I dunno, I think 4 and 6 are lightyears better, plus Betsy Palmer is far more terrifying than anything in 2.

Has plenty of great references to the original series, has lots of great kills, and story-wise its amalgam of the first three films makes it thoroughly enjoyable for plot alone, whereas the originals had to stand solely on kills for entertainment. |

Robert. Fucking. Englund. Also just seeing those two collide in one movie was INFINITELY more entertaining imo. Also, props for them for actually finding an interesting reason for them fighting. Freddy vs Jason gets a lot of shit, but I love that movie and will always defend it.
@neek - Disagreed hard on 4, man. That has some of the most badass Jason moments in the entire franchise, plus Savini + Jason for the first time ever.

@Yep - Damn, I mean I guess different strokes for different folks but I found like a million more kills/one liners/etc that were infinitely more enjoyable in all three of those movies than in Jason Goes To Hell.
@deathschool - Fuck yeah dude m/ I would totally get why that would be someone's favorite. And yeah, this isn't my favorite series - Nightmare will always be my #1 and I'm a sucker for Halloween as well, but this is still a way more enjoyable series than I initially gave it credit for.
@Gallanton - Agreed hard man, I never understood why a Friday fan would not enjoy the remake. It has Jason at every stage, the kills are fucking awesome and I thought it was actually scarier than the majority of the series. It's a mystery to me why more fans don't love the remake. |

and yes there is a citizen cane of slasher and it is HAlloween

weird thing to say neeka.. i really enjoyed the new halloween (except for the third act) but most of the characters in it were pretty trivial. as far as i'm concerned, halloween og is flawless |

@neek - The new Halloween movie is half really fucking good, but the subplots are some of the worst I've seen in any horror movie and there are some missteps which really bother me. The OG is a horror classic - the stalking scenes in the beginning are haunting, every single Laurie vs Michael frame is straight up classic, and tbh the characters are fine for slasher fodder. Laurie is a motherfucking bosssssss. Plus the music and cinematography are just unebeatable in that movie.
Also your list fucking rules, man. Much more thorough than my explanations aha although I obviously disagree with some of it.
Basically, yeah the original Halloween is the Citizen Kane of horror flicks.
@wham - Agreed, they're all incredibly watchable. I probably should have put 2 above 3 now that I'm looking at it, but it's still not my favorite.
