Mojib's Top Albums Of 2007

Sputnikmusic contacted Mojib to pick his brain and ask for his top albums of 2007. His answers - along with many of his colleagues' submissions - will be featured in an artists' retrospective staff feature shortly.
1Caribou
Andorra

"Can someone please put him in a time machine so he can help Brian Wilson finish Smile?"
2Queens of the Stone Age
Era Vulgaris

"The lyrics in "I'm a designer" and the sliding guitar in "Into the hollow" would have been enough."
3Digitalism
Idealism

"Ed Banger produced some excellent singles but never a solid album, so the Germans helped them out."
4Charlotte Hatherley
The Deep Blue

"With better lyrics and songwriting than the previous solo album Charlotte managed to combine her excellent skill layering vocals and guitars in a pop perfect way. Plus she is sexy."
5UNKLE
War Stories

"I'm a huge UNKLE fan but they have never released a perfect album. This is getting close with tracks like "Broken" and "When things explode". I want an acoustic album next time, please."
6Patrick Watson
Close to Paradise

"Ed Harcourt being a bit more confined, but in a good way, if that makes sense."
7SoSo
Tinfoil on the Windows

"SoSo sounds as if Buck 65 was his dad and while his previous hip-hop albums were good he has made one of the most inspiring creative turns an artist can do with this new effort. Without any pretentious bullpoop he feasts on your heart and is brutally honest and poetic about love in a simple but very effective way. All this with an indie movie soundtrack that makes your heart bleed. How he makes this work is beyond me, I mean, he cant sing and it doesn't matter."
8Radiohead
In Rainbows

"Yep, I like it and especially since Hail to the Thief was going to be their proper follow up to OK Computer. This is more like it. Oh, and my remix wasn't very good, sorry about that..."
9 Fink
My Mixtape

"You take the best tracks from his debut album that came out last year, combine that with the two new EPs "Distance and time" and "Little blue mailbox" and you've got an excellent CD."
10The Field
From Here We Go Sublime

"My fellow Swedes. They've got a lot of attention because of this album and it's well deserved."
---
"... And of course my own album plus everyone I forgot..."
