Skweetis
09.01.12 | Primus sounds like The Residents, and Slint tried to be Big Black on their first album. |
ChuckyTruant
09.01.12 | 7 sounds like POD and Sevendust |

09.01.12 | You're right about Tweez. I guess I only think about the band they were on Spiderland when I think of Slint. And I've never heard of the residents I'll have to look them up if they sound anything like Primus. Silver lining about making a list that everyone shits on. At least I might learn about a few bands that sound like these ones |

09.01.12 | Fuck off skindred sounds like POD or sevendust. While you might be able to throw them under the nu metal tag their ragga metal sound is something I've never heard before. They aren't necessarily a great band by the way their last two albums sucked |
ChuckyTruant
09.01.12 | haha no man, I like all 3 bands but they all sound vaguely similar |

09.01.12 | I didn't put MBV cos of the millions of shoegaze bands that copied them after Loveless came out. And putting Sonic Youth on this list is probs a bit of a stretch but I just think the interplay of the two guitars as well as their use of weird timbres is just such a distinctive sound |

09.01.12 | PS. Seeing MBV in february for All Tomorrows Parties. Wet dream come true |

There were albums that sound like that before 'Loveless', too. Listen to Ride's 'Nowhere' to see what I mean.
Also, 'ITAOTS' has certainly got a unique sound, but there are a few bands that play music in a similar vein...mostly from the Elephant 6 Collective. |

09.01.12 | ^^I just looked up Nowhere cos I was totally gonna cyber scream in your cyber face about it coming out before Loveless but you're absolutely right. I really thought that album was the very first shoegaze album ever made. My world is shattered. Who wants my All Tomorrows Parties ticket? |
