Crysis
06.08.08 | 7 shouldn't be on this list. |
ninjuice
06.08.08 | the people on All Music are idiots, really. |
BallsToTheWall
06.08.08 | You forgot Ultimate Guitar, and my personal favorite, metalreview.com you dickbag. None of these sites are elite enough to be granted with my presence so i'll just leave it at that. Fuck 10. |
Chewie
06.08.08 | everyone on sputnik are arrogant dicks, but the music taste requirements to succeed on this site are great.
The reviews are great, and the lists are the reason I come back to this site, so I'd rank sputnik #1. |
flamethisuser
06.08.08 | oh. snap. |
SCREAM!
06.08.08 | Yeah, sputnik's reviews(for the most aprt) are better than the reivew on all those other sites. Sputnik has done more for my music taste in 1 year than rolling stone could in 10 |

06.08.08 | I have comments to each of the sites on the list but for some reason they don't show up. |
SCREAM!
06.08.08 | Explanations only work on album lists. |

06.08.08 | Well, for posterity sake, here's my comment to Sputnik:
Often excellent reviews but way too much emphasis on metal and pop. Get some grown-ups in here, will you? |
BallsToTheWall
06.08.08 | Not enough emphasis on metal to be honest. I might as well form a metalreview.com account when the front pages are boring. |
AggravatedYeti
06.08.08 | hehehe. |
Pebster49
06.08.08 | we have pop reviews? crazy |

06.08.08 | "Often excellent reviews but way too much emphasis on metal and pop. Get some grown-ups in here, will you?"
Are you serious? Nearly the entire staff is devoted to alternative/indie/"grown up" reviews. And if I do say so myself, the staff reviews are consistently better than nearly all the other sites you mention. Rolling Stone is particularly terrible, as their reviews don't actually say anything at all.
Also, Metacritic shouldn't count since they nick their reviews off all the internet. |

So I assume you're a 37-year-old yuppie? |
SHOOTME
06.08.08 | 9 shouldn't be on any list anywhere. |
Mendigo
06.08.08 | if you just look at the writing style, I'd say Pitchfork is the best. |
TheDistantFuture
06.08.08 | Yea, allmusic really bites, see my list for proof of that. |
Chewie
06.08.08 | but Pitchfork has the crappiest looking pages and it has zero budget for anything. |

06.09.08 | I personally disagree with almost everything here. I broke into laughter however when I saw Pitchfork, Robert Christgau and Rolling Stone. All 3 websites have an incredibly narrow minded approach to reviewing music. Robert Christgau is so anti music that I sometimes think he's purposely paid by consumer weekly to troll people's life's whilst they unknowingly hang on to his every word. Rolling Stone lives under a rock as far I can tell, completely unaware that the 60's are over. Ask for Pitchfork, well all I have to do is refer you to comedian David Cross and you need not look further.
However something tells me this is a joke list... |
FlawedPerfection
06.09.08 | Stylus was the shit, and PopMatters is usually pretty good. There's one decent staff reviewer on Sputnik. All the rest of these generally suck a lot. |
