|2016 Bottom 10|
|10||Fatima Al Qadiri|
Hyperdub continues to embarrass itself in 2016, and this release is particularly worthless. For some reason Fatima Al Qadiri has decided the world needs a dance concept album about police brutality, the result is not only as stupid as it sounds, but also awfully produced. Incompetent on every level.
Getting something so boring out of OPN is pretty impressive honestly, the politics here are particularly obnoxious, meaningless and ineloquent. It's like someone decided they wanted Band Aid covers to be a serious art form.
Zomby is by far the worst musician on Hyperdub, and possibly the worst human being too. When he's not stealing songs from aspiring producers or getting into twitter arguments, it seems he also likes to convince good artists like Burial to create absolute aimless wanky dreck with him.
|7|| ||Tinchy Stryder|
Allow him 100%, this guy is the definition of sellout and yet for some reason he is complaining about people being """fake""" on this song.
|6||Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith|
Sandwiched inbetween Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith's fantastic Euclid and her fantastic collaboration, Sunergy, is Ears. A boring deflated pudding of an album filled with genericisms and mediocre noodling.
|5|| ||Danny L Harle|
Super Natural Remixes
This song doesn't need drops, it doesn't need slow piano over the top, it doesn't need claps over the top. I doubt anyone apart from 'DJ Zinc' and 'Dave Winnel' will ever play these shoddy remixes in a set.
|4|| ||DJ Paypal|
Not sure how they managed to make this so utterly boring, it's just template footwork with some very uninteresting bloops and bleeps over the top.
|3|| ||Iggy Azalea|
Soulless trap pop, a shame since her first album was decent.
|2|| ||The Avalanches|
Why did they make this? Why did they make it the lead single of their album? Why did they put Danny Brown and MF Doom on this track? Why did they mix their vocals inaudibly low?
|1|| ||Meghan Trainor|
The most uninspiring pop artist of this generation's worst song yet, I don't understand how such irredeemable shit got so popular.
