Children of Bodom albums ranked

My own ranking of the bands discography based purely upon my own enjoyment of each album.
1Children of Bodom
Follow the Reaper

It's a classic, back-to-back impeccable tracks with great fluidity and highlights what this band is capable of.
2Children of Bodom
Hate Crew Deathroll

Just falls short of the same status Follow the Reaper has. Still a very well structured album which offers one hell of a ride every time I return to this record.
3Children of Bodom
Are You Dead Yet?

With these three albums in a row, Children of Bodom were able to seperate themselves from the herd and establish themselves as forerunners of the genre... and then they fell from their climb to the top, hard.
4Children of Bodom
Hexed

From the singles things were looking good for COB's tenth album. What a shock to the system this was, the best material they have written in about fourteen years and what an album it is. As well as having the finest artwork of any release to their name, the sheer number of riffs, the duality of Laiho and Freyberg, the great standard of drums, Henkka's fine outro on the title track and the (sort of) return of the neo-classical keyboards/sound. What a record, what a band, I fucking love this after every spin.
5Children of Bodom
Halo of Blood

An unexpected and welcome return to form, mostly. More focused song writing, some of the best songs of their career happen to be on this record.
6Children of Bodom
Hatebreeder

A somewhat excellent sophomore album which encapsulates what was to come. Some absolute gems on this one however I feel Alexi and co were still finding their feet in both musicianship and writing ability.
7Children of Bodom
I Worship Chaos

Following on from the bleeder that was Halo of Blood, the most recent offering from one of Finland's favourite sons (there are so many), it slightly wavers when compared to the previous effort. Still producing some solid material however it fails to come together as one cohesive piece, or it would of been higher on the list for sure.
8Children of Bodom
Something Wild

From the get-go it was clear these boys weren't fucking around. At such a young age, I believe they were between the ages of 17 and 23 at this time, it was clear these kids were talented. Personally I don't find myself listening to this album too often.
9Children of Bodom
Relentless Reckless Forever

Now for the lower tier works of the band, not a piece of shit by any means however with only a select few decent tracks and the remaining three quarters of the disk being absolute fodder, it deserves to be here. Just some boring melo death/thrash tracks thrown together.
10Children of Bodom
Blooddrunk

I enjoy three tracks at a push from this frisbee of an album. This came out the same year as Twilight of the Thunder God, Obzen, The Way of All Flesh, Holographic Universe and Iconoclast to name a few. It doesn't compare when named next to these titans, it's how we'd say up north... fucking shite.
