My roommate who had never played guitar or bass before has learned a few songs on the bass within a month on the hardest difficulty. My chops were always pretty weak, but I've just finished learning Satch Boogie and can play it pretty well.

JustinKing 12.11.13	Never was interested in it. I hate covering songs, and I just like to force myself to sit down and practice my own stuff. I'm not saying it makes you "less" of a good player, as undoubtedly it makes you better, but I just much prefer to find my own new riffs and melodies as I practice. But this is coming from a self-taught guitarist who's just always disliked performing any covers.
jdennis31 12.11.13	I've always been an original guy as well, but have neglected honing my technical skills. This is a fun way to do that.
jdennis31 12.11.13	session mode is amazingly fun as well. Band plays along to your tempo so you can just adlib whatever you want without having to switch between jam tracks.

I found it boring to play just my own stuff, plus doing covers can help with your originality/technique/ear/general range of skill. Anyways, I played it once, I did not enjoy it much. But, my friend who bought it really did improve in 30 days, I was impressed by that

jdennis31 12.12.13	game works great, cept that you can let notes ring sometimes and it'll count it, like during tremolo parts, but everything else is pretty accurate. @launcha and chuck you can dl the game for pc and all the dlc content for free through torrents and then just buy the cable. I originally bought it for xbox but there are some latency issues unless you get the direct output headphones. PC works great with no latency issues. there are also custom dlc out there that people made for bands that didn't want to be part of rocksmith. most of the custom dlc are big bands though, like metallica.
