| Slow Drums, Fast Everything Else
One of my favorite things in music is a verse/chorus/whatever where the drums play relatively slow, maybe playing a half time groove, and the guitar/vocals/whatever else are still super busy and fast. There's probably a more technical music term for this. Here are some examples where this happens. Can anyone rec me more songs that do this? | 1 | | He Is Legend 91025
"Either They Decorated for Christmas Early or They're All Dead" -- The intro. Fast palm-muted guitar, rest of band in a half-time groove. | 2 | | The Receiving End of Sirens Between the Heart and the Synapse
"This Armistice" — the "We're all puppets, we're all marionettes" bit. Slow drums, rapid-fire guitar. | 3 | | Dance Gavin Dance Instant Gratification
The chorus (1:32). A bit cheating since the drums aren't super slow, but still less busy than the fast vocals and lead guitar | |
