This album has been getting some hate because its not as fast or complex as its predecessor Endgame. I
personally enjoy the slower, more melodic side of Megadeth and consider this an excellent album.

Cryptic Writings

I'm not sure why, but I have a soft spot for this album. Cryptic Writings was the softest album Megadeth had
done at this point. Yet, there's not much here I don't enjoy.

United Abominations

For some reason I just can't get into this album. I just don't like the overall sound of the record. Of course
the songs are well written, but it just doesn't sound like a Megadeth album to me. I'm particularly discouraged
by the guitar tone. I blame Glen Drover.

I give this album slightly more credit than most Megadeth fans do. Sure, it's not heavy or fast at all. This
album isn't even metal. Yet, when you listen with an open mind, you'll hear that the music is very well written

The World Needs a Hero

I consider this album to be incredibly uninspired. You can hear that Dave is trying to get Megadeth back on
track, but only gets halfway there. There are a few gems but the album as a whole is weak.
