| Nine Inch Nails Retrospective
Nine Inch Nails is hands down my favorite band/musical project and
after hours of debating and listening to all of the major NIN releases, I
decided that they needed to be put in their place, so to speak. | | 7 | | Nine Inch Nails Ghosts
Perfect NIN album to fall asleep to or to study to. Other than that Trent was
just showing off. | | 6 | | Nine Inch Nails Year Zero
Almost four years into having this record and i still dont automatically grab for
it when i am in the mood for NIN like i do the rest of his discography.
Highlights: God Given, The Good Soldier, Survivalism | | 5 | | Nine Inch Nails The Slip
You know, for a record that a lot of people got for FREE people sure do a lot of
trash talking for a solidly decent record. Sure the three instrumentals might be
a touch overkill and yes Echoplex might be his worst song ever but look it's
NIN, it was most likely free to you and it's still better than 98.5% of the shit
out on the radio today. Highlights: Letting You, Head Down, 1,000,000, Lights
In The Sky, Discipline | | 4 | | Nine Inch Nails With Teeth
People like to bitch and moan about this record being the moment that TR sold
his soul to the industry devils. I disagree; just because 95% of the record had
a glossy pop sheen to it does not mean it doen't contain some of TR's most
righteously gloriously furiously musical moments of his career. Highlights: You
Know What You Are, Getting Smaller, Right Where You Belong, The Collector,
Everyday Is Exactly The Same | | 3 | | Nine Inch Nails Pretty Hate Machine
An astonishing debut from an incredible talent. Highly influential to the
resurgence of the industrial scene and most improbably highly catchy too.
Highlights: Sin, The Only Time, Head Like A Hole, Something I Can Never
Have, Ringfinger | | 2 | | Nine Inch Nails The Fragile
All right, i tend to think that this double album sometimes depending on my
moods runs a bit long, but conceptually and musically The Fragile is spot on
capturing recurring themes of bitterness, betrayal, fear and ultimately hope. A
beautiful record. Highlights: The Great Below, Somewhat Damaged, La Mer,
Starfuckers, INC, I'm Looking Forward To Joining You, Finally, Please | | 1 | | Nine Inch Nails The Downward Spiral
Never have I ever had such a physical, spiritual and emotional reaction to a
record. Trent manages to perfectly capture the emotions of someone at the
end of their goddam rope and who hasn't felt that way every once in a while?
Highlights: Heresy, I Do Not Want This, Hurt, Eraser, Reptile, Closer, Big Man
With A Gun, Mr. Self Destruct | |

03.15.12 | "for a record that a lot of people got for FREE people sure do a lot of trash talking"
Free doesn't make his least enjoyable album better to me and he's gotten more than enough of my money to make up for it.
I love-like everything else he's done. | geng
