05.25.22 | 1) if they do anything else the fans bitch so they go through the motions to retain a soulless career and make money
2) most people are not tastemakers and don’t have an eye for art
3) all you need to make passable indie folk is a guitar and and a very flaccid cock |

05.25.22 | 1. They are either scared to piss off their audience, OR they genuinely love the style of music they make and wouldn't enjoy branching off into different sonic directions. AC/DC and Motorhead are great examples of this.
2. Agreed. Unless you don't have the budget for decent artwork, there is no excuse for accepting subpar artwork.
3. I fucking hate indie music, so I don't care about this question. |

05.25.22 | i don't think a lot of major label bands have a say over artwork, that'll all be controlled by a marketing team who do not give a shit if you can hang the art in a gallery or not |

05.25.22 | for the third one, honestly some people are only creative for short bouts. think of it like when an essay is due and you don't get around to it until the night before, and suddenly you're churning out some eloquent writing you didn't feel you were capable of just days before. also a lot of songs are written while on tour, and then it's just a matter of putting it all together in the studio |
