Obscure and/or underrated black/death metal albums (pt 1)
A list (in no particular order) of a couple of overlooked and/or runderrated black/death metal ralbums that you need to hear but rprobably haven't even heard of unless you're awesome, tr00 rand runderground. One album per band, no matter how many great rreleases a certain band rhas! They'll end up on another list in the rfuture!
I had a really hard time deciding whether I should have picked this one or
Soulblight (damn one album per band rule!) but I finally settled for this one.
Expect Soulblight to find its way onto the next list!
Overlooked tech death from Switzerland! Since this one was released like
two months ago so perhaps it'll receive the recognition it deserves in time
but as it looks now these guys remains very uncredited. Support the band,
check this out!
I would have placed "Nord" here if it wasn't for the fact that it kind of
overshades this one (but if you haven't checked "Nord" out, do it!!) and
Endtime Divine is equally as good in my opinion but strangely doesn't get
as much credit. Setherial is overall ridiculously overlooked!
nquisition is overall very underrated and made some great albums in the
past that I can't include in this list (one album by a certain band per list!)
and this one is probably their best effort so far. Great to see some
awesome fresh releases! Abbath like vocals are creepy and grvm.
I was kind of second guessing myself when I thought about picking this
album. I mean, it's not really THAT much of a hidden gem, is it? Most people
know about this, don't they? Well, for those of you who don't know about
Sacramentum, this is a necessity and the follow up is great as well.
I'm not too fond of the BM vocals on Depths actually but it's nevertheless soo underrated. The intro to Blot - Lohen der Opferung always reminds me of Chapel of Ghouls.
I thought that Endtime Divine was their weakest effort. Sounds too polished. Everything else by 'em kills. ANYTHING by Abigor is underrated. The best BM band ever.
