| Children of Bodom albums ranked
My own ranking of the bands discography based purely upon my own enjoyment of each album. | 1 | | Children of Bodom Follow the Reaper
It's a classic, back-to-back impeccable tracks with great fluidity and highlights what this band is capable of. | 2 | | Children of Bodom Hate Crew Deathroll
Just falls short of the same status Follow the Reaper has. Still a very well structured album which offers one hell of a ride every time I return to this record. | 3 | | Children of Bodom Are You Dead Yet?
With these three albums in a row, Children of Bodom were able to seperate themselves from the herd and establish themselves as forerunners of the genre... and then they fell from their climb to the top, hard. | 4 | | Children of Bodom Hexed
From the singles things were looking good for COB's tenth album. What a shock to the system this was, the best material they have written in about fourteen years and what an album it is. As well as having the finest artwork of any release to their name, the sheer number of riffs, the duality of Laiho and Freyberg, the great standard of drums, Henkka's fine outro on the title track and the (sort of) return of the neo-classical keyboards/sound. What a record, what a band, I fucking love this after every spin. | 5 | | Children of Bodom Halo of Blood
An unexpected and welcome return to form, mostly. More focused song writing, some of the best songs of their career happen to be on this record. | 6 | | Children of Bodom Hatebreeder
A somewhat excellent sophomore album which encapsulates what was to come. Some absolute gems on this one however I feel Alexi and co were still finding their feet in both musicianship and writing ability. | 7 | | Children of Bodom I Worship Chaos
Following on from the bleeder that was Halo of Blood, the most recent offering from one of Finland's favourite sons (there are so many), it slightly wavers when compared to the previous effort. Still producing some solid material however it fails to come together as one cohesive piece, or it would of been higher on the list for sure. | 8 | | Children of Bodom Something Wild
From the get-go it was clear these boys weren't fucking around. At such a young age, I believe they were between the ages of 17 and 23 at this time, it was clear these kids were talented. Personally I don't find myself listening to this album too often. | 9 | | Children of Bodom Relentless Reckless Forever
Now for the lower tier works of the band, not a piece of shit by any means however with only a select few decent tracks and the remaining three quarters of the disk being absolute fodder, it deserves to be here. Just some boring melo death/thrash tracks thrown together. | 10 | | Children of Bodom Blooddrunk
I enjoy three tracks at a push from this frisbee of an album. This came out the same year as Twilight of the Thunder God, Obzen, The Way of All Flesh, Holographic Universe and Iconoclast to name a few. It doesn't compare when named next to these titans, it's how we'd say up north... fucking shite. | |

05.15.18 | Have only heard 1, 3, 4, 8. 1 was my favorite by far, but 3 and 4 were fantastic. 8 was painful to sit through imo. So painfully average. | Meridiu5
05.16.18 | Solid rankings | DungeonBoy
05.16.18 | Unbelievable. 5, 1, 7, maybe 2 then whatever.
Also, not a full length but Tokyo Warhearts > | TheSpirit
05.16.18 | their first five albums are their best
FtR, HB, SW, AYDY, HCDR HoB, IWC, | DungeonBoy
05.16.18 | Man, Follow the Reaper is such a sick album, what an amazing progression after Hatebreeder | TheClansman95
05.16.18 | Strange list tbh. I agree only with n°1 | Judio!
05.16.18 | 5 is 1 | Doctuses
05.16.18 | Yikers. | TheClansman95
05.17.18 | Hatebreeder deserves the first or the second spot | NordicNorth
05.18.18 | Appreciate the comments folks, if you wish leave a comment of what you would rank them, I see a few have done so already. Always interesting to see how people rank albums. As for the most controversial one, I debated hard about HB, definitely some of their greatest tracks on this record, Silent Night, Hatebreeder, BoR, Downfall. Purely put HoB ahead of it because I listen to it a lot more and have enjoyed it muchmore these past 5 years. | KingDweedle
05.18.18 | Hm, I would put Something Wild higher for sure but I haven't done a discog run of CoB. I should change that for sure. | TheClansman95
05.18.18 | They should play something out of Halo of Blood on the Next tour |
