11.29.16 | Sound of Madness t/t jams |
Sowing
11.29.16 | Nice to see someone else who appreciates these guys. I used to love everything they did but Amaryllis was a big step down and then their most recent was completely awful.
As far as the ranking goes I'm with you 100%, just swap the bottom two rankings. Amaryllis has quite a few redeeming moments but TtS is almost unilateral trash. Your descriptions are very well written. |

11.29.16 | sound of madness owns leave a whisper |
SoundofMadness1
11.29.16 | Thanks for the comments guys. This is the first thing I've written for Sputnik so it's nice to get some feedback. Sowing, I can sort of see where you're coming from with tts because it's so different from their older stuff. I still like it, though.

Conmaniac
11.29.16 | strange feature i must say |
SoundofMadness1
11.30.16 | Academy, those two are just about dead even for me. Both awesome albums. |
SoundofMadness1
11.30.16 | Conmaniac, I just joined Sputnik and wanted to write something. Figured I might as well start with my favorite band. |
Conmaniac
11.30.16 | I'm not faulting you at all this is pretty well written but it's just strange to see a list like this featured when there are so many of these types of lists basically everyday.
welcome to sput tho man |
Sowing
11.30.16 | What Conmaniac means is that your list got featured. The little black diamond next to your list title indicates this, which means your list stays on the front page longer. Usually really long or involved lists earn a feature, but I suppose someone featured this because you put a decent amount of effort into the descriptions even though the list itself is short. |
Rik VII
11.30.16 | Very good descrptions, keep it up! |
SoundofMadness1
11.30.16 | Oh, I got it. In that case I'm honestly pretty surprised this was featured. |
SoundofMadness1
11.30.16 | Thanks, RikRoach! |
BurnedBlack606
11.30.16 | Second Chance is nice |
SoundofMadness1
11.30.16 | Yes it is. A little overplayed but still a very good song. |
Sowing
11.30.16 | I don't know why but "In Memory" has always been my favorite Shinedown track. I really related to it at the time and that just kind of stuck forever. Of course I like all the usual Shinedown hits too. Until Amaryllis, they never really wrote a "bad" song. |
porcupinetheater
11.30.16 | Thread is a lot more uniformly supportive than I expected a Shinedown ranked list to be on Sput |
SoundofMadness1
11.30.16 | Sowing, I agree that "In Memory" is awesome. That one and "Crying Out" are definitely my favorite non-hits from the album. |
Dylan620
11.30.16 | Nice to see a fellow Shinedown fan around here m/
Have still yet to spin their latest two but their first three have massive nostalgic value for me. I'd probably rank them SoM > LaW > UaT but all three are fantastic. |
Spacesh1p
11.30.16 | "Thread is a lot more uniformly supportive than I expected a Shinedown ranked list to be on Sput"
Going to echo proc here but good on us being civil. |
SoundofMadness1
11.30.16 | Dylan, the last two are definitely a step down from the first three. I still like them both, though. |
porcupinetheater
11.30.16 | Now that you're here on Sput, SoundofShinedown, if you're open to branching that hard rock game, check out Clutch - Blast Tyrant |
SoundofMadness1
11.30.16 | Porcupine, I will do that. |
JohnnyoftheWell
11.30.16 | Agreed on Us and Them being underrated - Fake and Some Day is a lovely closing combo |
SoundofMadness1
11.30.16 | Some Day is a great way to close the album. |
Sowing
11.30.16 | I have a shit ton of hard rock recommendations for you, just remind me sometime and I'll rattle them off when I'm not fumbling around on my mobile device. |
SoundofMadness1
11.30.16 | Sounds good, man. |
SandwichBubble
11.30.16 | "Thread is a lot more uniformly supportive than I expected a Shinedown ranked list to be on Sput"
Probably because people are surprised a new account/list isn't an alt and don't want to chase a new user away by being complete nads.
On that note, hello @SoundofMadness1. Cool first list :) |
Kalopsia
11.30.16 | 1 was good.
The rest are f'ing terrible. |
SoundofMadness1
11.30.16 | Hey, @SandwichBubble. Thank you. |
SoundofMadness1
11.30.16 | Kalopsia, you suck. |
Masochist
11.30.16 | I can dig Shinedown. Some of their songs will probably always remain in rotation for me, and they put on a great live show, too. I loved that song "Devour," and of course "Fly From The Inside." |
SoundofMadness1
11.30.16 | I've seen them live three times and they never disappoint. Same here some of their songs just never get old for me. |
808muzik
11.30.16 | more like worst to worst.
lol |
SoundofMadness1
11.30.16 | Damn you lol |
SoundofMadness1
11.30.16 | @porcupinetheater, I already went ahead and listened to Blast Tyrant and was impressed. I may have to check out more stuff from Clutch. |
Jeffrulesyou
11.30.16 | Shinedown ain't bad at all. Their singer is damn talented! Guy seriously has some pipes. I'm not the biggest fan outside a few of their songs, but I saw em live in 04 and they were spot on. |
Snake.
11.30.16 | we can't post funny soundoffs anymore but sowing can tolerate acad featuring irrevelant as shit lists that's totally fair |
porcupinetheater
11.30.16 | Glad you dug Clutch, Man. If you wanted to keep going with 'em, I'd say check out Robot Hive/Exodus or Psychic Warfare next, both are pretty damn stellar. |
dctarga
11.30.16 | Better than Volbeat |
pjquinones747
11.30.16 | First three records are alright |
Sowing
11.30.16 | "we can't post funny soundoffs anymore but sowing can tolerate acad featuring irrevelant as shit lists that's totally fair"
lol nothing about that makes sense: (1) you can post all the funny soundoffs you want as long as they're after the release/stream date and (2) am I acad's keeper? nothing wrong with featuring a list like this esp. if everything else is slow |
Emim
12.01.16 | Vocalist is really good. 45 is one of my favorites. |
DoubtGin
12.01.16 | atmosphere is great |
bentheREDfan
12.02.16 | Fellow fanboy here but of the alt-metal/mainstream rock band RED, so I understand your feelings of them not having a "bad album". I think it's really cool that you your passion through the band seep through.
That said, the only records I could ever really get into from Shinedown were Leave A Whisper and Sound of Madness. |
dmp3131
12.02.16 | Band is still great. The first three albums especially. I liked Amaryllis quite a bit more than the newest one, though. For My Sake still would be in my top 5 Shinedown songs I think. 1 is probably my 1 but Us and Them might be a tick better than Sound of Madness in my book. Either way, nice to see more fans of this band on here. I hope go back to their heavier side next album, like they started to with Cut the Cord. |
SoundofMadness1
12.02.16 | I definitely wouldn't mind seeing more heavy stuff on their next album. |
runaways
12.02.16 | TELL MY MOTHER

12.03.16 | Sound Of Madness is the tops. |
SoundofMadness1
12.03.16 | It's a great album, no doubt. Leave a Whisper is just a tad better imo. |
Trailmix
12.04.16 | Leave A Whisper rules and Sound of Madness as well, but I don't know about the other three, they're okay I guess. |
SoundofMadness1
12.04.16 | Thanks, @sixdegrees! |
Snake.
12.04.16 | yeah i can't wait for your contributions in the near future |
Storm In A Teacup
12.04.16 | Everyone was crazy for Shinedown back in the day |
709baj
12.04.16 | 1 is surprisingly good. I have 3 but haven't gotten around to listening yet |
Danred97
12.04.16 | Haven't listened to shinedown in quite some time. 1 and 2 have always been my favorite. 3 was only okay, and I just gave up on them after 5. Call Me has always been my favorite track from them. Very nostalgic for me. |
