To me, Green Day in and of themselves are almost a cringe proposition in and of themselves

What guitar(s) do you have

So last weekend I went down to Long and McQuade on a whim and started playing a whole bunch of their nicest guitars. Taylors, Martins, Gibsons, couple Godins, Epiphones, Simon and Patricks, etc. I found one particular guitar that sounded better than anything I've ever played and ended up going back the next day to pick it up. It's a Gibson G-45 Standard. It has a soundhole on the left shoulder and its sound just has so much depth, it's very bright but with a beautiful low-end. And playing it is just so fluid, I've been playing for like 3 hours a day every day again. Going from playing classical for years to playing acoustic again is really nice because I don't have to stretch my hands as far. Now I'm thinking I need to expand my collection more and also buy a really nice classical and a nice electric (probably a Strat as it's a childhood dream). But I also might go for a Gretsch, I'm not sure. What are your favourite guitars? I will post them below.
1The Tallest Man on Earth
The Wild Hunt

Gibson G-45 Standard - nicest acoustic I have had, in love with it
2Julia Holter
Have You In My Wilderness

Yamaha CG122MS - classical I've been playing for years, cheap but does everything you need
3The Beatles
Rubber Soul

Simon and Patrick Woodland Cedar - got this around a decade ago when it was like 60% of its current price, really strong bright sound for the price range, great brand all around
4George Harrison
All Things Must Pass

Gretsch G5122 - traded something for this back in the day... totally worth it. It has some issues he didn't tell me about before I got it but I still got the better end of the deal for sure. Hollow body electrics are really nice cause they're flexible. You can play with or without an amp and imo Gretsch makes the most aesthetically pleasing electrics
5The Replacements
Let It Be

Some old Epiphone I can't remember the model of, it's back at home and was my first acoustic. Epiphone has a hard time shaking their reputation of only making beginner guitars I think, but they have some nice ones too. This particular one is decent, the action is super high which is not beginner friendly at all but it definitely made me a better player.
6Sun Kil Moon
Ghosts of the Great Highway

Some Strat Knockoff I got as a kid - it is not a strat but it looks like one and sometimes that's enough
7The Mountain Goats
Jenny From Thebes

Squier Telecaster - amazing budget guitar, this is the guitar I would recommend to any beginner who wants to play electric or even an intermediate player who just wants something cheap but reliable
8Geese
3D Country

Barracuda - I have this guitar I also got as a kid called a "Barracuda." It lives under my bed back at home. I don't even remember what model it's replicating. It weighs about 800 pounds and has never once been in tune in its entire life. I hate it
9 Animal Collective
Isn't It Now?

Mini classical guitar I forget the model of as well but it's a Yamaha. First guitar I ever played. When I turned 6 my dad gave it to me. I covered it in dolphin stickers and then he taught me the blues. Need to find it.
10Hop Along
Bark Your Head Off, Dog

Squier Affinity Precision Bass in Olympic White. Bought this in late 2020 and played it a grand total of twice. I don't know why. Really really need to play it again cause bass is fun.
11The Tallest Man on Earth
The Wild Hunt

"my lil brother has a 2nd hand strat that he semi-gave me at some point (he plays a bass on a shitass dilapidated plank he strapped a gear4music fretboard and couple of pickups) but i never used it much other than for a handful of recordings

used to play an Ibanez RG7321 (without a low B string because fuck that noise), which i adored and abused for all the wrong reasons. disgustingly enabling guitar for tech-first playing, would buy a superior RG model in a heartbeat if i ever went back to playing primarily heavy music. balanced this with an Epiphone Dot for a more melodic playstyle, but that always felt like an uneven compromise...
12The Tallest Man on Earth
The Wild Hunt

splashed out on a fender telecaster player series last year and have never looked back. punishes sloppy playing much more than anything I've played before, sounds like a dream clean and is brutally angular when i need it to be. modding it out a little because some of the og design choices are brainless (the jack input and placement of elements on the control plate jfc), but don't anticipate switching guitars at any point in the future. would like a better acoustic guitar though, had to leave my last one in japan when I left, and coming back to the shittrash cheapo yamaha plank I currently own after 2 years on acoustic only was a brutal revelation" - johnnyofthewell
13Cory Hanson
Western Cum

"homemade king v type guitar - alder body, jackson dinky neck i got online, seymour duncan distortion pickups. brass bridge saddles make it a bit trebbly but very tight and sounds great in about c#-B tuning

ibanez RGT1270PB which is a lovely playing and sounding guitar, amazing tuning stability, but haven't restringed it since i got it and has what feels like 8s on there or something lmao
ibanez iron label SIR27FD (essentially a 7 string sabre), plays nice and great lead sound but despite replacing the bridge pickup a few times it is simultaneously quite scratchy and flabby sounding for metal which is a shame. replacing the dimarzio paf7 with a seymour duncan nazgul which didn't help much...

washburn solar 160c - great guitar, probably my favourite to play out of the ones i have. nice crunchy pickups and nice neck

old squier affinity strat with the bridge pickup swapped for a hot rails - okay guitar but i didn't swap out the stock pots so it's very boomy sounding

also a couple of guitars i borrowed/got super cheap that i don't ever play - a vintage metal axxe which was beat up pretty bad by my mate who i got it from. and a dean les paul copy which had a paulownia body which made it rather nice acoustically. and then a peavey grind 5 string bass" - Madbutcher3
15Daft Punk
Random Access Memories

"Cool thread. Bought an American Fender strat recently, never play it.
Love my 2012 Gibson Explorer w/ bare knuckle pickups, it's lovely for metal but also versatile, tons of tone and character here. It's my go-to guitar together with a 2005 Ibanez RGA121 Prestige which is probably objectively the best guitar overall in my collection. There's another Ibanez S 1220 prestige that's really good, an Epiphone Prophecy V because it's a fucking V with 24 frets. Oh and never got rid of my first guitar for sentimental reasons, that's a 1986 Aria Pro II metal axe with emg's in it. I've owned about 4 7-strings throughout the years, mostly Ibanez. Sold them all. When all is said and done, 6-string is the way to go for me." - DePlazz
16Gia Margaret
Mia Gargaret

"Ibanez TCM50 left hand acoustic, brown suburst. And a Tanglewood ES-335 copy, also lefty in cherry red!" - fogza
17Mac Miller
Faces

"I only have a Taylor acoustic. I don’t even know what model it is…

My pride and joy was my Yamaha hip gig kit. That thing was small but mighty." - Manatea
18Big Wild
Superdream

"Epiphone Les Paul that I’ve had for like 8 years, it’s long been time for an upgrade but it still works and plays well enough." - Wildcardbitchesss
19Palace
So Long Forever

"squire tele, epiphone les paul, couple cheap ass acoustics. Never had money for good shit" - Trebor.
20Tyler, the Creator
Call Me If You Get Lost

"I mostly play a jazzmaster & 5 string jazz bass lol" - Tyler
