  • Voivod Hey, I just added this Slovakian black metal band on Sputnik, haven't heard it yet, but someone already rooted for them on bandcamp: https://hexencave.bandcamp.com/album/obscurantism

  • Voivod What you can do however, is to let me know of early '90s Czechoslovakian metal you add to the site, so that I can check them out myself :-)

  • Voivod For what is worth, at the beginning I wasn't good either in writing reviews in English, but a lot of water passed under the bridge since then. Thanks for the fb invitation, but I'm largely inactive therein for some time now. Cheers!

  • mkamrass Hey man! So far in my life, college just started up again for me and I continue to work at my job also. As you can see, I have been listening to a fairly good amount of music also when I have the time. On an exciting note, I saw Revenge, Watain, Mayhem two days ago in concert when they came to my town and the show was amazing! Other than that, not much else haha. How about you?

  • mkamrass Yeah, with 500 soundoffs, that is a big number too. I appreciate that you find interest in my ratings and what I have listened to. If you ever need any recs, just ask. By the way, I did not realize that you did not know what "recs" meant but it is all good now that you know haha. I also appreciate the recs that you have given me; I will hopefully check them out sometime in my fairly busy schedule. All in all, it is awesome to hear from you again. :)

  • mkamrass As of right now, I have plans on going to only one concert in the future where I will be seeing The Devin Townsend Project, Animals as Leaders, and Monuments all in one night (I am extremely excited to finally see Devin). Aside from all that, now that summer is over, I am continuing to work at my job and I started going to college which has been going well for me. Back to you, I have no problem with you telling me more personal stuff and I am not annoyed by it.

  • mkamrass My best friend is actually a user on here and he was the one that introduced me to this site (his username is SadAndHolyGlow. Check out his profile sometime). Aside from all that, one problem about living in the U.S., particularly in Colorado, is that we do not get a ton of big metal festivals that come through here so I totally wish I could live in Europe for that reason haha. There have still been some pretty good little metal festivals I have been to here though.

  • mkamrass Hey Man. It is no problem that we have not talked in a while so do not be sorry. I am definitely glad to hear from you again. :) You sound like you had a pretty good summer especially going to some sick metal festivals. I honestly did not do that much this summer but I was unemployed for a little while and then I found a new job I guess I just worked a lot. There wasn't really any good bands that came to my town this summer so I basically just worked and hung out with my best friend a lot.

  • mkamrass I mean if you would like me to help you become better in the English language, I could gladly do that. If so, any questions? Of course I make mistakes too so I'm not perfect in the language either but I'm sure I can still help you. ;)Finally, it is AWESOME to hear from you again. :D
    July 29 04:22 AM
  • mkamrass Your English is perfectly fine for who you are. For me as an American, I am probably an exception even among my own people, because I really do try hard to be clear in my typing, texting, and talking. I probably try to hard but I just do not like being lazy in typing or texting for myself of course. I will not shun you for your lack of proficiency in a language that is not your own :) lol
    July 29 04:13 AM
  • mkamrass If you have recs for me, I would gladly love to hear what you have for me to listen too. I have a feeling I will have heard of some what you give me but still go ahead. Now for your English, I have no reason to judge you because you are from a different country, so I would expect you to not be completely proficient in the English language but you at least type well enough for me to understand what you are saying, so that is a positive. :)

  • mkamrass Man dude, there is soo much good music out there like you said and that is why I have not been listening to quite as much music as I did before I reached my 1000 ratings mark. With music now, I have been focusing more on listening to my favorite genres or slightly related genres. Speaking of related genres, I have heard of electro-industrial/aggrotech and I have heard some bands in the genres but I can't say I have heard enough bands, but I have liked what I have heard.

  • mkamrass As you can see with Maiden and Megadeth, I finally got around to listening to some albums by them but they both have been classic metal bands for many years before to me. Now with the Mayhem review I wrote, I actually did that a long time ago when I was still fairly new to Sputnik but it definitely is my favorite album by them, even if it is a compilation. Funny you say Ordo ad chao, that is only Mayhem LP that I have not listened to yet; I need to check it out.
    July 29 03:40 AM
  • mkamrass And yes, Acid Bath is a great example of one of those bands: In the past months, I had seen their albums in CD stores virtually every time I went and I was always curious to listen to them, which I finally listened to them with in the last couple of weeks and I love them so much now. Also, of course I have heard of and heard Megadeth and Iron Maiden (if anyone wants to call themselves a "metalhead," he has to at least have heard of those two bands but more also).
    July 29 03:34 AM
  • mkamrass First of all, thanks for recognizing my 1000 ratings, I definitely like that I finally got to that level. I will say now, that I have been listening to not quite as much music as I did before the 1000 ratings mark, but I still listen to some new albums as you see. With the majority of the new ratings that you see of bands I have listened too, I have known about them before for the longest time, I just have not got around to listening to a whole album by the certain bands until recently.
    July 29 03:26 AM
  • mkamrass I will have to check out Perfecitizen then.
    June 19 10:53 PM
  • mkamrass Another suggestion with adding albums, also make sure that the picture of the album cover is a .jpg format: this site only takes .jpg format photos. If you are doing everything else right, it should work but maybe you are using the wrong photo format, I'm not sure what else. Hope this helps more. :)
    June 19 10:51 PM
  • mkamrass So definitely with the soundoffs problem as you probably found out yourself, the soundoffs will only show up if they are for an album that is already in existence on this site and if the album does not exist, the soundoff will not show up. Next, as you found out also, before you can even add an album on this site to a band, the band has to have a profile first.
    June 19 10:46 PM
  • mkamrass From my recent experience 5 minutes ago, I just uploaded an album myself and I had no problem, so I'm still not sure what your problem is with that.
    June 19 02:57 AM
  • mkamrass I have just been curious to hear what the song sounds like for the original composer (Mussorgsky as you know) and what some of his other material sounds like that he composed.
    June 19 02:41 AM
  • mkamrass I honestly cannot think of any other reasons for your problems, well actually with the album submissions, those can on rare occasions take a long time to upload but that should not happen a lot. And with classical music, that was one of the first genres I heard and loved, I just have not got around to rating any classical albums until now. By the way, I love Emerson, Lake,
    June 19 02:39 AM
  • mkamrass For the albums problem, that has happen to me occasionally in the past where I fill out everything and submit but nothing happens (I am not sure why that happens actually). The more important question for me to ask is have you had at least one album submission succeed or have all of them been failures? With the soundoffs problems, the only reason I can think of them not showing up is they are too short but typically if they are too short, it will tell you. Could that be you problem?

  • mkamrass A little note about the two Resident Evil soundtracks, if you want to rate them on here, you will find them by typing "soundtrack" in the search box or you can just look in my ratings for them.Last question, what types of music are typically played on commercial radio stations in Slovakia or what would you say is the type of music a lot of people most predominately like in Slovakia.
    June 14 09:04 PM
  • mkamrass Now you mentioned that you have heard Godflesh and Fear Factory, I would imagine that you have heard or heard of Strapping Young Lad? I love the band. Now for soundtracks, I could definitely give you some really good recommendations to start with. For soundtracks, I will give you four recommendations right now, try "28 Days Later" by John Murphy, "Requiem for a Dream" by Clint Mansell
    June 14 08:59 PM
  • mkamrass For all the bands you mentioned, I have heard of virtually everyone and heard some material by certain ones but all of which are very good industrial bands as far as I know and have heard. You have good industrial music tastes! I most definitely agree that industrial music has been a massive influence other genres as much as people really do not pay that much attention to the forms of music (very overlooked genre if I must say).
    June 14 08:45 PM
  • mkamrass By hearing all their material, they have so much more talent then people think and as much as "Du Hast" is a classic, there are a ton of other classics. Now if you are wondering what Rammstein means (I assume), they got the name from an airport in Germany where an air disaster happened, which they also have a song about the incident also called "Rammstein." The actual name of the airport is spelled like "Ramstein."
    June 14 08:39 PM
  • mkamrass As much as Rammstein may seem way to commercial, they deserve it for the most part, especially if you have heard a lot of their music. The only reason why they became really commercial in the first place is because most people have only heard one song by them which is "Du Hast" and now makes the band look like a one-hit wonder band with that one song on the radio. I will admit Rammstein is basically the my favorite band and I have heard virtually every song by them (released and unreleased).
    June 14 08:31 PM
  • mkamrass My favorite two genres that I find myself listening to a lot are soundtracks (movies, video games, TV shows, etc.) and virtually any type of industrial metal (my favorite types/fusions of industrial metal are Neue Deutsche Harte and industrial black metal). Neue Deutsche Harte is basically German industrial metal if you have not heard of it and the most popular band from the genre is Rammstein but there are a lot more bands in the genre.

  • mkamrass Ok, Cool! And yes, Slovakia is extremely far away. I have always wanted to visit Europe, but I am not sure when I will; it is a dream that has not come true yet. Also, in Colorado, you are correct, it has amazingly beautiful nature and I love being outside (hiking, running, etc.).To help you know more about my musical interests for giving you recommendations, I listen to anything and everything and I like definitely a little bit from of a good amount of genres.
    June 11 10:38 PM
  • mkamrass My real name is Matt and I live in Colorado in the U.S.

  • mkamrass Hey SkapalPes, I appreciate your interest in my ratings and I would love to give you recs if want them. Just out of curiosity, how did you find out about my profile? :) Lastly, since you are new to Sputnik, if you have any questions, just ask away; I would love to stay in touch. Greetings from mkamrass. ;)
