RECS STARTING BELOW
11Sea Oleena
Weaving A Basket

Egarran

Not slowcore, but Groupercore, and it's really good! Reminds me a lot of Ruins. Great album and yeah, I can see myself spinning this before going to sleep.

4.0

Favourite track: On Possession
12Acetone
Acetone

TheBoneyKing

Didn't feel this when I checked the first couple of songs. Gonna relisten when I'm in the mood for something summery.
13Helvetia
The Clever North Wind

myri14

Hmm...the first track is cool, but after that one I quickly lost interest. Ah, I see this is a project from one of the Duster guys. Could never get into that band. Gonna keep the opener and forget about the rest.

2.5

FT: Songs of the Ancient.
14King's Daughters and Sons
If Then Not When

TheBoneyKing

Yes yes yeeees this is the stuff I've been looking for! Slow and brooding like The For Carnation, but more diverse and with some faster/louder/post-rocky cuts. Really good.

4.5

FT: All of them! (Okay, maybe 'Lorelei' or 'A Storm Kept Them Away')

Edit: okay actually I was a bit too enthusiastic and this is actually a 4. Lorelei & Open Sky are still perfect though, and I can see the record growing back to a 4.5.
15The Exit Bags
Our Sun Will Clean Its Holy Wounds

JohnnyOfTheWell & sixdegrees

This very much captures the gloomy moods of Have a Nice Life/Giles Corey. Some cool guitar parts as well. Ultimately, it wasn't my thing though - too lo-fi. But it's good too see a user/emeritus project gain some love!
16Bedhead
Beheaded

Porcupinetheater & rabidfish

Yes this is cool & the vibe I was looking for. But also, as is often the case with slowcore, these cold, cold songs need time to warm up to. Gonna settle with a cautious 3.5 for now.

3.5

FT: The Rest of the Day
