Psyclon Nine And Then Oblivion
From the hip-hop beats to the guitars, it all feels more like a collage than a continuous image. The aggrotech flavors sound single-layered, and surprisingly flat; this from someone who might be the most tolerant user of inane, mindlessly repetitious electronic loops in all of Sputnikdom. Nero did harsh-EBM way better on the old albums; its like he forgot how its done. Still, it might grow on me

Destruction Birth of Malice
It's noticeable that Schmier is no longer the dominant music writer. No Kings - No Masters is one of my favorite tracks from the band since their classic days, and screams Schmier, but the guitarist, Damir Eskic, is evidently contributing a lot of material, especially in the latter half of the record, where the quality improves a little. E.g. the excellent "Dealer of Death" only sounds like Destruction because of Schmier's vocals; the guitars feel (almost) foreign to the band's older sound. And the riffs, and especially the solo, in "Evil Never Sleeps" is bluesy and progressive and strikes me as unlike the kind of solo Sifringer usually wrote

Municipal Waste Slime And Punishment
Some good riffs on this. Reminds me of a harder Bad Religion. Anyone who happens upon this shout-out should read (former?) user KILL's comments on Municipal Waste in his review of D.R.I.'s Dealing with it. I don't agree with his opinion on Municipal Waste, but it's exactly the kind of old-school-Sputnik writing that drew me to the site 7 years ago; it's attitude, style and content crystalize the essence of hardcore and thrash, and it should be included in any historical anthology of great Sputnik reviews in my opinion. A perfect review. My own style is too snobbish to write about this kind of music properly; KILL did it right: https://www.spu

Suicidal Tendencies How Will I Laugh Tomorrow If I Can't Even Smile Today?
Great music, but they took a decidedly slower turn on this record. Not what I wanted at the time, so I didn't give it the time is deserves until the streaming age. First rate, just doesn't compare in terms of power to the previous two

  • Dewinged Hey friend. No rule about editing your own reviews. I have a few I truly hate myself but I don't dwell too much on it. I don't think you should bother either but I'll leave that to you!

  • XyphDryne Why would it be dark to visit a church? Sure, when thinking about the poor devils who had to build it or what the church represents..well. But one cannot deny the architectural achievements. So I really love to view churches. Recently, we even had a 90 minutes tour in just one and learned a lot.About Discord: I am sorry, I do not use it at all ¯\_(?)_/¯
