02.09.24 | I don’t mind the drum machine on Ram It Down. I find lots of drum machine sounds super charming. That one is brought down by some poor songwriting, especially in the last few songs. It’s a shame too cuz a lot of the remastered albums came with bonus tracks that were outtakes from the RID sessions and they are better than most tracks on the actual album (Fire Burns Below, Thunder Road).
As I get older though I’ve come to listen to their 80s stuff more often. Screaming fir Vengeance might be my favourite album by them at this point, even if their 70s output was more creative and still very entertaining | Sevengill
