12.19.24 | solid list, but do y'all really have music playing while reading? i find it super distracting |
Galbador
12.19.24 | I usually do even while studying or writing. I've recently come to terms about it probably being a hyperactive trait. Definetely won't be paying full attention to music. It is more like something where I drawn inspiration in this situation. And stop myself from being distracted from something more distracting while studying xd |

12.19.24 | Great albums, though I don’t know if I’d read to anything but instrumental stuff. Also I just finished the first Dune novel and enjoyed it a lot, definitely going to check the rest. |

12.19.24 | I am a huge sci fi nerd but idk if i’ll ever read Dune. I’ve just heard so many conflicting opinions that my expectations are now completely tainted. Anyway cool list. I like to read to music as well, not every time, but sometimes finding that right album can enhance the atmosphere of the book in a cool way. It’s also helpful for when I’m feeling scatterbrained, it just adds another buffer to the noise inside my own head. |

12.20.24 | @ScuroFantasma Some day I need to be patient enough to delve into ambient. Only thing fitting I can think right now is Blood Incantations effort, but space ambient could be cool. |

12.20.24 | @artificialbox Yes! The music works in same ways for me. Helps me to concentrate and I occasionally put my attention to jamming. Really makes mundane interesting so often.
The first Dune reads pretty much like a fantasy novel. Overall the typical scifi themes are pretty light from the start. The deepest nerd stuff is mainly in my ballpark. Philosophy, psychology, social sciences, theology and biology. But don't get me wrong the space themes are there and there will be more odd technological inventions, space ships and weird life forms as the books progress. The books are mostly about conversations between characters and theories of what will happen eventually which you have been given a great amount of conflicting clues. Books 3 and 4 were some of my favorite fiction ever. Highly recommended even thou the start may be a bit slow for somebody expecting typical scifi adventures. All of the slowness and setting up the lore really pays off in a spectacular fashion. |

12.20.24 | @Galbador you should check out some of the Berliner Schule sequencer stuff, it’s extremely appropriate for sci-fi. One of my favorite modern guys doing it is Boris SG. Sample pretty much anything from him to get a sense of the style. |

12.20.24 | Thanks! I'll check it out. Been meaning to delve in for some time, but didn't have any idea where to start. |
