07.18.09 | You can sue me if you feel like it, but MCR's cover of Bob Dylan's Desolation Row is awesome, and it fits perfectly on the movie.
I thought about adding something to the descriptions here, but then maybe I'd spoiler the movie for some of you. I've just watched the Watchmen Director's Cut and I can firmly say that this will be a cult classic on a matter of years. Amazing movie, from an even more amazing graphic novel. I'd go as far as say that not only the graphic novel is a masterpiece, but the movie too. |

07.18.09 | Scenes of the Minutemen playing along with "The Times They Are A-Changin" = Genius
Playing "Sound of Silence" at the funeral of the Comedian = Genius
Playing MCR during the credits at the end = Way to fuck up |
Phantom
07.18.09 | movie is ok, gn is 10000000000000000000000x better |

1 is a good song |

07.18.09 | I didn't like the actor choice for Ozymandias, so much so I never learnt his name. Will probably buy the dvd when it comes out to see the full version with the black freighter/possible squid inclusions. |

07.18.09 | The GN is a masterpiece, but I think the movie did a great job.
Putting aside the fact that I loathe MCR, I think it was really out of place because the rest of the soundtrack are classic rock, blues and folk artists. I believe the producers only put MCR there to appeal to the general public |

07.18.09 | I thought ozymandias was pimp... but I guess he was the weakest played one |

07.18.09 | i still fail to see how mcr appeals to the general public...everybody hates them...ive never met a genuine mcr fan in my life |

07.18.09 | ^ You must not get out much. I've seen plenty of kids with MCR shirts.
Movie ruled. LOL at the usage of Hallelujah, and thank God it was the weakest version. |

07.18.09 | movie was fucking great.
but original desolation row should've been used. |

07.18.09 | regardless of who you see on T-Shirts... i see more ramones, sabbath, and NIN t-shirts than anything... there are way more coldplay, radiohead, american idol, lil wayne, lady gaga fans than there are mcr fans (at least in my age group: above the age of 17, who would've been (legally) allowed to see the movie and likely to have read the GN)
i donno im from NY and even casually liking MCR in public makes you = lame

07.19.09 | "LOL at the usage of Hallelujah, and thank God it was the weakest version."
the song fit great and that's not the weakest version, at all.
"I believe the producers only put MCR there to appeal to the general public"
no, if they were trying to put music in that appealed to the general public they wouldn't have used Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, they would have used Jeff Buckley's version. |

07.19.09 | I need to finish the GN before i see the movie. Still collecting dust of my bookshelf |

07.19.09 | obv not as good as the gn but it was pretty good |

07.19.09 | "the song fit great and that's not the weakest version, at all."
It was just pretty funny using Hallelujah for a sex scene. I could hear about half the theater giggling/laughing during that.
Plus Wainwright's >> Buckley's >> Cohens
Those are the three I've heard. Wainwright and Buckley are both better singers. |

07.19.09 | am i the only one who didn't like this movie? |
DaveyBoy
07.19.09 | I liked the first half of the moviea fair bit. About 3/4 of the way through it though, it totally lost me & I almost nodded off. |

07.19.09 | "lus Wainwright's >> Buckley's >> Cohens

yeah those three are better singers, but not for that song. Cohen wrote the song and it's supposed to be sung emotionless and somewhat monotonous like he does. It's the point of the song. |

08.02.09 | Listening to the soundtrack right now. Fuck, this is possibly the best movie soundtrack of the decade. It's just perfect. I'm playing the movie inside my head while listening. Damn you, Snyder. DAMN YOU! SQUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID |
