10 Favorite Albums Sonically speaking...

Albums that sound good from a an aural stand point.
1 Jaga Jazzist
Livingroom Hush

This covers the entire spectrum of frequencies and moods, I don't know if it gets better.
2Bjork
Vespertine

Hmm after after giving it some thought this is good enough to be number one.
Listen to this album with some good (not stock ipod) headphones. It will blow your mind.
3 the Mars Volta
All of them

This band is astounding.... well i think that sums it up.

Soundsystem

This album mixed everything from hip-hop, reggae, and punk and did a good job of keeping it sonically balanced. Listen to Sever for a good example.
5A Perfect Circle
Thirteenth Step

The band made good use of dynamics on this album... everything from Vanishing, to Pet.
6 Pink Floyd
All of them

This band is legendary for creating some of the most sought after tones of all time. (strange cause time hasn't ended) Give Dark Side of the Moon, And the Wall a listen for two their most famous performances.
7Pat Metheny Group
The Way Up

Not just a great guitar player but a well balanced album.
8 Philip Glass
Analog

Besides being a great composer he keeps his works sonically diverse.
Analog is a pseudo greatest hits....
9Slipknot
Iowa

What would this be without metal? All loud all the time...
but besides being just loud it's mixed well.
10Imogen Heap
Speak For Yourself

A great album another to listen to with a nice set of headphones.
