Manic Street Preachers Songs
My Favourite Manics Songs! |
1 | Manic Street Preachers 4st 7lbs
The jagged rhythm, the dark lyrics, the meditative outro - everything comes together for this track. |
2 | Further Away
This song has a catchy verse, a very catchy chorus, and an incredibly catchy drum fill which repeats through the song - just great fun to hear. |
3 | Condemned to Rock & Roll
Brilliant opening riff, plaintive outro, and acidic lyrics. |
4 | I Live To Fall Asleep
Gorgeous rising vocal progression, the best soft song the Manics have done. |
5 | Archives of Pain
Breakneck tempo changes, edgy lyrics, and the three best guitar solos James has done. |
6 | Little Baby Nothing
Great message and vocals from Traci Lords - and the chanted outro is classic too. |
7 | Locust Valley
Catchy chorus, start-stop riffing, and a searing solo - it's a shame this was relegated to a B-side! |
8 | Kevin Carter
Jazzy rhythm and trumpet solos make this a winner, and the "click-click-click" lyrics are fantastic. |
9 | From Despair To Where
An anthemic stadium rock song with melodic guitar leads and a powerful vocal. |
10 | Stay Beautiful
This punk/glam song has a massive chorus - just pure fun from the first album. |
11 | Sleepflower
A slow burning hard rocker with some fantastic melodic solos. James is a truly underrated guitarist. |
12 | A Song For Departure
80's sounding production helps this melancholy song - it has a driving rhythm and massive chorus. |
13 | Yes
Strange time signatures and some of the strangest lyrics I have heard make this a fitting opener for one of my favourite albums. |
14 | 4 Ever Delayed
Simply gorgeous opening chords and a massive chorus help this melodic rocker. |
15 | A Design For Life
The biggest chorus to emerge from britpop, and also the best drinking song. |
16 | Motown Junk
Early punk fury - shows hints of later greatness and contains a Public Enemy sample! |
17 | Tsunami
Strange sitar-like guitar effects and insightful lyrics help this great pop song. |
18 | Love Torn Us Under
A dark acoustic song. Highlights are the closing guitar solo and the strange sound effects which carry the track. |
19 | Montana/Autumn/78
Though the chorus is weak, Montana/Autumn/78 has an uplifting, redemptive verse. |
20 | The Year of Purification
Bouncy and fun, a highlight of "Know Your Enemy". |
