02.03.10 | I'm sorry, but Freddie Mercury was the greatest vocalist ever. |
CaptainMorgan13
02.03.10 | obviously he isnt the greatest vocalist ever, im just saying I think I might of underestimated him. Before I heard his old stuff I thought he was always just talking through the songs, but now I think that he has more mastery over his vocals than I initially realized |
CaptainMorgan13
02.03.10 | how is the list fail? I think all of these albums have great tracks and are fun to listen to |
BrandNewBoognish
02.03.10 | It actually wasn't that difficult to tell that he was using hyperbole in the list title, except for fags like infantsorrow i guess |
CaptainMorgan13
02.03.10 | thank you. At least someone gets it |

02.03.10 | 6,9,10 are amazing |
SuperCoolDude
02.03.10 | Well the top five vocalists probably goes something like: Bjork, David Thomas Broughton, Rob Zombie ,Leonard Cohen, and then neil young |
SeaAnemone
02.04.10 | you can't appreciate CTTS at all, yet you praise the vocals of Rob Zombie?
Please excuse me while I chuckle with disdain and bask in a little pool of smugness. |
CaptainMorgan13
02.04.10 | well that list was made nine months ago when I was more narrow minded, so at this point I can say that there are some qualities of CTTS that I enjoy, but I definitely wouldnt rate ATRU above a three. To me the band sounds like a mediocre version of Converge. Also this list isnt praising Rob Zombie, Im saying that I think he is a better vocalist that most people think, especially if you listen to White Zombies 80s releases and compare them with the 90s stuff |
SeaAnemone
02.04.10 | it's pretty difficult to compare CTTS and Converge considering they play distinctly different genres. |
CaptainMorgan13
02.04.10 | well I see Converge as metalcore and CTTS as post hardcore so thats pretty easy to compare |
GnarlyShillelagh
02.04.10 | lolno |
SeaAnemone
02.04.10 | sorry- but that's really incorrect. as much as I dislike attributing bands to genres, neither of those bands are post-hardcore. at all really.
Converge is metalcore.
CTTS is screamo, skramz, whatever. |
SeaAnemone
02.04.10 | oh shit my bad I thought you said BOTH were p-hxc... haha oops! But yea, CTTS really aren't all that similar to post-hardcore at all. They're screamo. |
CaptainMorgan13
02.04.10 | yea thats right I actually forgot what CTTS sounded like but I still dont like them that much
|
SeaAnemone
02.04.10 | ok... but you realize that, for the genre, the vocals are incredibly effective?... as in emotive, the timing is sublime... also the instrumentation is anything but repetitive. |
CaptainMorgan13
02.04.10 | that list i made is pretty much invalid. I only made it because I got into this huge argument with a CTTS fanboy and was pissed off. As a whole I think CTTS is a good representation of the screamo genre, but it is a genre that I wholly dislike, so its hard for me to accept CTTS as a "good band" in the sense that I will listen to them and like their music and buy theri albums. But if you like that type of music that CTTS is the way to go |
shortone323
02.04.10 | SeaAnenome - He's moved on from his initial impression of hating the band, that is absolutely anything but accessible, to appreciating some aspects of their work. And that post is pretty much all opinion, albeit one shared by a vast majority of the site.

02.04.10 | fair enough- I know what you mean. |
