09.17.07 | I know the last 2 aren't primarily linked with prog, but they do have notable progressive influences that are pretty clear when you listen to them. So any suggestions would be very welcome, thanks. | ThePrimer
09.17.07 | Orphaned Land, The Red Chord, Communic, Daylight Dies, Disillusion (Back to Times Of Splendor, not Gloria)... | Yazz_Flute
09.17.07 | Shadow Gallery
Shadow Gallery
Shadow Gallery
Newer Enslaved too for more black/death progressive metal. | Zoo
09.17.07 | Mercenary, Evergrey, Iced Earth, Raintime, Riverside. | Doppelganger
09.17.07 | Definite yes to Orphaned Land. | freudianslipknot
09.17.07 | Yes, to Shadow Gallery. Pagan's Mind (Celestial Entrance) is really great Dream Theater type stuff. Pain of Salvation and Evergrey are cool though variously categorised as prog metal or rock. Moonsorrow (V: Havitetty) is awesome prog black metal. Fates Warning (Awaken the Guardian) is classic prog metal. | Monticello
09.17.07 | Andromeda. | chimera908
09.17.07 | maudlin of the Well...best prog ever. | Lunarfall
09.18.07 | Fates Warning for sure (Awaken the Guardian, No Exit and A Pleasant Shade Of Gray are my recommendations), Outworld (self-titled), Opeth (get either My Arms..., Still Life or Blackwater Park first), Queensryche (for sure get Operation Mindcrime). | Spectrum
09.18.07 | Cyniccyniccyniccyniccyniccyniccynic.
Also, Cynic. Did I mention Cynic?
Perhaps some Meshuggah or Tool, maybe even Russian Circles.
Heck, you may even like King Crimson's album Red. It's pretty classic. | Altmer
09.18.07 | Kamelot
Apocalyptica (not technically prog, but cello metal is pretty inventive)
Meshuggah
Pain of Salvation
Queensryche
Porcupine Tree
Ayreon
Nevermore if you consider this prog
in addition to what was mentioned
| Thor
09.18.07 | Into Eternity
The Human Abstract -- not totally prog, but still
Raintime | linxer
09.18.07 | Green Carnation, Porcupine tree, Ayreon, Pain of Salvation, Riverside, Shadow Gallery, and Agora, these guys are from Mexico and they sound something like early Dream Theater stuff | chimera908
09.18.07 | Oh yeah Spectrum reminded me you absolutely need to check out Cynic. |
