| Songs I Can't Stop Listening To, Pt. 1
This stuff haunts my dreams. It's just awesome to me. READ, DAMN YOU! >=D | | 1 | Doomriders Come Alive
Probably one of the most powerful songs I've ever listened to, and since I realized how awesome
Doomriders' sophomore effort, I haven't been able to stop listening to it. This and 'Jealous God' are
definitely the strongest tracks on the album, but this song rocks the shit out of 'Jealous God'. | | 2 | Rise Against Six Ways 'Til Sunday
Plain and simple? The ending chorus. 'YOU'RE THE NEW REVOLUTION, THE ANGST-FILLED ADOLESCENT,
YOU FIT THE STEREOTYPE WELL!' It's wicked, and super catchy. | | 3 | Streetlight Manifesto If And When We Rise
The rapid lyrical barrage here, courtesy of Mr. Tomas Kalonky, is what has me coming back, more than
anything. Of course, Paul Lowndes wicked drumming here can't go unspoken, either. | | 4 | Testament Leave Me Forever
Testament's love song. Good God, this song is AWESOME. Here, they really express the pain of unrequited
love. Let's see any emo band attempt that without cutting themselves, or screaming until their testicles
rise into their chest. | | 5 | Metallica Leper Messiah
Such a monstrous song. This is one of my favorite song to shake the house to. Lars' hi-hat intro serves as
a warning to the light-hearted, 'If you can't thrash, get the hell out.' The descending slide riff here proves
to be one of the most powerful, gut-rumbling riffs out there. People say 'The Thing That Should Not Be' is
Metallica's heaviest riff, or 'Sad But True', but this riff is almost anthemic to me. And once the song gets to
the REAL thrashage, look out. Some trem picking here will live you with whiplash, and a good dose of
metal. And Kirk's intro sweep in the solo is just awesome. The whole solo is a blur, but it leaves you
satisfied. After a few sexy palm-muted notes on the low E, the descent begins again, and the thrashing
gets a bit harder, before returning to the intro riff, and then a rumbling outro. 'Tallicagasm. | |
