Work Music

I work at a video game store and we have this little stereo system we can hook up iPods or play CDs on. I'm usually the one in charge of the music (thankfully), so this is some of the stuff that gets played daily.
1And So I Watch You From Afar
And So I Watch You From Afar

A lot of instrumental stuff gets played because there are no offensive lyrics (obviously), plus it's easier to keep up a good working pace with some rocking jams playing.
2At The Drive-In
Relationship of Command

Have you ever tasted skin?
3Battles
Mirrored

Customers are usually confused/terrified of this.
4Brand New
Deja Entendu

Its hard not to like this album.
5 Death From Above 1979
You're a Woman, I'm a Machine

This always keeps me in a good mood at work.
6DJ Shadow
Endtroducing
7Dredg
Catch Without Arms
8The Faint
Danse Macabre

Another album that confuses people. I saw someone attempt to dance to this once; hilarious.
9Faith No More
King for a Day, Fool For a Lifetime
10The Flaming Lips
Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

This gets a lot of plays over the summer.
11The Flashbulb
Soundtrack to a Vacant Life

Great to have playing in the background.
12Manchester Orchestra
Mean Everything to Nothing

The most indie thing I can get away with playing that doesn't annoy my coworkers.
13The Mars Volta
De-Loused in the Comatorium

I think i've turned all of my coworkers into Volta fans by playing this countless times.
14Maybeshewill
Not for Want of Trying

More interesting post-rock.
15Minus the Bear
Planet of Ice

Another great summer album, hard not to love this too.
16Muse
Absolution
17Nine Inch Nails
Year Zero

This is really the only full NIN album I can play, but I usually go for a playlist I made, mostly singles + non-offensive songs.
18Oceansize
Frames

For those long days.
19Opeth
Damnation

Either this or a slow Opeth playlist. Turned a few customers and coworkers on to this too.
20Portugal. The Man
The Satanic Satanist

The most recent album getting played. "Work All Day" is sadly appropriate.
21Radiohead
In Rainbows

Almost all Radiohead albums get a lot of play time, but In Rainbows gets the most. A lot of customers like to start up Radiohead conversations, which is always cool.
22RX Bandits
...And the Battle Begun
23Thrice
Vheissu
24Tool
Lateralus

My boss, who only listens to Top 40 radio hits, said this was really good and he liked the drumming. Epic win.
