Get Your Wings
Aerosmith's hardest album in my opinion is always my favourite of their's to listen to.
Yes, they've got Rocks and Toys in the Attic, but GYW just has this bluesy charm to it

Hunky Dory
David Bowie's most poetic album in my humble opinion. "Life On Mars?" is easily in my
top 5 songs of all time and the album doesn't have one bad track (even Eight Line
Poem is nice). Everything Bowie put out in the 70s was amazing (save Pinups A.K.A.
the dreaded cover album) but Hunky Dory, from the songs, to the classic album cover

Scary Monsters
The last classic Bowie album. Not the last good one. I enjoyed "Let's Dance", "Heathen"
and his newest album "The Next Day", among his others between 1980 and now, but
"Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)" is flawless all the way through for me. Every song is
a must listen, especially "Teenage Wildlife" which is tied for my favourite Bowie song aside
the aforementioned "Life on Mars?". An amazing wrap-up of Bowie's decade long reign. | | 4 |  | Emerson, Lake and Palmer
Tarkus
The epic title track alone is good enough to like the entire album. "Tarkus" is probably my
favourite of the 70's side-long prog songs, or at least one of them. | | 5 |  | Genesis
Foxtrot
Genesis's best album for me, filled with much the British charm they are known for. The intro
to "Watcher of the Skies" is beautiful and the epic side long "Supper's Ready" is the perfect
way to end the album. I love every one of the 70's Genesis albums, but this one has my

Are You Experienced?
One of the best rock debut albums ever. A fantastic start for hard rock. Hendrix came out
with a bang and died with a bang and this album alone proves his greatness. (This regards

In the Court of the Crimson King
The start of prog rock in many listener's opinions. "Epitaph" can make any man cry and
the title track and "21st Century Schizoid Man" are nothing short of classics. This album
helps back up that Robert Fripp is one of the best rock guitarists. | | 8 |  | King Crimson
Red
The end of King Crimson's 70's albums happens to be their best alongside the
aforementioned "ITCOTCK". "Red" is one hell of an instrumental and "Starless" is
ambient/jazz/prog rock at its finest. | | 9 |  | Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin
The hardest album of its time. Introduced the greatest hard rock band that have ever
roamed the Earth. Every song is a classic and kicks ass. Although many of the songs are
reworked versions of older blues songs, Zeppelin showed that they can make anything

Led Zeppelin II
This album carried on the vibe of "I" with more original compositions than it's predecessor.
Another hard rocking classic. "The Lemon Song" will always be one of my favourite Zeppelin
songs. Yes, it also has reworked blues songs, but Zeppelin were always able to make them

Houses of the Holy
Zeppelin's most varied album, in my opinion and the album of their's with the best
cover art. "HotH" was their first album to feature all original compositions. From the
fake reggae "D'yer Mak'er", to the wonderful "Over the Hills and Far Away", to the prog
rock "No Quarter", to the beautiful "The Rain Song", this was Zeppelin at their most

Everybody Knows This is Nowhere
A classic Canadian album that makes me very proud. "Cowgirl in the Sand" is one of my
top 3 Neil Young songs and seeing Neil perform "Cinnamon Girl" live in 2012 sounding as
good as it did in '69, adds more nostalgia to the album. | | 13 |  | Neil Young
On the Beach
Neil Young's most underrated of his classic albums. The title track is quite moody and very
fantastic and I love how three of the tracks end with "Blues". A very consistent album with

Ten
One of the best 90s debut albums (probably with "Definitely Maybe" and "Grace"). "Ten"
had many stadium songs and the band has reflected on it saying it was "over-produced",
but I'll forever think it's their magnum opus. "Porch" is an underrated rocker. | | 15 |  | Queen
Sheer Heart Attack
Though the second side drags in comparison, the first 6 tracks and "Stone Cold Crazy"
are some of the best Queen songs ever. "Brighton Rock" features Brian May at his
hardest and best. A very nice British album. Everything Queen did from 1973 to 1977
was classic in my eyes, but "Sheer Heart Attack" has my favourite of Queen's songs. | | 16 |  | Radiohead
The Bends
The best britpop album of the 90s for me. Every song is amazing. Has many of their classics.
"Fake Plastic Trees" is lovely, "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" is hopeless, "My Iron Lung" is rocking
and "Just" is intense. Huge step up from "Pablo Honey". | | 17 |  | Radiohead
OK Computer
Where "The Bends" was amazing, "OK Computer" was masterful. This album showed that
Radiohead was better then just a brit rock band. They were artists. True artists. Every track
flows nicely into the other and this album helped define 90s music. I won't even bother
naming individual tracks, because they are all great. | | 18 |  | The Rolling Stones
Sticky Fingers
One of the best "dirty" rock 'n' roll albums. A great return after the loss of Brian Jones.
"Can't You Hear Me Knocking" is one of the Stone's best jam songs. Also has classics
"Brown Sugar", "Bitch" and the lovely "Moonlight Mile" and "Wild Horses". | | 19 |  | Television
Marquee Moon
Television didn't need to make anymore albums after this. They did (very few), but they
didn't have to. This unique blend of musicianship is just so addicting to listen to. I've listened
to the title track, Elevation and the rest of the album so many times and I can't get enough.
One of the best albums of the late 70s. | | 20 |  | Yes
Close to the Edge
"The Yes Album" and "Fragile" may have more tracks than "Close to the Edge", but CttE had their
first side long epic and also their greatest song. | |

03.25.13 | Thanks for enjoying the list, everyone. My Bowie collection is now at 18 CDs and 3 records and all I can say is no artist that I love has as good of a discography than him (still saving The Beatles for another time and Zeppelin has too few of albums). These artists aren't the only ones I enjoy, but it's hard to narrow down to 20 albums. I'd also add some Dylan, Black Crowes, Rush, Pantera, Oasis, Megadeth and lots of others, but it's a short list. | WailinTim31
