Biggest Influences
My ten biggest influences in music |
1 | John Mayer
One of the most gifted musically people of our generation. Great sense for melody, consistent songwriting and showmanship. He's the new Clapton. |
2 | James Dean Bradfield
The backbone of the Manic Street Preachers. Extremely good at writing hooks and guitarparts for pop-rock songs that really stick in your head. One of the most underrated guitarists in rock these days. |
3 | Tyler Hilton
His pop-rock with a slight country-feel is just brilliant. Genuinely a nice guy too. |
4 | Benjamin Gibbard
His abstract yet understandable lyrics are always easy to fit into your own life. As well a great sense for melody. 'Company Calls Epilogue'. |
5 | John Rzeznik
For his use of funky tunings and his ability to write hit pop/rock songs. |
6 | Damien Rice
No one writes acoustic tracks like him. A little inconsistent songwriting but his melodies are always ace. |
7 | Colin Meloy
Frontman of the Decemberists, incredible voice and sense of style. Very original sound. |
8 | James Mercer
The Shins frontman, really like his distinct voice. |
9 | Joakim Berg
Without a doubt one of the most gifted Swedish songwriters. Incredible feeling in his songs, both lyrics and melody. |
10 | Ryan Adams
Very inconsistent musically because he basically puts out too much music. At times he's really great though, 'Rock N Roll' and 'Heartbreaker'. |
