  • SandwichBubble Thanks, will check this asap.
    November 20 05:47 PM
  • SandwichBubble Looks awesome, thanks!
    October 30 03:25 PM
  • ArsMoriendi Does "post metal/metal/drone" because I don't like tagging things experimental
    October 24 05:22 PM
  • ArsMoriendi Metal jazz oh no :o I'll listen to the opener
    October 24 05:16 PM
  • Trifolium Ah ok! I got some serious Can vibes from the occasional vocals on IV. Halleluwah and so on. But perhaps that's just my untrained ear haha! Thanks anyway.
    October 23 07:02 AM
  • Trifolium Hi Ghandhi! Can you tell me something about how much Can and Faust were involved with each other? There seem to be so many parallels between them, so I was wondering who influenced whom, or whether it was more like a general musical landscape at the time or something. Anyway, Faust IV was great!
    October 22 11:13 AM
  • SandwichBubble Experimental bluegrass? I can dig it (maybe). Added to the list.
    September 23 10:40 PM
  • SandwichBubble "cave prog" gotta love bandcamp tags | I'll check it for sure.
    July 10 12:44 AM
  • SandwichBubble How the hell did I miss that too? Guess I just assumed it was their debut, whoops. Thanks, will check that one too.

  • SandwichBubble Speaking of 2020 only having EPs, both of these are like 20 minutes long ): But both are awesome, thanks again.
    July 9 01:18 AM
  • SandwichBubble Oooo, I was actually in dire need of some 2020 albums. Swear it feels like everyone on bandcamp's releasing EPs only for the past few months. Will check both ASAP.

  • SandwichBubble Re:County Z Found them digging through Discogs, don't know if any of their other stuff is online anywhere. | Re:Ayler Back in 2016, I was just blindly adding ratings from my big microsoft word doc of album ratings. Must've listened to both two separate times at some point and forgot they were the same when rating them on sput... I'll ask for them to be merged.
    June 30 07:19 PM
  • ArsMoriendi Remember to rec for this round of the Umbrella :P
    June 27 04:27 PM
  • SandwichBubble Yeah man, straight 4.0s across the board from me. Thanks again. | Didn't really hear Wolf Parade all that much, but I absolutely heard some Frog Eyes in their post-90s stuff. That indie art rock sound, I guess.
    June 24 02:52 AM
  • SandwichBubble I forgot all about this! Gonna check this immediately, thank you for the reminder.
    June 9 02:54 PM
  • ArsMoriendi Someone pointed out that I have heard your rec before, so you gotta repick. I guess After Laughter by Wendy Rene is your choice then?
    June 8 06:59 PM
  • ArsMoriendi Don't forget your Umbrella rec :P Due before Tuesday
    June 6 07:00 PM
  • SandwichBubble I at least agree that they're post-hardcore, so there's that at least.
    June 4 05:44 PM
  • SandwichBubble One-Way Conversation has alt rock in there too. I'm not budging on this.
    June 4 05:29 PM
  • SandwichBubble Sorry man, sounded like alt rock to me (especially later on).
    June 4 04:44 PM
  • SandwichBubble Got it, thanks for sharing it.
    June 2 03:00 PM
  • SandwichBubble What're you searching for? I'm getting nothing.
    June 2 02:25 PM
  • SandwichBubble I know, I know. But if I really like the other albums, I'll just buy it and hit you up with a link. No worries.
    June 2 03:47 AM
  • SandwichBubble Laaaame. You got $4.50? We could split the cost of an Amazon download (can't find it on slsk). | At least their other stuff is on bandcamp, will check those.
    June 2 03:36 AM
  • SandwichBubble This is pretty fun. Is the full album (s/t 2020) out somewhere?
    June 2 03:13 AM
  • ArsMoriendi Look man, I have no idea that's just what Jom said.
    June 1 04:35 PM
  • ArsMoriendi Jom says ?Union? in band names messed up the sites code somehow.
    June 1 03:59 PM
  • ArsMoriendi I want my ratings to reflect the number of albums/EPs I've heard and rating singles would get in the way of that.
    May 31 12:44 AM
  • ArsMoriendi Don't forget your umbrella rec! :P
    May 30 03:14 PM
  • Trifolium Ooooo yeah, will check it out for sure! I'll let you know what I think, probably going to happen today. Thanks!
    May 27 06:23 AM
  • SandwichBubble 5 for 4 deal, can't beat that.
    May 27 03:43 AM
  • SandwichBubble Sorry man, no substitutions. | Buuuut, I'll check it after I go through Lightwave. Been meaning to anyway.
    May 27 03:35 AM
  • Trifolium Shifting the convo to here. Yeah I saw a few of those as well, the not in a label fake looking ones. But I'm going to order the Oumou albums that I don't own tomorrow, stoked! Glad to finally know someone who also likes her!
    May 26 09:49 PM
  • SandwichBubble RYM is broken right now, but I'll add it to the list later. Thank you.
    May 25 05:23 AM
  • ArsMoriendi Thank you for Robovine. I loved Get Dusted!
    May 25 03:41 AM
  • AnimalsAsSummit Ah I understand, there is a lot of corn and crappy neo-prog, for sure. Looking forward to hearing what you think w fresh ears
    May 24 09:52 PM
  • AnimalsAsSummit Wow surprised at that 1.5 for Milliontown, u don't like that album?
    May 24 06:23 PM
  • SandwichBubble Yeah, I know. I'm putting it off cause I'm scared.
    May 23 05:16 AM
  • ArsMoriendi Check the new list
    May 20 09:25 PM
  • bloodshy You were right about Tom Waits.
    May 19 12:32 AM
  • Cygnatti damn guess i gotta get right into Devo next huh
    May 18 01:21 AM
  • Cygnatti i hear it, it blows my mind, then i think about how half those songs are from ****in 1975, and then it blows my mind even more!! wtf, man.
    May 18 01:14 AM
  • Cygnatti Datapanik in the Year 0 (plus) Final Solution is basically a 5/5 change my mind.
    May 18 01:12 AM
  • SandwichBubble That's awesome, I might start using that. | The only script I have for rateyourmusic is this: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/2280-rym-bandcamp-tracklist-formatter | Works like a charm.
    May 16 06:59 PM
  • SandwichBubble They're usually pretty good with that sort of thing, just have to make it really obvious what needs to be removed afterwards. I asked in the thread. | Bonzo Dog Band is technically the correct band name for that release, but I feel like having two pages is pointless if there's no real difference between the two.
    May 16 02:33 AM
  • SandwichBubble Don't think I could watch an interview about this new record without getting depressed, but I'll check out the Six Demon Bag review(?) on the same channel. Looks cool.
    May 15 12:17 AM
  • SandwichBubble Will check this right now, thanks!
    May 14 10:48 PM
  • SandwichBubble Considering we now know the "800 album edits" theory is false, that's fine. But you'll have to provide them with the album art in the request or they might pick some random s*** off google images.

  • Cygnatti late evening love song vibes ~ imo on the same level as the killing moon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mA54NBtPKdI
    May 12 03:27 AM
  • SandwichBubble Cool, keep me posted. | 1. You keep putting spaces behind band names ("Robert Wyatt ") and at this point, I'm worried something's wrong with your backspace key or something. 2. You spelled "Ensemble" wrong.
    May 9 03:43 AM
  • SandwichBubble A guess. All of this is just guessing honestly. | More I think about it, there's a possibility that users with fewer edits pre-artpocalypse (August 2019 I think?) will never be able to add art and only those who had the power before it all happened are able to edit ever again. Or until management notices something's wrong and fixes it, but I'm not counting on that.
    May 7 12:32 AM
  • SandwichBubble And adding album art didn't work? s***, then it might be broken for real. Maybe it's triggered by slightly more edits or something (825? 850?) | Also I see that space you left after Space Streakings in the similar bands section. C'mon now.

    May 6 04:54 AM
  • SandwichBubble I rated the comp that compiled those two, but I guess I didn't know how to add albums back in 2016.
    May 6 04:46 AM
  • SandwichBubble I dig it, will check.
    May 6 04:11 AM
  • Bedex cheers!
    May 5 07:26 PM
  • Bedex ooh I see sput cropped my shout, I probably used a character it didn't like - I meant to say recs similar to Steve Lehman and Selebeyone? I jammed that album today and really enjoyed the jazz rap tracks on it :] thanks a bunch!
    May 5 05:57 PM
  • Bedex Gandhiman, would you have some recs similar to Steve Lehman
    May 5 03:05 PM
  • SandwichBubble I already fixed it, but on Femme Generation, Gang of Four had a space after it. Not a big deal (it still links to the right artists), looks a bit ugly is all.
    May 3 06:30 PM
  • SandwichBubble Hey when you're adding similar bands, make sure there's no space after the name.

  • SandwichBubble Yeah, it's when they put the review up at the top (again, sorry). Usually people either ask for a feature in the meds thread or the meds just do it themselves. Guess it was a slow review day or something.
    May 2 02:29 AM
  • SandwichBubble I wasn't thanking you, I was thanking the mods (sorry). | It'll be nice to see if 800 really is the magic number, godspeed.

    April 21 05:19 AM
  • SandwichBubble Dunno what a "wellies" is | Pretty great punk album, honest.
    April 20 06:01 PM
  • SandwichBubble They only care if someone reports it. Nobody but maybe a handful go on old punk bandpages. And even fewer would tattle, so you should be fine just putting it under EP. Sucks that there's no singles category, but work within the limits I guess.
    April 19 08:29 PM
  • SandwichBubble Why are you adding [7"] to all the titles? Just the title is fine, unless there's another album with the same name.
    April 19 08:23 PM
  • SandwichBubble Probably because of the ampersand in the artist name. | It's my fault for adding the artist name with an ampersand. I added it back in 2017 and I didn't know about the issue.
    April 19 05:50 PM
  • DoofDoof you got banned for misinterpreted joke posts? ouch
    April 18 05:07 PM
  • garas I just found it simply funny how serious they tried to be about it (just the title was already LOL-worthy) and idk, the spoken lines sounded especially funny in Spanish to me, so I cut back on my rating mostly just becasue the poor vocals (a 3.5 is still pretty good, though). And caring about politics and whatsoever in BM... duh, who does have time for that? Cringe, but hey, if they riff good than I'll enjoy it.
    April 15 08:26 PM
  • garas Um, why so? :0 But I'm asking it seriously.
    April 15 06:54 PM

  • JokineAugustus This is nowhere near Spanish Flu, and that's what people seem to make it out to be.
    March 29 03:59 PM
  • JokineAugustus Mostly the media articles. Some have clickbait titles saying how a young person died, but won't mention they had some life threatening disease till the end. I think it's gonna take a year for everything to go back to normal.
    March 29 03:56 PM
  • JokineAugustus All I know is that it's mostly elderly/ bad immune systems that pass away.
    March 29 03:47 PM
  • JokineAugustus True. Still a lot we don't know about this.
    March 29 03:45 PM
  • JokineAugustus So how is that not low? Just wash your hands often, don't touch your face. I didn't say quarantine was bad, but hanging out with 1 or 2 other people won't do anything as long as you're careful.
    March 29 03:41 PM
  • JokineAugustus The media isn't doing the public any favours.
    March 29 03:35 PM
  • JokineAugustus Well the mortality rate is very low. People just need to use common sense. The grocery hoarders piss me off the most.

  • SandwichBubble I'll check Damascus. | "indie rock" That sass was unnecessary, but I respect it.
    March 14 10:46 PM
  • SandwichBubble So all we need to do in the future is get me to say some dumb s*** in the comments of an edit, someone will swoop in to prove me wrong, and it'll get approved. Brilliant, good to know.
    March 12 10:07 PM
  • SandwichBubble Well whatever, it worked do it now before they get distracted by a piece of lint or something.
    March 12 08:57 PM
  • SandwichBubble Then why did it take so goddamn long
    March 12 08:53 PM
  • SandwichBubble They tend to do the newest additions/edits first, for some reason that I can't seem to figure out. So add them, even if it feels pointless sometimes. Wish they at least mentioned issues with edits if they're gonna be anal about it.
    March 12 05:00 PM
  • SandwichBubble Get a spunky intern with something to prove to do it at least, I have pages of track ratings just sitting on my PC taking up space looking ugly damn it.
    March 12 04:40 PM
  • SandwichBubble I was going through this: https://rateyourmusic.com/misc/notrack_you_know | How long does it take just to get a comment from a certified queue checker on RYM, jesus.
    March 12 04:35 PM
  • SandwichBubble Already heard of them, just need to get around to checking their discography. I'll put it at the top of my to-listen list.

    February 12 09:45 PM
  • SandwichBubble Sitar and tabla is synonymous with 60s pop rock to me now, semi-hate it. | I'll put Ceyleib People on the check list.
    February 4 08:11 PM
  • SandwichBubble Re:Pinocchio And The Puppets | Pretty cool, sucks it's just the one single. The followup band seems to be fairly standard pop (going by RYM genre tags).
    February 4 07:48 PM
  • SandwichBubble I'm on mobile right now, but I'll check it later.

  • DungeonBoy Thanks Ghandhibuddy!
    February 3 09:22 PM

    February 3 04:56 AM
  • JohnnyoftheWell Ohhh you hit subscribe?! Sneaky (and foolish lmao)
    January 28 03:41 PM

    January 27 09:07 PM
  • parksungjoon lmao i see you takin that rating down a notch
    January 27 09:05 PM
  • SandwichBubble Alright, I won't touch that one and in three days if it's still not there, I'll go ask about it in the meds thread again.
    January 27 04:14 PM
  • SandwichBubble I've asks in the meds thread once, but I don't think they believe it and pretty much always give the old reliable response of "make sure the image is small and .jpg." Also, I'm still not even sure regular users can't add art at all. Have you tried recently and waited like 3 days? Maybe it's just super slow now post-album-art-pocolypse. I'm grasping at straws.
    January 27 03:56 PM
  • SandwichBubble Well, I have a decent theory backed up by some old users as sources. | So, I think that once you reach an arbitrary number of edits (maybe like 1000? 2000? I have no idea), you don't have to wait for mod approval. However, ever since the album art crash happened back in August, pretty much anyone below that number of edits can't add art at all. Whether by design or a glitch, I dunno. So the only people that have "the power" are mods and users with that certain number of edits.
    January 27 03:53 PM
  • SandwichBubble Feels like they have like 3 active bands signed these days (pretty meh ones at that), but saluted nonetheless.
    January 22 01:37 AM
  • SandwichBubble Nice, added to the list.
    January 21 11:57 PM
  • SandwichBubble Post-caveman music.
    January 18 11:58 PM
  • SandwichBubble Of the snippet I just heard, sounds like free improv. But JUST free improv sounds wrong, so maybe like sound collage, industrial, no wave? Tough call.
    January 18 09:56 PM
  • SandwichBubble My checklist's so exclusive the waiting list has a waiting list.
    January 18 03:50 PM
  • SandwichBubble This sounds pretty gooooood. Pretty hefty discog though, I'll check them out (eventually).
    January 18 03:48 PM
  • SandwichBubble Looks cool and folkways has never steered me wrong before so I'll be sure to check it.
    January 10 04:30 AM
  • SandwichBubble No disrespect meant, please inform the boys. First album was pretty great though. :)
    January 5 06:47 PM
  • SandwichBubble Sorry man, was just too much at times (if that makes sense). Apologize to your boys for me.
    January 5 05:58 PM
  • SandwichBubble Yep, I'm adding my sput ratings to RYM and I wanted to listen to the albums I had missed by both artists. Turns out I don't really like either anymore. Wall of 1.5s and 1.0s followed suit.

  • DoofDoof I had to stop reading comments boxes on Koz reviews this from 'Among the Leaves' onwards as there was a lot of backlash and gut reaction dismissal

  • ArsMoriendi Eh, I guess that one is just a simple folk song. Damn simple acoustic tracks giving these albums genre diversity haha!
    December 26 11:17 PM
  • ArsMoriendi I haven't heard Zen, but I'll take your word for it, my point is that a folk song might make Zen feel like it's 95% a punk album, but Cans and Brahams would not cause Fragile to feel like than 100% prog rock, despite not being rock.
    December 26 11:11 PM
  • ArsMoriendi I'm not saying all prog albums are concept albums, and I'm not saying all concept albums are prog albums. I'm saying that the storybook elements and overture that leads into rock is certainly something that adds to the prog feeling of the album, not takes away from it. Think of an album as kind of a recipe. Can I start writing in an analogy? I think my example may work best there.
    December 26 11:05 PM
  • ArsMoriendi No, but it also makes the album probably sound slightly less like a punk album, whereas Cans and Brahams and Peace A Beginning do the opposite.
    December 26 11:01 PM
  • ArsMoriendi It's a hidden track technically and mostly sounds like strings tuning, but it's on every pressing of Islands.
    December 26 10:59 PM
  • ArsMoriendi I feel like you're being too nitpicky, when all of those songs add to the prog-rock concepts their albums hold.
    December 26 10:57 PM
  • ArsMoriendi Eh, it's a set up to an otherwise guitar filled album, so sure. Is King Crimson's "Peace ? A Beginning" not prog rock? How about the Untitled track from Islands? What about Cans and Brahms by Yes?
    December 26 10:54 PM
  • ArsMoriendi Yes checked your link! Your version cuts 20 seconds off at the beginning, maybe because they start off quiet and the uploader didn't count them as part of the song.
    December 26 10:50 PM
  • ArsMoriendi Maybe it's keyboards? But I'm talking about the sound present during the first 30 seconds.
    December 26 10:48 PM
  • ArsMoriendi It goes from a jarring rock guitar sound to an orchestral overture that introduces later melodies to be heard on other album tracks to storybook type narration. What isn?t prog about that?
    December 26 10:37 PM
  • ArsMoriendi Sure. If it helps I haven't budged on my position.
    December 26 07:16 PM
  • ArsMoriendi Oh that?s neat! They could do with a discography comp. it?d easily fit one 1 CD anyway, even if you include the live album.
    December 24 08:50 PM
  • ArsMoriendi I listened to the Bound and Gagged EP, also I discovered they have 2 other songs from some comp. Weird how a good group only has 6 songs total though. :(
    December 24 07:58 PM
  • SandwichBubble Never heard of the director, looks interesting though. May check.
    December 16 02:01 AM
  • DoofDoof yeah, not great! there was definitely something there with corbyn/labour and they were deeply uncomfortable dealing with it
    December 14 04:03 PM
  • DoofDoof Can you resend I just accidentallyd your post on my shoutbox !!!
    December 14 08:45 AM
  • SandwichBubble Sounds cool. I'm in the middle of checking some albums for a "secret project" right now, but I'm probably gonna comb through some of my recommendeds soon so I'll put this one at the top of the list.
    December 14 12:19 AM
  • SandwichBubble That Henski/Yester album is awesome, yeah. Love it, love it, love it.
    December 8 03:41 AM
  • JohnnyoftheWell Holy s*** how far through have you combed?
    December 7 08:59 PM
  • SandwichBubble Re:Anthology I don't think I can edit the title to be any longer. You can try asking the Meds to give it the proper title, if you're up to it. | Also, concerning collab artist pages, I usually use "/" or "and" to separate the artists. The "/" works pretty well, so I use that one the most.
    December 6 03:13 PM
  • SandwichBubble Late reply, but this rules. I'll def check when I can.
    November 28 03:55 PM
  • JohnnyoftheWell Intriguing. Going to dip into an apparently hyped album I've already forgotten the name of but will see afterwards. And yup! Imo the only Seiko not worth checking is everything on kiti other than the first and last tracks. PINK is a dope EP and has some of her best indie folk/folk punk/whatever stuff on it
    November 25 12:41 AM
  • JohnnyoftheWell Hmm. And the new one?
    November 25 12:33 AM
  • JohnnyoftheWell Lol I mean there are very few arts not named Oomori Seiko that I'll gatekeep for and gecs are not one of them. Think it's either dumb fun or the highway there... I hated Black Dresses' second though, should I check their other stuff?
    November 25 12:30 AM
  • JohnnyoftheWell Oh lmao I acknowledge that is quite odd oops
    November 25 12:18 AM
  • JohnnyoftheWell I'm tipsy and was on the caligula thread and clicked on a random link which turned out to be your name damn what are the odds
    November 25 12:16 AM

  • SandwichBubble Dig it, will check the full compilation.
    November 24 08:30 PM
  • SandwichBubble Already knew about them, I think I added Fooking Despair to the site actually. Good reminder to check though, thanks.
    October 17 05:40 PM
  • SandwichBubble Yeah, I got it on slsk. No worries.
    October 17 12:24 AM
  • SandwichBubble Christ, talk about ungoogle-able. Nearly downloaded some other "treetops" discography off bandcamp. I dig the half-way point shift of that second one a lot. And with an album title like "Write out All the Lyrics From the First Crass LP on Your Math Notebook," I mean how could I not check this?
