  • Judio! Good to hear! I've been doing well myself, busy as always but overall I'm fine. Haven't listened to all that much new music lately, as I've been focusing more on making music for my solo project.

  • Judio! Glad you liked it! I think I'm already sick of waiting for the new Silver Mt Zion to come out. Where did you torrent the album?
    January 6 04:17 PM
  • Judio! Damn, I'm really excited to hear it now!
    January 6 02:11 AM
  • Judio! Ah, I'll just wait until it comes out then. Just the anticipation of waiting this whole time will make the album even better when I finally do listen to it!
    January 6 01:23 AM
  • Judio! New Silver Mt Zion hasn't been released yet, though...where'd you find the album?
    January 5 11:59 PM
  • zakalwe It's an album that throws up a mixture of all sorts dude. Soul, rock, jazz, gospel and is a thrilling listen without a set atmospheric tone. Glad you liked the opener, it's one of my all time greats.
    January 5 03:42 PM
  • Judio! Damn, looks like I'm now officially the last one on Sput that thinks Skinny Fists is overrated lol. And I haven't checked out Silver Mount Zion's new alum but yeah I heard its supposed to be good. Still, you really should give a listen to He Has Left Us Alone as well.
    January 5 02:51 PM
  • demigod! digging your current list series, man. good way to get debate going. may i suggest The Dillinger Escape Plan or Sigur Ros for your next?
    January 5 03:34 AM
  • Judio! That's true. Storm and Sleep are two of my favorite Godspeed songs, but I've never really been able to get into Antennas to Heaven very much and Static just kind of annoys me.
    January 5 03:26 AM
  • Judio! I don't have it in me to complain about "Providence." It's a weird-ass song, but it's just so wonderful in my opinion. If I had to complain about F#A#, id complain that the slow, trance-like part at the beginning of "East Hastings" goes on too still. Besides that, it's just a perfect album to me. Slow Riot is perfect as well, but I think it's just a tad too short to be as effective as F#A#. Still, BBF3 is probably the greatest song ever made, so I don't know why I'm complaining lol.
    January 4 02:59 PM
  • Judio! Hmm...I will need to relisten to Traced then. I didn't think Traced was bad in any way, but it just didn't "wow" me like Focus did. And I'll be looking forward to that Godspeed battle. My vote definitely goes to F#A#inifinity with Slow Riot being a close second. Although I do like Skinny Fists, I actually like Allelujah! slightly better.
    January 4 05:20 AM
  • Judio! And by the way, if you done them haven't already, a GY!BE "album battle" list would be cool.
    January 4 02:30 AM
  • Judio! Yeah man, Veil of May probably is the best song ever. Tell me, what do you like so much about Traced In Air?
    January 4 02:29 AM
  • CK Your next album battle should be Death's final 4 albums
    January 3 11:24 PM
  • Judio! Relistens do wonders lol. I haven't 5'd either album, although I may 5 Focus some day. I like Traced, but at this point not nearly as much as Focus.
    January 3 11:03 PM
  • Judio! lol damn! What changed your mind so quickly?
    January 3 09:11 PM
  • Judio! Ah, I see you've checked ou Cynic. One of my favorite death metal bands for sure. You like them?
    January 3 06:59 PM
  • zakalwe Lol prog on bro!!
    January 1 06:56 PM
  • zakalwe I have recently started to look into Opeth having only really heard bits here and there. I do have a physical copy of Still life which I have to say is amazing. I will check out your recs and while I'm at it I'll give tool another go!
    January 1 06:49 PM
  • zakalwe Great Pinkerton sound off dude, I am with you all the way except Tool I've never 'understood' them. Have you heard Spiritualized - ladies and Gentleman We Are Floating In Space. I think you'll like it mate.
    January 1 04:23 PM
  • Judio! Very true! I'm glad we had this discussion. Not sure when I'll get the opportunity to listen to what you rec'd, but when I do listen I'll be sure to let you know what I think.
    December 28 01:42 AM
  • Judio! Will do. I'm always striving to widen my musical taste, so I'll give this genre a try. Thanks for the recs!
    December 27 10:16 PM
  • Judio! Can't say I've ever listened to post-hardcore in my life. Where's a good place to start?
    December 27 07:58 PM
  • Electric City Thanks dude! Feels is my personal favorite, and a fine starting point. Many people might tell you Merriweather because it's their most "accessible" but I find with Animal Collective, it's not a good idea to start at their most accessible and work backwards, as much of their work is out there. Start with Feels, Strawberry Jam, or Sung Tongs.
    December 27 07:49 PM
  • Judio! You need to check them out! Listen to their debut, He Has Left Us Alone. That album is on par with the best Godspeed releases in my opinion.
    December 27 06:28 PM
  • Judio! Couldn't agree more. On another note, have you ever listened to Silver Mt. Zion? I just started listening to them, and I love them already.
    December 27 06:10 PM
  • Judio! Agreed with you on Slow Riot. BBF3 may possibly be my favorite song of all time, or at least my favorite Godspeed song.
    December 27 05:37 PM
  • Judio! I can agree on that! They are easily one of my favorite bands, and F#A#(infinity) may very well be one of my absolute favorite albums I've ever listened to.
    December 27 01:41 AM
  • Judio! I could certainly see why someone would love it, but it's just not for me. To me, what Skinny Fists attempts to achieve is practically the same as Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada, but without Slow Riot's precision and focus. Still, I stand by Sleep and Storm being two of the greatest post-rock songs of all time.
    December 26 10:02 PM
  • Judio! Actually it's not, Lift Yr. Skinny Fists should be a 4 not a 3. Yanqui is my least favorite Godspeed. But yeah, I still Lift Yr. Skinny Fists is overrated. While it can be very beautiful, parts of it just feel too overlong and bloated.
    December 26 06:57 PM
  • Veldin p.s. I was joking too. No such Thom or Bob figure exists
    December 26 07:16 AM
  • Veldin I have yet to listen to it, but I'm anticipating doing so. I only recently started listening to Dylan, surprisingly. Bringing It All Back Home is my favorite thus far.
    December 26 03:19 AM
  • Veldin We sold out of that one, but I can get you a Bob Dylan figure with detachable black sunglasses. Batteries sold separately.
    December 24 05:14 AM
  • itchybutthole Os meus 5´s na realidade nao tem nada a haver com perfeiçao,mas sim sao os albuns que me dao mais prazer a ouvir,e sim eu entendo eu que o que tas a dizer.peace :)
    December 23 12:00 PM
  • itchybutthole im pretty sure you dont think all those albuns are 5/5 but i got nothing to do with that, and if they are im jelly cuz im always looking for that 5/5 perfect album wish i rarely find
    December 22 09:05 PM
  • itchybutthole dude no offense but your ratings are little ridiculous but hey you didnt 5 any 1D so youre good.anyway thanks for taking the time to go through my ratings its actually very flattering.btw the 1D album sucks ,that was just a little social experiment i was conducting, and you passed cuz you respect my opinion so congrats man.merry christmas and a happy new year.xoxoitchy butthole

  • avonbarksdale221 It all comes down to personal opinion. Agaetis is the most otherworldly of the trio, it borders on spiritual in parts. It strikes the best balance between the mystical, the uplifting, and intensity of Sigur Ros' sound. Takk, on the other hand, is definitely the most accessible and is exceptionally euphoric. Just jam them all man and make up your own mind.
    November 26 06:41 AM
  • avonbarksdale221 Glorious record. Fair warning: I'd argue that Agaetis Byrjun and Takk are as good as (), if not even better.
    November 25 06:28 AM
  • avonbarksdale221 Absolute bliss, few hands transcend like SR. Poppaglio is one of the greates closers of all time, I've never heard a climax that intense.
    November 24 12:20 AM
  • avonbarksdale221 Agreed so hard man, one of very few bands that can match Radiohead for emotion. Their music really takes you on a journey, which isn't something you can say about a lot of artists
    November 22 11:27 PM
  • avonbarksdale221 There is just something special about Radiohead, you know? Their music resonates with me like no other band I've heard. Agreed about those three being the holy trinity, I'd say tht K Computer is my favourite because it was my first, although Thom would probably tell me not to get sentimental ;] I think that Kid A is the best from an artistic standpoint though.
    November 22 11:25 PM
  • avonbarksdale221 No worries man! Thom Yorke is a god, agreed. They are probably my favourite band, whats your fave album by them? Here's a link to the most accessible (and arguably best) Sigur Ros song, hope you enjoy. Pro tip: watch the video, its amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAqJ0R-EkZg
    November 21 05:41 AM
  • avonbarksdale221 You have sweet taste in tunes man, welcome to the site! If you haven't already, you should listen to Agaetis Byrjun and Takk by Sigur Ros, both are brilliant albums that I think you'd dig based on your ratings.
