Recent Discoveries

A List of some recent discoveries, or re-discoveries for me. Spent some time searching through websites "best of" or "recent discovery" list's and found some gems.
1 Spero
City of Tears

Not sure how I never heard of, or about this band before now. Think Dead Poetic (New medicines) combined with Foo Fighters/Rise Against. As soon as I heard the opening track I was hooked.
2Vanisher
The History of Saints

Gave this band a chance because they sport the guitarist from Bloodjinn, Melodic Death/Metal/Core if I had to pin them to a genre, but they transcend most of those labels throughout the album. Wouldn't say they'll be a favorite of mine, but their definately worth a listen for fans of metal infused with melody.
3Dead & Divine
Antimacy

Loved this bands first album, couldn't stand the 2nd one, so naturally I didn't bother with the 3rd album right away. Read a review that made me check it out just to be sure, and I was pretty impressed. The 'cheese ball' ish from their 2nd album is nowhere to be found or heard on Antimacy, glad I gave this band a 2nd chance.
4 Dream On, Dreamer
Hope EP

For fans of bands like Inhale Exhale, or Oh Sleeper. They arent the best @ what they do, but their definately pretty good at it, it's hard to find bands that have any originality in this genre, hearing this EP led me on to their newest full length.
5Dream On, Dreamer
Heartbound

definately a leap beyond the EP, glad I added this to my collection. They won't ever be my favorite, but its nice to have more options to chose from musically.
6 Regain the Legacy
When Rain Becomes Ashes

Love the production style of this album, it captures the older albums that first turned me on to heavy music. Its not a classic, but it's definately a solid listen. Don't know if it'll stay in my rotation long, but then again you never know.
7 Above This
717

for fans of misery signals, 7 angels 7 plagues, and bands along those lines. their not on 7 Angels or Misery Signals level, but a solid album none the less, although the vocals do tend to become a bit monotonous after awhile.
