Review Summary: I'M FILLED WITH ANGST
Radiohead just speaks to the soul you know? I am currently sitting in my dorm room slurping my Venti Caramel Frappaccino from Starbucks and reading Karl Marx while listening to this amazing work of art. There's just something about the way Radiohead just conveniently understands me with each album release. Almost as if I was conveniently twisting Radiohead's releases to suit my own political/philosophical agenda. That can't be though, because I am in College so I am already smart enough to point out real symbolism. Radiohead's symbolism is so hard to see yet so easy if you try hard enough.
As a transatlantic, dino-sexual, toaster, my totally rational need to feel special for no reason crowds my every form of being. Radiohead reminds me of how special I am through the symbolism in their lyrics. Take this for example, from
Daydreaming:
"Dreamers
They never learn
They never learn
Beyond the point
Of no return
Of no return"
Here, they are clearly saying how dreamers never learn the lies told to us by evil Republicans who are out to marginalize all minorities with their hate speech, because we are busy dreaming of the future. Therefore, Radiohead is telling us to never stop dreaming and to never bow down to oppression. It means a lot to me because it reinforces how I definitely didn't waste my college scholarships and parents money on my Major in Gender Studies!
Radiohead is all about symbolism, about us seeing the secrets and dissecting the codes, because they remind us how everything political/philosophical matters all the time! Never should we ever just enjoy life because there are way too many bad things to point out on Tumblr. A Moon Shaped Pool understands the truth within us all. They are changing the way music is being seen and heard. Radiohead is the greatest band of all time that could never possibly be bad because true art is never bad!
