06.07.10 | ehhh, really not worth it to go through the whole 'hypocrisy of music that espouses Christianity' spiel again... but yeah, list is pretty samey, not to mention like 90% Christian music without mewithYou |

06.07.10 | ok i guess... im not staying long though
- christian music is yet another example of christianity making concessions to gain more followers and seem 'hip.' it comes at a price-- it's (well, the little it had before) 'authenticity,' or 'purity,' if you will... same with things like Christian meditation classes, Christian bookstores, Christian coffee shops, I could go on and on and on... they're all simply concessions the religion has made to spread itself relentlessly and 'modernize' itself. it wasn't long ago Christianity, generally speaking, was VERY against metal music. but hey, now that they joined in, it's perfectly fine. or, similarly, taking things like Buddhist meditation and simply adding a 'Christian' adjective to the front make it ok, when BEFORE it would have been seen as practicing a different faith. |

06.07.10 | I disagree. I think calling a band Christian is a good way to get baptist pussies to listen to your music :P |
SeaAnemone
06.07.10 | haha chan I was thinking about adding that in there but then realized none of the users here would get it |

06.07.10 | whoever made this list, i dont like you |

06.07.10 | it's actually really stupid to group the whole christian population together like we all believe the exact same thing and all act the same way |
SeaAnemone
06.07.10 | ok, whatever, you're right I forgot tons of people interpret the bible liberally to fit their own agenda but anyway...
just refer to that up there as 'the large portion of Christianity (in America at least) that is perfectly fine with things like Christian coffee shops and Christian metal bands and Christian adjectives everywhere |

06.07.10 | I seriously do agree with you Sea. I really think the extent of it should be "I'm Christian and I also make music" not "I make music and put it Jesus references to sell the record." As a musician who happens to be in the faith, it's very disheartening to see the number of people who will sell a record as Christian just so it will, well sell. |
SeaAnemone
06.07.10 | my way is the ONLY right way, but so is yours |
wittwright
06.07.10 | Yeah, I can definitely see where you come from, I'm christian, but not like that, those christians give all of us a bad name, its kinda sad actually... |
SeaAnemone
06.07.10 | but yeah, convict, you put it fairly well... that's not very 'Christian' of them... but then again Christianity is becoming less and less Christian so it's only expected |
fr33convict
06.07.10 | If the minority speaks loud enough they speak for the majority. |

06.07.10 | Religion is pointless. There is no god. OR, if there is a god it doesn't give a fuck about us. |
