Review Summary: Listen to River or die It’s rare when a song explodes my face the first time I hear it (non-metal of course). I was sitting at my desk pretending to work today, lamenting how since I stopped Sputting hard I have probably missed an abundance of tasty new jams over the past two years, when I saw a review with old school SputGod Observer/Ponton absolutely gizzing over There Will Be Fireworks. So I figured what the hell and gave it a shot. The first track was decent and reminded me of Frightened Rabbit’s quieter stuff and was like ok this is probably going to be boring. Then I came to “River.” Holy f*ck, “River.” I mean, Holy Chirst, this is a pants-sh*ttingly awesome song. It’s kind of like if Frightened Rabbit and Explosions in the Sky and The Edge had a gangbang and decided to pump out the most enthralling song imaginable. I mean, this song f*cking SOARS. I know that’s kind of a limp term but I really can’t think of a better description. Anyway, the rest of the album is split up by folksy, indie-ish acoustic numbers that are alright and 3 or 4 more post-rocky soaring anthem jams. Aside from “River,” which is currently like the best song ever, jams like “So Stay Close,” “Here is Where,” “South Street,” and “Elder and Oak” have that quality that really pretentious people will liken to some quivering, life-altering experience, but really they are just really damn good songs. The rest is pretty good too. I guess what I’m saying is unless you hate indie, you should jam this now.

You forgot to mention how much sput credibility you get by sneering at people who like this and
repeating the fact that The Midnight Organ Fight is a modern classic until you're blue in the face
