitely taller than most haha
    September 17 02:52 PM
  • tyman128 Oh dang, parkour sounds like a trip! And yeah, with my height and stuff most people assume I would be in basketball or one of those tall build tight ends in football... but nah, I prefer volleyball. Actually that's a lie, I prefer football, but I haven't played in like 10 years because they didn't have football... so for now it's volleyball haha. I do plan on joining flag football next semester for intramurals, that should be fun
    September 17 02:42 PM
  • tyman128 Yeah that's definitely plan. And yeah, I'm hoping I can skip past the pre-requisite course since I literally play volleyball competitively haha! I found a group that goes almost daily to the gym and plays volleyball and it's so much freakin fun. I've already gotten back into the groove of it and I'm back to being a dominant player again and it feels good
    September 17 02:37 PM
  • tyman128 For sure for sure. Imma just get through this semester so I can get the credits I need (my philosophy class actually takes care of one of my Gen Ed sections and the same goes for my Honors Calc). This semester has been pretty rough with course load (I mean, two Honors courses and a level 3000-Junior level music history class will do that to you), so next semester I might throw in a fitness course like Volleyball so I can relax a bit from the immense coursework
    September 17 02:33 PM
  • tyman128 The Honors College is basically just a title thing I've realized. At first, I was gonna do it because I thought it would enhance my major, but to graduate with Honors is essentially pointless with an English degree because most people who go into the Honors College are either getting an Honors degree or they're utilizing the program to enhance their science degrees (because it is a humanities based program). So basically, what I've been gathering from other people, is I'm wasting time with it
    September 17 02:19 PM
  • tyman128 For sure! I mean, I'm technically doing a double major with the Honors College (even though it's a program and not a major which is all the more reason to drop it tbh). I've also considered a minor in Music, only thing is you can't minor in Music Theory and you have to do performance music... which your boy does NOT do performance music haha
    September 17 02:12 PM
  • tyman128 Honestly considering doing the double major path for real. I have a meeting with my advisor next Wednesday so I'm gonna ask her all the stuff that I need to for that, and I'll see what my best options are and all that fun stuff.
    September 17 01:39 PM
  • tyman128 Oh that's sick man! I plan on taking a minor in something, just not sure yet. I was hoping there would be a minor concentration in either Journalism or Education, but those don't seem to exist, so I honestly might take on Religion and look down those routes. The Religion department here has a lot of great opportunities and great scholarships, so it might be worth taking that to have a potential career option there too.. just to like expand my options for post-school.
    September 17 03:21 AM
  • tyman128 Geez dude, freakin Calc 3?? Yeah, screw that haha. I'm only taking Calc 1 because it was basically the last thing I took in high school so I wanted to take something I knew. I only need 3 semester hours of a math for my major, so I just decided to get it out of the way this semester. Next semester I plan on taking my 6-10 semester hours of science so I can start focusing primarily on English. I also have the Honors College stuff to take care of, but I'm probably just gonna drop it tbh
    September 16 01:45 PM
  • tyman128 That's awesome to hear man! College life has been pretty great, just been staying on top of school and developing some good friendships and all that stuff. I actually have a calculus exam tomorrow that I've been studying for so we'll see how that goes tomorrow. Overall though I've been really enjoying though it is a bit tough to not have family here, but it's been alright
    September 16 01:33 AM
  • tyman128 Heck yea brother! They're absolutely insane, I've loved all their singles up until now. I am counting down the days til they have an album out man.Anyway, how've you been doing lately?? How's work treating you?
    September 15 08:48 PM
  • DDDeftoneDDD apparently very few appreciate it :\
    September 15 12:14 PM
  • DDDeftoneDDD TKS Steak, Motion Mosaic rules
    September 15 12:03 PM
  • tyman128 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUbb-zHd7C4Just gonna drop this little gem in here for you. This reminds me a lot of "You Fail Me" - era Converge and 2000s Underoath together, it's really really good
    September 3 06:49 PM
  • tyman128 With Tallah, their new album comes out in October and I think it has the chance to be the best AOTY for me personallyAnd I've heard like maybe a couple of songs from coldrain but I couldn't tell you which, should I check them out some more?
    August 31 08:18 PM
  • tyman128 Oh yeah, they're a whole different breed of nu metal. They have a lot of deathcore/hardcore influence mixed in there, riffs are super chunky and hard hitting... the main thing that classifies them as nu metal is the weird harmonies they do with the guitars and synths (occasionally)... they remind of if Slipknot went more hardcore/deathcore and just got weirder
    August 31 08:15 PM
  • tyman128 They're basically a nu metal revival band... but they're probably the best in the genre and one of my current favorite bands ever. They mix a TON of nu metal styles with their guitar riffs and melodies, the vocalist is absolutely insane (and I mean that in more than one way, his vocal techniques make him sound like an absolute madman), and the coolest thing is that the drummer is actually Mike Portnoy's son, and he brings the GROOVE.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwSa6zoY5UM
    August 31 08:09 PM
  • tyman128 Hailstorm absolutely rips, that chorus is amazing! The dude's vocals are freakin ridiculous, his screams have a nice timbre to them, and he is some soaring cleans. This band kinda reminds me of a mix between the groove and pure heaviness of Emmure and the technicality of something like Silent Planet. Also, have you heard the band Tallah?? (I feel like I've asked this before but I'm forgetting)
    August 31 07:52 PM
  • tyman128 I just started jamming the debut ... and this thing goes so hard
    August 31 07:46 PM
  • tyman128 So you probably jammed Psychosis... which is like my least favorite from the record haha. The rest of the EP is absolutely killer, and Enigma is like one of my favorite songs of the year by far... it's just so much fun!
    August 31 06:58 PM
  • tyman128 I'm all good, just tested negative thank God! Anyway, on a more musical note, have you heard the new Diamond Construct EP?
    August 31 06:23 PM
  • tyman128 Yeah for real haha! Gonna see if I get positive or negative tomorrow... Just hoping that I didn't get in contact with anyone because I've been out with some friends today and I really don't wanna be a cause of them going into quarantine and stuff
    August 31 02:45 AM
  • tyman128 Sick! I'll definitely have to check it out. In other news, I don't think Baylor is gonna stay open for long. In my dorm hall, there has been an increase of 21 COVID cases on the 3rd and 4th floors so they're on full lockdown, and the rest of us on the 1st and 2nd floors have to get mandatory testing on Monday... some idiots went to a frat party last weekend and infected people here... why are freshmen absolute idiots??
    August 30 03:50 AM
  • tyman128 so I know most people are bashing on it, but is PVRIS worth checking out?
    August 30 03:21 AM
  • tyman128 Oh yeah the song is definitely growing on me immensely too... Like I'm noticing some more of JT's occasional range that isn't monotonous, like his short transitions to highs... he needs to do more of that because it sounds sick
    August 28 03:36 AM
  • tyman128 I feel like placement will be an important factor for this song... if properly placed, this song could absolutely destroy in context of the playthrough
    August 27 06:53 PM
  • tyman128 That's a fair assessment! I do wish JT was a bit more varied like he was in Eye of God, but Jesse sounds amazing in the chorus and it has just a nice, solid backing riff letting him soar. The solo is ridiculous, that one harmonic riff hurt my head with how fast that tremelo stuff freakin was... then that groove right after the solo is a beautiful transition
    August 27 06:48 PM
  • tyman128 Have you heard that new track yet?? I'm excited to hear your thoughts for sure
    August 27 06:34 PM
  • tyman128 Haha... I'm sure you're gonna dig it a lot... you'll be surprised
    August 26 10:05 PM
  • tyman128 So I don't know if you checked the new Erra leak..... but my gosh
    August 26 09:30 PM
  • tyman128 For sure, there's always a chance that he might like it! I just gotta compile some bands like TDEP and Botch who use a lot of jazzy influence in their music to create the dissonance and all that. We shall see though
    August 26 02:09 PM
  • tyman128 I would love it if he knew about the bands haha... if I not, I hope he at least likes it lol
    August 26 01:25 AM
  • tyman128 Definitely, I'll be sure to jump into some office hours and show some Dillinger Escape Plan and other metal bands that use jazz
    August 25 10:50 PM
  • tyman128 and techniques of the genre... I mean, that's literally what I do on a nearly daily basis on here and with my music listening haha
    August 25 09:59 PM
  • tyman128 For sure bro, I have absolutely no choice hahah! My philosophy class is STACKED with reading assignments (probably an average of 30-40 pages a day it seems)... then put some calculus work and additional reading in religion and I gotta full scheduleOne class (obviously other than English since that's my major) that I'm looking forward to is Jazz and its history... The class is literally reading historical context and then listening to jazz in class to analyze and differentiate the styles
    August 25 09:58 PM
  • tyman128 It honestly feels really great. It's a bit surreal, but I'm enjoying it so far... we'll see how classes go and stuff haha
    August 25 02:37 AM
  • tyman128 Oh awesome! Hope that all works out for you. Just got finished with my first class, so that was pretty fun. Supposedly one of the students in my class has COVID so they had to skip... so this should be a pretty interesting semester haha
    August 24 02:07 PM
  • tyman128 Yeah I hope so bro, guess we'll see hahaHow's work been for you man?
    August 21 09:11 PM
  • Joeman82 It does speak volumes about the quality of a ?post-hardcore? band when *I* only like them, not love them, lol.
    August 21 06:20 PM
  • Joeman82 Oh I won?t deny that. Night verses drummer and Jason should not be doing an RATM rip-off
    August 21 06:07 PM
  • Joeman82 I actually like fever but yeah it ain?t got s*** on this. Unfortunately fever is getting legit hype behind it so...
    August 21 05:57 PM
  • Joeman82 I just ****ing found out about pressure cracks in the search results of the new Parker canon project and letlive. is one of my favorite bands. Not gonna lie. Really pissed I didn?t find them out earlier.
    August 21 05:52 PM
  • tyman128 Oh, it's for sure definitely exciting and stuff but I'm hoping nothing goes wrong haha... I'll definitely be careful, but I just hope other people will too so that we don't have to leave
    August 21 04:31 PM
  • tyman128 I only have one class online, one class that's hybrid, and the other three are in person! Well... for now, we'll see what happens over the next few months
    August 21 04:48 AM
  • tyman128 Went pretty well bro! Finally got to meet my roommate in person, caught up with an old friend from childhood, and then met up with some friends I met online today and had lunch with them. I start classes Monday but already have quite a bit of work to do before them haha
    August 21 03:58 AM
  • tyman128 well, I?m finally moved into college haha
    August 20 02:21 AM
  • Futures i'll add that to the list. thanks man!
    August 19 07:23 PM
  • Futures yeah damn i remember that. awful. so many accident drug od's lately. same with the guy from volumes. so sad. any of their other albums worth a jam outside to plant a seed?
    August 19 07:14 PM
  • Futures ah yeah! i for sure jammed to plant a seed a ton. fun album.
    August 19 07:02 PM
  • Futures haha yes. i feel like most people took that path our age. both seminal albums for me. although more daylight dies for me. still one of my favs. howard was such a beast
    August 19 06:56 PM
  • Futures yeah definitely. first started with metal through like metallica then slipknot the american new wave of heavy metal bands lol (remember that scene?) like killswitch, lamb of god and god forbid. then myspace deathcore and risecore/sumerian metalcore became super popular. went all in. you similar?
    August 19 06:48 PM
  • Futures ah yeah that takes me back haha. i think growing up in that era as a metal fan already everyone was into that stuff. that stuff was so popular. we gotta go back lol
    August 19 06:43 PM
  • Futures yeah might have to give at daggers drawn a spin now haha
    August 19 06:36 PM
  • Futures haha very nice. i remember sea of treachery's paramore cover s*** was huge back in the day. conducting and woe is tyrants also rule hard.
    August 19 03:15 AM
  • Futures yessss haha. classic stuff. what were you jamming?
    August 19 01:37 AM
  • Futures good to hear man! glad you're doing well.
    August 18 10:32 PM
  • Futures damn dude sounds awesome. seems like a good gig!
    August 18 08:21 PM
  • Ninjahague listen to that new within destruction lmfao
    August 18 07:58 PM
  • Futures jamming at work non stop that's pretty nice! what do you do?
    August 18 07:26 PM
  • Futures yeah crazy how you just blaze through albums like that haha. i don't have the mental capacity to do it. one a day max. gotta soak it in and savor it. then return for more jamz m/
    August 18 03:29 AM
  • JayEnder Appreciate the thought brother :] definitely gonna add that to my hype list for this year.
    August 18 03:21 AM
  • Futures nice! really great band. love cities and vital a lot.
    August 18 03:20 AM
  • JayEnder DUDE. I was just jamming Cold the other day, thought to myself when tf are these guys gonna drop some more tunes? I wouldn't have found out about that either cause it looks like they signed to a dif label. Thanks bro m/
    August 18 03:12 AM
  • Futures absolutely man. it's just straight forward heavy. the tone is so sick. grooves so hard.
    August 18 03:11 AM
  • Futures yeah those 3 are super consistently great. oh also i listened to perfect war forever finally the ep by glass cloud. it's ****ing awesome. so damn heavy
    August 18 02:50 AM
  • Futures damn disappointing. especially after so long lol. one of my favorite bands. when i am god is one of my hardest 5s
    August 18 02:44 AM
  • SaveBandit Yoooo. I found Bloom on Dreambound a while back and completely forgot about them. Thanks for the reminder, that song was sick!
    August 18 02:14 AM
  • Futures yes and love micah on that small feature. speaking of which never checked out their last album. probably should do that even if it's just decent.
    August 18 01:59 AM
  • Futures dude jammed sky eats airplane s/t. really great album. ahead of it's time. too "gay" for metal dudes and too technical for risecore dudes. really interesting lol. it would play so well if it came out today.
    August 17 11:41 PM
  • Joeman82 I mean the version of feel good drag is pretty good even if it doesn?t have the screams in the bridge
    August 17 02:45 PM
  • Joeman82 Cities is my fav and vitals is second. Dude can?t lie The Resistance live was ****ing fire. So was like every song they played on Cities and Vital. YOU DISMANTLE ME! YOU DISMANTLE ME! WHY DO YOU STAY UNTIL YOU SEE BLOOD? Good s***
    August 17 02:34 PM
  • Joeman82 It was just them but it was like an almost 2 hour sethttps://www.setlist.fm/setlist/anberlin/2019/saint-andrews-hall-detroit-mi-4b9157d6.html
    August 17 02:22 PM
  • Joeman82 Saw them on their comeback tour for legit $5 cuz I got the tickets last minute. Was a killer set too, but since they?re a Christain band like NO ONE moved around or moshed and everyone stood a respectful distance from each other lmaooooo
    August 17 02:08 PM
  • Joeman82 Also nice to see you have heard anberlin?s discog now
    August 17 03:37 AM
  • Joeman82 It?s defo steakcore lol
    August 17 03:34 AM
  • Joeman82 Get on year of the knife?s new release you?ll probably like it
    August 17 02:30 AM
  • Divaman Nice.
    August 17 01:26 AM
  • Lord(e)Po)))ts U are a ****ing legend
    August 17 01:22 AM
  • Lord(e)Po)))ts HOW!?!?!??
    August 17 01:03 AM
  • Divaman So my next question is, how did you manage to post on it after it was closed? Pretty neat trick.
    August 17 12:45 AM
  • Divaman Sorry Steak. It was turning into a brouhaha.
    August 16 11:13 PM
  • tyman128 Dude, my friend sent me over a newer metalcore band that absolutely slaps called Emuness. They just released their new album called "Open Wounds" and it's got a nice mix of beefy riffs and progcore technicality... definitely think you'd enjoy it!
    August 14 06:41 AM
  • Futures thanks man! i'll keep on keeping on and jam m/ hit me up whenever!
    August 13 02:20 AM
  • Futures nice talking man. glad to hear you're well in these tough times.
    August 13 02:13 AM
  • Futures seems all nu metal influences or going soft lol. s*** sucks. that band seems right up my ally. i'll have to check them out!
    August 13 01:49 AM
  • Futures absolutely man. i miss that era so much. when rise, sumerian and myspacecore were kings. deathcore and metalcore were massive and popular. locally too. now it feels so lifeless and dead. it's sad. now it feels more focused on technicality and a lot of it doesn't do it. i miss the fun. you feel me?
    August 13 12:47 AM
  • Futures my music journey was basically all metalcore-deathcore from the early 10s then finding this site and real music and disowning them, then growing up and realizing that a lot of it is still fun as hell haha. not everything has to be high art just like some junz working out or to brainless listen to. i feel like that happens to a lot of people lol. so much nostalgia for all that stuff. now the metal scene is like dying and it's depressing.
    August 12 11:07 PM
  • Futures thanks man. i jam a lot of stuff but it's always nice to comeback to stuff i jammed in high school haha. fun stuff. love talking music with you dude.
    August 12 09:54 PM
  • Futures thanks brother. yeah it really is just a fun album that aged well compared to a lot of crap out of that scene. didn't check out those last two emmure albums might give those a go for fun haha. but yes sky eats airplane i will check out for sure. i really liked gnosis by monuments. that guy was a unique vocalist. the other one is barretto right?
    August 12 09:47 PM
  • Futures damn crazy lol. forgot how great it was. love jerry's vox and obv travis is a beast. the tone he got for that album is just unreal. i was actually wondering if you had any recs for something similar. seems like a unique thing. something just crushing heavy but with some clean choruses.
    August 12 09:29 PM
  • Futures lol yeah seems like most people i knew left and i don't know many posters. weird but people move on i guess. idk seems different. but i just jammed glass cloud for the first in forever. such a blast. really loved it.
    August 12 08:27 PM
  • Futures yeah it's really not good. hopefully things just work themselves out. but yeah been jamming a bit. wanted to talk with people about it but don't really want to post here again haha.
    August 12 08:22 PM
  • Futures he's a power plant manager. his plant powered a paper mill and the mill shut down. paper industry was already on the way out but corona rapidly accelerated it. probably has until next month to find something. parents going to have to take out of their 401k if we have to stay longer. ****ing sucks man. he's really qualified and experienced so i have some hope he'll get something good again. market seems barren now though like for most people.
    August 12 08:17 PM
  • Futures nice man. hope you are well! i'm ok. been really tough with the virus and now my dad lost his job because of it. probably gonna have to move again for the second time in a year. just a lot of uncertainty. trying to deal with it. jamming hard again haha.
    August 12 08:12 PM
  • Futures bro. sup.
    August 12 08:00 PM
  • tyman128 For sure bro, the new In Hearts Wake has some good moments. There's a portion of it that just doesn't sit well with me at all (for example, I absolutely hate "Worldwide Suicide"... I just think it's an extremely boring song), but then some songs like "Force of Life" and "Iron Dice" absolutely hit hard!
    August 12 12:38 AM
  • tyman128 Freakin legit man, that chorus is what I WISH Make Them Suffer did... just that perfect alternation of the two vocal styles playing off of each other
    August 12 12:32 AM
  • tyman128 Dude, there's a new Alpha Wolf track... and they actually tried out some new elements than just chugcore nu metal stuff... them melodics actually sound really freakin cleanhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0RAyGpgigA
    August 12 12:19 AM
  • tyman128 Oh yeah it did! It's a ridiculously fun guitar riff to get down... now that I'm this low, think Imma give some Spiritbox and Crystal Lake a shot on guitar
